Spending almost 2 weeks catching up with old friends I haven't seen in awhile, doing fun stuff. I would also like a kitten after the holiday season

Because I'm saving for my car repairs, I'm in need of a little 'Retail Therapy', so a trip to Ross today. My spending limit is $20, so I know that I can get lots of goodies there that will make me feel like I'm part of the holiday festivities this year.

I already have, and will continue to, buy enough hickory farms sausage and cheese to give a rhino a heart attack.

I've already bought three kits so far. I'm going to get another one today. Lol. Did you notice the sausage use to be like 5 times the size? Now it's smaller than a little hot dog? Everybody's skimping now adays that;s why we need to keep buying them every few days. Hahaha!

It has near zero kick, but is loud as hell, and will blow a huge hole in any target ( or door ) you point it at. It's also very effective at 'upsetting the neighbors' if you simply shoot it straight up in the air ( with bird shot, of course ). And with a semi-auto, you can have the second and third shots fired before the first spent cartridge hits the ground !!! However, with the right ammo ( blended shot ), it also does a very good job hunting small game.

I looked at the FA model 83. It's very close to the MGA 'Dragon Slayer' in basic design, but the weight and especially the trigger pull are heavier.

As to .454 Casull, ONE TIME ONLY I fired this caliber via a 'friend's' Ruger Super Redhawk. I DID hit myself in the forehead, despite the fact that the gun weighed like 10 pounds !!! In terms of total energy, the .454 Casull is way above the .44 mag, and way above 'soft load' .475's I plan to fire. However, my 'friends' tell me that 'full load' .475 has equal energy to the Casull

from a shooter's BBS - "I just checked my Hodgdon manual (which is the only manual I have with .475 data right now). I show that the velocities in bullet weights above 325 grains or so to be virtually identical. The muzzle energy tends to show the same trend. However, I have data from the Linebaugh seminar that shows a 430 grain, .475 bullet going 64" into wet newsprint when propelled at 1272 fps. This was superior to anything the various .454 loads could do, although I don't see indentical tests with a .454 punch bullet in wet newsprint only. I think it likely that the .475 has a slight advantage in that it can shoot heavier bullets and has more penetration. The .454 has slightly superior aerodynamics and might be better at long range or for target shooting.?(snip)

Again, what I'm looking to achieve is essentially the same combination of 'stopping power' and 'shootability' of a classic 45 caliber ... but with 2 times the bullet weight ... and where dead accuracy beyond 100 yards isn't a factor for me at all !!! However, in fairness to MGA, their ballistic tests with 'full load' aerodynamic target bullets show excellent accuracy out to 200 yards.
Thanks! I want to go shooting and the ranges are far but I think I found one by my house. It's expensive as hell if you don't have a gun and some places require you to take a training course before you can shoot. I'm afraid own a gun because of my temeper. How much are those melonie incase I decide I love shooting and want to get my own?

My present to myself is incredibly boring compared to the rest of you: a fat-free chip maker. But at least I am splurging on a nice Fraser Fir instead of the usual fake tree! Now I just need some inspiration to decorate it...

I'm taking care of my son's Xmas first, but I do have my eyes on a few Sugarpill eyeshadow sets and some really cute toys that I want to get. And of course, I'm still trying to save up for my x-pole too.

I'm getting a stripper pole. My husband is going to build and install it for me, but I'm buying the materials. I've wanted one forever, but there was never enough room. Now the kid has moved out and I'm going to use his room as my stripper room.

I also got myself a new pair of boots last weekend.

The target range you're talking about is probably for pistol shooters. Indeed for pistols they probably require a 5 hour 'gun safety' course ... the same course that is typically required to obtain a state permit to own a pistol.

The shotgun I recommended won't be much good at any target range. For the shotgun, you need to live 'out in the country'.

If you want to pursue target shooting at a local range, I would recommend a small, light 9mm semi-auto pistol like a Glock 26 or a SIG P250 or my own Baby Eagle Polymer. Price range about $5-600 .

I'm probably going to pay off the last $600 on one of my student loans. Whoo-hoo lol But seriously, it will feel so good to have at least one less payment to account for every month.

Hopefully I can save up and move out to my own apartment where I can walk around naked and pee with the bathroom door open. And leave my dishes in the sink overnight once and a while without getting the fucking stink eye from someone.

I'm also buying myself "plumper" lips and a BA consult for Xmas . Even though you can afford to and do deserve to do nice things for yourself, it's hard to justify things like this throughout the year when you are saving . Tis the season to be pretty .
