    Default spray tanning and nails?

I have long, healthy, thick nails that I work really hard to keep nice, but I also do spray tanning multiple times a week, and I have noticed that the spray tan gets under my nails, in my cuticles, and has actually permanetly dyed some of my nails so I can no longer paint my nails a light color w/o them looking really dirty. I wash my hands multiple times a day and I spent like half an hour tonight scrubbing my nails trying to get the spray tan off of them, and I was able to get some of it off but there was no way I could do like a light pink polish. Do any of you ladies that spray tan have this problem?

Some tanning salons sell little covers you can put over each of your nails to protect them. Theyre usually $10-$15, and are made of a rubbery sort of material.
If your tanning salon doesn't have them, I would shop around, cause its well worth it:-)

I wear my nails natural and get spray tanned before each work trip. My nails are orange. Not my cuticles or under them. If you put clear polish on or barrier lotion before that will help. In the meantime buy a ( I don't know what their called) the thing they use at the nail salons that's like sandpaper and buff lightly with that and it get the orange off. Be careful not to over do it like I did it made my nail bed bleed underneath.

I always used the barrier cream, the tanning salons I went to always had them. I used to always have my acrylics done and spray tan, and I always used the barrier cream before going in and this was never an issue.

I see your location says CA....do you have a Darque Tan near you? I would look into getting a membership there, maybe. The prices were great and most of the locations had VersaSpa...and barrier cream was always right next to the spray booth.

I use the barrier cream, but they told me to just put it on my palms--- do you guys put it all over your hands?

I'm going to look into those rubber things! Cause I'm dying for a french manicure

Apply the barrier cream thicker on the toes and finger nails (almost sort of gloppy)....for natural looking knees and elbows massage in a thin layer on caps! I recomend Norvel Pro barrier cream, you can find it on amazon
