Not me anymore but next year I am probably going back to school so I will have finals next year at this time. I always hated finals during this time, especially if it was hard. Back in 2003 I was in my last semester of graduate school until I did my thesis and I had a difficult class about communication theories. I had to memorize all the theories and write essays on each a few weeks before Christmas. I was so stressed. Luckily I got through them and graduated.

Haha I think what I like the least about school is having to spend hours memorizing tons of material... I understand there is not really any other way to pass the exam, of course there is comprehension involved but in the end it has a lot to do with how much you can remember....
I just find it annoying sometimes having to spend days to memorize theories/criterias, ending up getting good grades but then forgetting a lot of it a month after...

Yeah to be honest I forget most of those theories now. In fact most of the book stuff I have long forgotten except the hands on things I did. I remember how to edit videos and design websites (and I do this one often)but theories? nope. College was even farther back and I know I forgot most of that as well.

UGH. I cannot tell you how many times my train of thought has literally ended up at, "Oh my god. I'm just going to die. That's what's gonna happen. I'm just gonna die now."
That is how stressed I am. It's keeping me up at night...But then WINTER BREAK is right thereeee oh lawd I can hear it singing Xmas carols to me!! Sweet Jesus it's almost over for 6 weeks! ....During which I will work 5 shifts a week to compensate for the slow business this time of year. :/
-Sophia_StarinaThere is no reason to take it up the ass and then act all butthurt.

I just finished on Wednesday. The sad part was that I was so burnt out and tired of it that I wasn't even stressed, I was just whipping out half-assed essays and take home exams just to be done.
NOW what's stressful is the professors forgetting to enter things... One just uploaded my official grade as a B, and he had forgotten to put in my grade for something in the grade book, which would have given me an A. So now I just have to hope he's allowed to change it by university policy. Grrrrrrrrrrrrr.

Ugh I strongly dislike memorization as well. That is part of my love of math. I can use critical thinking skills to apply to the problems and write it into a logical conclusion. I was ticked that O-Chem was just another memorization class, at least, the way my teacher taught it. I can only do well when I can draw out the COMPLETE mechanism. I don't want to know the one's too complicated to be able to draw a detailed mechanism for, because really, what does the major product really mean to us when we have NO IDEA HOW WE GOT THERE? LOL! Yikes, more O-Chem fun next semester. I hope my teacher is a bit more theory-based this time, I don't want to see words and pictures on a screen and be told to memorize them, why? For what? LOL, seriously.

two more finals and i'm done!!!! i agree w everyone above memorization is a bitch -- i love using flash cards but i HATE making them.. soo time consuming gahhhhh
Unsophisticated in the finest sense of the word.
Done with finals! Passed all my classes this semester! It was a close call on my calculus. If I were to draw a diagram of my social circles where dancing coworkers overlap with fellow students, this thread would be the overlapping area. That’s my nerdy way of saying I am so glad I can share my experiences with people in a similar situation; it feels great to be a part of this group!

Not done. Two of my profs gave me an "incomplete" this semester so that I could complete the finals when the new semester starts and get a better grade than I would have had I taken them without being prepared. Lucky me!
