This is actually a great post.
I think this year, my Christmas present that isn't just for me but for my family as well, would be to secure the apartment of my dreams and move out in January.
That and working towards getting myself out of debt. *giggles*

I bought a new down comforter. It's wonderful.![]()
Never thought about this but now that you mention, I guess I'll get myself a couple things off my amazon wishlist...most likely some boots or a purse

Picked up a few new shirts that I absolutely LOVE.
I'm in much need of a pedicure/massage.

a new, amazing hair straightener. also gonna go get some more cheek fillers for myself, maybe a new tattoo

Nothing but trying to save money to open my business next year. I'll leave the gift buying for me to my guys. Lol

Make Your Life Beautiful!

I've got to buy this for myself because none of my 'gentleman friends' consider it a suitable gift for a 'lady' ...
MGA 'Dragon Slayer' in .475 Linebaugh ... obviously with the barrel porting option !!!
But when you can very easily have this show up in your back yard, you don't want to be messing around digging out a hunting rifle ...

I've been working my ass off this year getting a new builder up & going in Atl & I haven't taken any time off. I'm taking my little boys to Disney for Christmas week. I'm thinking Disney Christmas Day & Lego land the day after & universal later in the week. It's my first Christmas with them alone since the divorce, so I'm looking forward to it .

It appears he builds some nice stuff!

^^^ Oh, absolutely !!! I originally discovered MGA when looking for a custom ultra-light hunting rifle ... which at the time fell into a 'loophole' in NY's gun registration law's de-facto ban on guns with any sort of 'military' feature.
However, after I took a serious look at what I wanted a light weight hunting rifle for - which actually boiled down to relatively short range ( i.e. 100 yards ) 'stopping power', and after I moved 'way south of the border' - where you can buy a MAC-10 or a 'Street Sweeper' no questions asked ( and many of my new neighbors have LOL ), I finally figured out that a 'hunting pistol' would actually meet my need better than a light weight rifle ( for a significantly lower price as well ). I already have a Baby Eagle in .40 S&W and a Ruger Storm tac rifle in .40 S&W, but the .40 simply doesn't have the 'stopping power' to drop the target just by 'nicking' it with a single quick shot.
However, I had fired .44 mag pistols before and had all I could do to keep the recoil from hitting myself in the forehead. Based on shooting a 'friend's' magna-ported .475 Widley pistol, the .475 caliber actually solves that problem for me without sacrificing 'stopping power', by trading off lower velocity ( via soft loads ) for higher bullet weight. Of course, 'full load' .475's will stop a buffalo or penetrate an engine block at 200 yards, but after just 2 shots using 'full loads' my wrists were crying for mercy !!! Thanks to MGA's 5 shot revolver design, the 'Dragon Slayer' is quite a bit smaller and lighter than the Widley and other handguns available in .475.
PS we really do need to worry about the wild Jaguars down here !!! And they're a whole lot quicker than the bears in northern NY !!!

How does it compare to the Freedom Arms model 83 .454 Casull, and how do the 475 Linebaugh Balistics compare?

Best gun for a beginner is a bolt action .22 rimfire rifle. Cheap, accurate, safe, no recoil.

I was going to buy another Jimmy Choo to replace mine with the tear but I found out I can ship that one off to NY and it possibly can be fixed. No I'm pissed I've been searching for a new couture bag for 4 hours a day for a week now. No I'm going to get a new one. That one is gorgeous ,snakeskin and rare but I never can find anything in it. I need a nice, new structured bag.

Once I get back from my Christmas vacation I'm buying a pet hedgehog for myself♥

^ post pics!! i absolutely love those little critters..always wanted one!

I have not got myself any new stuff for ages so i have my eye on some Laura Mercier Palatte and some boots.
xoxo

I bought myself a new laptop, and the webcam is on its way! :-)

IMHO the best first gun for 'stress relief' purposes would be a 20 gage semi-auto shotgun. I have a Remington model 1187. It has near zero kick, but is loud as hell, and will blow a huge hole in any target ( or door ) you point it at. It's also very effective at 'upsetting the neighbors' if you simply shoot it straight up in the air ( with bird shot, of course ). And with a semi-auto, you can have the second and third shots fired before the first spent cartridge hits the ground !!! However, with the right ammo ( blended shot ), it also does a very good job hunting small game.My chiropractor told me I needed a stress outlet a few years ago and shooting came to mind. I've never shot before what do you recommend as a good beginners gun?
I looked at the FA model 83. It's very close to the MGA 'Dragon Slayer' in basic design, but the weight and especially the trigger pull are heavier. How does it compare to the Freedom Arms model 83 .454 Casull, and how do the 475 Linebaugh Balistics compare?
As to .454 Casull, ONE TIME ONLY I fired this caliber via a 'friend's' Ruger Super Redhawk. I DID hit myself in the forehead, despite the fact that the gun weighed like 10 pounds !!! In terms of total energy, the .454 Casull is way above the .44 mag, and way above 'soft load' .475's I plan to fire. However, my 'friends' tell me that 'full load' .475 has equal energy to the Casull
from a shooter's BBS - "I just checked my Hodgdon manual (which is the only manual I have with .475 data right now). I show that the velocities in bullet weights above 325 grains or so to be virtually identical. The muzzle energy tends to show the same trend. However, I have data from the Linebaugh seminar that shows a 430 grain, .475 bullet going 64" into wet newsprint when propelled at 1272 fps. This was superior to anything the various .454 loads could do, although I don't see indentical tests with a .454 punch bullet in wet newsprint only. I think it likely that the .475 has a slight advantage in that it can shoot heavier bullets and has more penetration. The .454 has slightly superior aerodynamics and might be better at long range or for target shooting.?(snip)
Again, what I'm looking to achieve is essentially the same combination of 'stopping power' and 'shootability' of a classic 45 caliber ... but with 2 times the bullet weight ... and where dead accuracy beyond 100 yards isn't a factor for me at all !!! However, in fairness to MGA, their ballistic tests with 'full load' aerodynamic target bullets show excellent accuracy out to 200 yards.
