    Default Waist Training!!!! Thoughts??

I didnt see another thread on this topic if there is them I am soo sorry. I have been seeing alot of posts on instagram about waist training so I was intrigued and I googled it and looked up videos on Youtube. I ordered a corset this week should get it next week. It is not steel boned but plastic rods. I had lipo last year and I still wear my faja only when I am not working. I don't know if it works but it seems an interesting concept that I am willing to try. Just wanted your thoughts.

You really do need a steel boned corset for your training hours and a "trainer" (sorry, I forgot the right word for it, but it's a tight cincher but without the bones) for the rest of the time, like when you are sleeping.

Don't over-do training, as (I would think) you wouldn't want to lose the use of your spine and need the corset to stay upright. Some of the wasp looks are a bit...over-done (imo) but it can be quite flattering on a lesser scale.

    I waist train!

And I love it! I ordered mine using the measurements of my waist (It is advised to go by shirt size), but I wanted the full effect and my moneys worth . Needless to say it was UNBEARABLE like the first week. I didn't think I was going to be able to do it but I kept wearing as long as my body could take.

I have now been wearing mine consistently since Thanksgiving. Its completely bearable now and I have lost inches.

You get the most results by having a great diet, exercising and waist training! I would recommend it

I REALLY want to do this but I'm scared. You can kiss carbs and sugar goodbye if you want to waist train. I'm more scared that I will injure myself though. But I may actually do this... maybe I'll make that my new years resolution. I would love a 18"-20" waist in a corset.

Aww... there is nothing to be afraid of, really.
Maybe the price tag and/or the long-term commitment... but other than that... it's all common sense.

It's a garment. You can put it on and you can take it off.
If it hurts, loosen it or remove it.
    Everything in moderation.
    Go at your own pace.
    It's a corset.

    Disclaimers...
    - Wearing a corset can make a dramatic difference in your shape when it is on... but a permanent change takes a very long time to achieve.
    - It feels unusual... because it is unusual... we've gone our entire lives without wearing a corset... it's going to feel unusual at first.
    - There is a learning curve. Putting the damn thing on is tough in the beginning!
    - Clothing today doesn't exactly work with corsets... because no one is really wearing corsets. Own it or work around it.
    - People think it's weird sometimes.
    - There are no shortcuts really... sorry.

Research will help you. There are numerous corset forums out there... here is one: http://www.corsetheaven.com/forum/

There are plenty of online sources to reference...

    Take a look at http://www.staylace.com/thomaslierse/tip.htm or http://www.contourcorsets.com/tightlacing_tips.html

At the end of the day, you can always change your mind. Waist training isn't for everyone and that's alright. If you're interested you can always give it a try.

When you are looking at corsets make sure you get one with gores at the hips. If you get a corset like the one below it will cut awkwardly into your hips. Also, with a corset like this, your organs, stomach, etc. will have nowhere to go and will squeeze weirdly out the bottom. fashion-costume-sexy-black-satin-corset-steel.jpg

This is much more like what you will want:
    electra+designs+666+photography.jpg
The corset goes over the hips and nips in really well at the waist. If you are getting a corset custom made, make sure you are getting steel or spiral steel bones, a busk, and a waist tape. Coutil, denim, or twill would be your best foundation fabrics. Etsy is a good place to start. If you are getting a pre-made corset be very aware that the length may sit oddly on you. If you have questions, feel free to ask.

^^^ I prefer underbust corsets. Wearing your own bra gives you a more customized boobage situation.

But I agree on the longer length in the hip area... the upside down muffin effect is neither comfortable nor attractive.

I started waist training and I've lost 2 inches in 2 weeks. I'm in a 20 inch under bust steel boned corset. My natural waist size now is 25 inches. I'm extremely excited to see the final outcome.

corset story has some decent spiral steel ones - Im in love with alot of their steam punk ones like:

these obviously not trainers, and flat steel, but they have more than a few good under bust styles too and carry more than just steampunk, they have rockabilly, victorian, and burlesque styled ones too

I'm finally going to take the plunge!! I dabbled in it a little bit the last couple of years, but I'm finally in a place with my body and life where I want to do it? I have the following questions though:

1 Do you absolutely have to have strong core muscles before starting?

2 How often should you wear the corset? How many hours per day and days per week? I cannot wear a corset to bed because the last time I did on accident I had nightmares of asphyxiation!

Where did you get yours, Red Velvette? Did you start with a regular one or a fancy one? Did you wait to invest in a fancy one or is it important to have one right away? Maybe I'll just make a new thread on this because searching "corset" brought up a lot of irrelevant threads.
