Thumbs down Grand Theft Auto as a subject of conversation

Recently while getting a string of dances from a very bubbly and outgoing dancer, she asked if I played video games. I responded by saying I play a few every now and then, to which she quickly replied she is a big fan of GTA 5. I didn't get the chance to tell her I meant computer games, such as TrackMania.
So she is going on about how awesome GTA 5 is and how, get this, you can go to strip clubs and get dances, and if you pay a dancer enough you can take them home with you! Hearing this, I tried to act surprised and asked, "You mean all the dancers do this?", and she said, "Well, just some of them. A few won't go home with you no matter how much you pay them." In a relieved voice I replied, "Oh that's good to know." I wanted to steer the conversation away from OTC.
Overall, it was a mistake on her part to bring up a game where virtual strippers can go home with you. For a seasoned customer, it just kills the mood. Ditto for violent games (which also includes GTA). Any dancers here ever talk about this with custies?

Hmmm. I only talk about things that spark their interest and get them talking about themselves. If it's something I know will ruin the mood, I don't talk about it. I'm there to be a fantasy, not out at the bar with my friends. I usually do some dirty talk too depending on if the guy is into that. Sounds like that girl is a little clueless.

my guess is that she's either dumb, or just assumes all guys play video games and thought it might be a good way to bring up taking it OTC? no idea. i usually try and feel the custy out, if they are talking about GTA then i will, but i wouldn't randomly bring it up.. and i've seen the strippers on GTA 5 and their dances suck! haha

Indeed it is. I honestly am not interested in OTC since the frequency of it actually happening in my area is close to zero. So why bother even broaching the subject?

Well, I had spent a nice chunk of money on her at that point, so you might have something there. The point I am making is more than likely she never intended to follow through with an offer (if I had let the convo get that far) and was just hustle.

^Maybe it was an indirect request for OTC? Or maybe this just slipped out (which would explain why she went on to "save" the convo' with, "well just some of them"). I don't think it was too offensive personally, she was probably just trying to make conversation (but she made the mistake of talking and not asking-otherwise she would have known that you are into PC games etc).

If any interest comes up in conversation, on their part, then I'm happy to talk about it. But, I wouldn't bring up my own interests unless asked. She was most likely just trying to keep you interested and comfortable by steering the conversation in a direction that she obviously thought you would enjoy. I have had a few guys talk to me about GTA 5 when I've asked about their day recently.

Sounds like a hint for OTC games to me.

She probably doesn't realize that there are indeed a lot of guys that aren't interested in prostitutes.

Even if I did get dances, it would turn me off if she started babbling about video games.

GTA 5 is a subject that the vast majority of guys would find interesting. And that's her job really.

I don't have time now, but when I was younger I wasted so much time playing all these dumb computer games. And the GTA series was the best. If an average looking stripper was able to talk about GTA, cars, business, or any typical guy thing, I'd want to spend money on her rather than a girl who just looks hot.

Why not just start talking about the things you like to talk about, then she'll follow along.

^^^True enough--however the time for that kind of conversation is really out on the floor, at the table with the drinks, not in the presumably intimate atmosphere of the private dance room. Most guys do not want to talk about video games, the stock market, sports or trucks while a hot girl is grinding on their dick. However much they might leap at the chance to do the same out on the floor, and however much it would help the dancer get the sale.

Though it's really kind of moot. I'd lay odds she didn't give a damn about GTA, but was fishing for a trick OTC.

I am getting a great visual in my mind of Yoda doing that.

I might not run screaming, but I'd change the subject very quickly. Typical guy talk--sports, cars, GTA or whatever fucking video games--usually bores the hell out of me.

Out of all the awesome things you can do in the game and the online multiplayer, she chose to talk about the strippers? Lol! I'm pretty serious with the game, creating races and missions but I'm a huge fan of the series. Not that I would bring any of this up in the club.

Right, but she chose to talk about how the guys could take the strippers out of the club for sex--while grinding him in the lapdance room. Pretty safe bet she was dropping a major hint. And not about playing any video games...

She could of said it in a "how crazy is that" way. It's something that I think is pretty ludicrous and if I played the game, I may mention it to a customer.

^This is very true! Many of us are good "conversationalists" and can talk about/are interested in a range of different topics. I think this girl made the mistake of talking about GTA5, when the OP really only plays PC games-so of course the conversation was going to go down hill . Maybe the "stripper" comment was just her sense of humour (I know girls who are "outgoing" and "bubbly" who definitely don't think before they speak). If she had just mentioned "they have them in this game" it wouldn't have made the OP as uncomfortable.

I also agree with Djoser, this is small talk and can belong on the floor. But, a lot of customer's initiate talking about every day things like this in the VIP as well.

I would much rather have a real conversation with the girl giving me a dance, than have her feign intense sexual arousal. The moment a dancer starts acting all hot and bothered it takes me completely out of the dance, as it is so obviously fake. If I was really that attractive I wouldn't have to pay girls to sit in my lap.
Contrary to popular media, there are tons of women playing all sorts of games, including types traditionally thought of as male only. And while her GTA comments could have been a not so subtle attempt to steer the conversation to OTC, it could also be that playing GTA was something she was thinking about and it just fell out of her mouth.

I don't bring it up unless the customer specifically asks. Most of my customers are young white guys between the ages of 18-35 so chances are they're excited about the new consoles coming out. This is where it helps to unleash the "Kraken". I just shove their face in my tits and pretend to listen.

That is entirely possible--I wasn't there.

And I hear you on the 'fake extreme arousal', though from what I've seen in many years watching the cameras in those rooms, most guys don't give a rats ass about how genuine the girls might be. Granted I have worked in Florida. But that sort of thing is yet another reason (among many) I never get dances.

On those rare occasions I have been forced into accepting a dance (like if a friend pays for it and the girl is obviously going to get mad if I refuse) I have done that myself--steer the conversation towards mundane things, totally incongruous to the fact that a woman I have never met is grinding her pussy onto my dick.
