Default never thought i'd miss stripping

I searched for some other posts like this but didn't find anything, so please excuse me if this is already posted!

I am really missing dancing. Even the annoying, used-to-pissme-off-to-no-end parts of it. I a 1 semester away from 2 bachelor degrees and I stopped about 5 month ago to really focus on school, (I used to strip full-time, I held off on taking out any loans until last semster and suported myself for years.)

I miss the money, the attenion, good and bad, the actal dancing on stage. Feelng so sexy, (I don't get as much sex as I would like from my s.o. and that isn't going to change soon ha ...)

I'm just wondering if I am alone in this or if anyone else feels/felt the same way? Considering going back a day a week or so....

i quit at the beginning of october... it wasn't by choice, i was in a bad car wreck so i was kinda forced into it. i missed it every day. i didn't expect to miss it as much as i did. i tried to get a "regular" job working at a restaurant... i lasted a week there lol! i immediately went back to dancing the next day and i'm so, so happy. if you need to focus on school before you go back, definitely do that, but it's totally normal to miss it - even the crappy parts of the job like grabby hands and slow nights! maybe just put on a show for your SO for now hahaha

I never thought I would miss stripping either! I graduated with my bachelors degree, quit dancing and got a vanilla job in my field. After a while I started to miss dancing and decided to start up again. I have been enjoying dancing again but it is tricky to balance both jobs in both worlds. Maybe this thread will have some more support ...

I think it gets in your blood. I have a masters degree and my money is excellent. Still- I miss stripping.

I'm dealing with this right now . I stopped dancing in October when I got this stable desk job, its good money but its the same thing day in and day out. I enjoyed dancing the money wasn't always stable but It allowed me to travel out of town to clubs and experice life . now I'm confined to a damn desk . I honesty think I got this job for all the wrong reasons . my dance bag is still packed like any day now im just gonna snap and say "fuck this I'm gonna go shake this ass for cash". Lol

I wholeheartedly agree that it is in your blood. I think I could have the best job in the world with 3x my salary of stripping and I'd still want to strip. Sorry, you can take the stripper out of the club but you can't take the stripper out of the stripper.

^^ So true! It stays with you.

I missed so many things when I took a break. The independence of it. Working whenever I wanted. The feeling of freedom at the end of the night when I could just leave it all behind. Driving home with a thick wad of cash!

When I took a 'good' vanilla job in my area of study (what was supposed to be my 'real' career!) I was never so stressed out! Long hours, bitchy and critical co-workers, controlling bosses, complaining clients.

I don't know if I will ever consider stripping my 'real' job, because I know it won't last forever. I'm just gonna enjoy it while it lasts!

I encountered the same thing. I love the freedom that stripping is able to afford me. I quit for 6 years. I spend the first year in a serious funk. Then I went to college and landed a job in my field (business admin, HR specialist). It was awful! Simply having to sit at a desk all day and stare at a computer was enough to have me looking for the exit. I also encountered all the crap Rosalie did working in an office environment.

I'm going to dance until my student loans are paid off, then begin beauty college.

I quit almost two years ago and I go back and forth on it, but when I miss it it's bad. I miss feeling sexy. I gained a ton of weight since I quit, I don't feel like myself. I miss how wads of cash smell.

A few months ago I was completely burnt out on it, then slowly started missing it again. When I love it, I really love it and get excited about going in. Since I'm just a boring mom at home, it's kind of an escape for me to dress up and become this money making goddess. I know in a few months I'll probably hate it again and have to take time off. It's a love/hate relationship.

I'm so on-and-off with my dancing career bc I started the same month I started cosmetology school but I know it's in my blood. I wish I could do it every night. That's why I'm hurrying like hell to get school finished so I can hit the road and strip for a good while.

Stripping is best for me as a stepping stone or as a means to augmenting my income.

If I'm dancing and have nothing else going on, I feel like I'm walking backwards off the edge of a cliff, and it holds NO glamour or excitement for me. I do best when I'm dancing while I'm in school, or dancing occasionally while I'm working a straight job. Otherwise I feel like a loser with no stable future (this is a personal problem - not saying others do or should feel this way).

That same feeling comes whenever I work in any job that's unskilled or skilled labor (at the core): massage therapy, stripping, cashiering, etc. I'm someone who needs a mainstream professional job to feel sane, interested (i.e. not bored), and productive, so I'm working towards a career that will fulfill those needs.

Oh yeah that is so true! I do feel a ton of anxiety if I'm not working on something else while I'm dancing...It does make me feel like a huge loser if it's the only thing I have going on. I also feel like I make more $$ with wealthier clients if I can talk to them about school or my other business, etc. It seems like a lot of big spenders *want* you to do something else, besides just dance. I remember when I wasn't in school I would even lie and say I was. I never put that together until now...hmmm

I miss being able to get drunk and having no accountability to anyone other than myself. I miss the dressing room and sharing good and bad nights with other girls. I miss the music and how energetic it made me and of course, I miss the easy ability to make a lot of money.

It was comfortable and I was good at it. My job now pays more and I don't have to deal with bullshit but its just not as fun.
