My parents are very selfish and will never support my dream. They're pissed off that i'll leave and they'll grow old and i won't be there to care for them.
I've always wanted to live in the US, but not just because i want to experience the ''wite picked fence american dream'', but because i've always felt that i was born in the wrong place all along. I am well aware that immigrants are viewed somewhat inferior than US-born people, maybe due to language barriers / religion / stereotypes, but i'll try my best to make it big... you only live once.
@ Alicefun: My parents always tell me that i'm lucky to have been born after the collapse of the communist era, but i sometimes wonder if it was that difficult back then? People got jobs automatically once they finished school, and apartments to live in, the country had no external debt whatsoever.
Nowadays, poverty is the main issue around here. The job market sucks big time, people resort to stealing, prostitution, selling drugs, scamming just because THEY DON'T HAVE A CHOICE. Maybe in other developed countries, camming is seen as a fallback job, but here, this industry is one of the highest paid ones in the country.
I have 2.5 years to try my best and get my degree, save up the money, do the paperwork, and read about realistic expectations, taxes, and finally.... say goodbye.
