    Default Being "Professional"

Clearly, escorting is a unique business and the usual rules for professionalism may or may not apply. I'm about to start indie and have realized I don't really know anything about the unwritten rules about dict communication with clients. My goal, like most providers, is to maintain a lasting, healthy and professional relationships with clients - maintaining boundaries whithout coming across as cold. I'm referring to emails and texts mostly. So what specific communication do you consider to be appropriate? And what is not?

My two cents is to leave it entirely up to the client when and how to communicate, but also set your own boundaries. For me personally, all contact until about an hour prior to our first appointment is via email. From then on, he has permission to text me for future bookings. That being said, I do not text clients first EVER--even the single ones. Not only does that cover your ass (less to use against you), but it also prevents unnecessary and time-wasting texting. I'm close to refusing to see one of my clients anymore simply because he texts me way too frequently. If he were booking appointments with me, that'd be one thing, but he actually texts to ask about my day and to idly chitchat, which is not ok. Clearly, I need to remind him that having and using my phone number is a privilege that he is abusing...
