Default Interview rather than audition- in Australia

    Hi girls

I have my first club audition in a week. I’ve been waitressing at private parties for 2 years and private dancing for about a year.

I called the manager of the club I want to work at and he said he had finished interviews for the year but asked me to come in next week. He didn’t mention an audition- he said interview- but I will be prepared to audition/ work just in case.

I would appreciate anyone sharing any info they have about the process of getting hired in Australian clubs and if you had an interview or an audition. I've read lots of the threads on here, but I would appreciate anyone with info about Australian clubs.

    Thanks!

A lot of clubs here do "interviews". It will be an actual interview i.e. you will sit down, tell them about your availability, experience, fill in your details, sign the club contract etc. Some may ask you to "strip down" and some won't (it depends on the club). Most won't allow you to work the same night, but be prepared just in case. They will usually hire you on the spot, but tell you to come in either later that week or next week (it depends on how many girls are on the roster already and which day they actually do their rostering). Obviously, you don't have to dress as if you are going for a proper "interview", for an office job for example, but smart casual always makes a good impression i.e. nice top, jeans and heels or a nice dress and heels etc-something flattering that shows off your assets. Also, make sure your hair is styled/make up done (as if you are "going out on the town"). I know that seems like common sense, but I've seen girls attend interviews with greasy hair and track suit pants etc (some still get hired, but it's not a great first impression. I guess it just depends on the club). Which city are you looking to work in ?
