I always consider the days between Xmas and NYE to be wasted days... so that end I'm taking off for a week and hitting LA and seeing friends. Work and trying to contact people during that time always seems a struggle... do things pick up or drop off for you?

From just before Thanksgiving until just after Christmas is the worst time of the year in the clubs here.

Fortunately I am in a very well run club with a great new manager and I am fine with it being a little slower as always. Having a good crew makes all the difference working slower nights.

I wouldn't want to work Xmas & fortunately don't have to. I will however be working NYE, which typically isn't all that great for the DJ as a lot of dancers are out partying so the tips aren't as good. But I am looking forward to it.

In most businesses other than retail, the week between Xmas and NYE is the best time to take off. No one else wants to do a damned thing.

    Have a great time Jay!

When I danced I always did great right around Christmas as guys (at least my regulars)were very generous. There were times I would go dance at clubs around that time just to make money. However right after Christmas it slowed so I stopped working during that time completely. When I went into corporate America I always took off the week between Christmas and New Years Day because jobs tend to be be slow in general during this time. I've never danced on Christmas, New Years Eve or Day so can't say but years ago I worked at Borders on NYE and New Years Day and it was very busy and I made double time (and why I worked as it was volunteer).

Ah yeah I figured people would be generous this time of year. But no doubt the last week of the year has gotta be dead for most people.

And thank Djoser! Indeed I will...

Winter is terrifying at my club, a la Game of Thrones * BRACE YOURSELVES. WINTER IS COMING * It gets super slow. The girls spend more time in the dressing room. They get stir crazy and fight with each other. Winter is the most likely time for fights to break out in the back...That, coupled with a minimal cash flow....Sigh. I hate this time of year at work.

Yeah well you are cool so buck up it could be worse lol.

Like me last year at this time, stuck in a shitty club. Which reminds me I found the rotation list for NYE last year & I definitely made less for a big party night (though as I posted before NYE can suck for a DJ, as less girls means less tips, and they are all out partying instead of working that night).

My club might still be stuck in slow period with the rest of Key West, but man it is actually FUN to work there anyway most nights, even slower ones--for a stripclub that is great!

I have endeared myself pretty well to everyone there, however last winter I had a close call with 4 stark raving mad strippers.....

December is far and away Manhattan's busiest ... and most lucrative ... time of year !!! Unfortunately, come January, things usually go to 'hell in a handbasket'.

^^ Would love to be in Manhattan for the holidays! It must be beautiful there at this time of year. No wonder you are super busy

It's been pretty busy around here, even with the snow. I'm considering working the Saturday night between Xmas and Nyears, but that's about it!

So. Freakin. Bad. Between Thanksgiving and Xmas, it is really bad here. I worked one New Years Day dayshift and absolutely banked. I always say I'm gonna do it again, but I'm usually too hungover )-:<

Well, this year's Wall St Christmas bonuses aren't expected to be much higher than last year. However, given that the AVERAGE Christmas bonus payout to Manhattan bankers, brokers etc. was $121,000 last year ( yes that's right, $121,000 ON TOP OF their regular paycheck income ), I figure it's still worth the airfare to return to Manhattan for the holidays this year !!!

Yeah, here it's not expected to be good again until January... then we get all the tourists for the spring festivals and what have you.

Around the 2nd/3rd week of January, everyone starts getting their bonuses into February. It's not as good as December and it's definitely slower but there is money to be made.
