Angry Where to do online community college without having to take exams at the school?

I am so frustrated! This is my second semester attempting to get classes. There is a huge shortage of spots in my state for the classes I need. I applied to 4 community colleges yet when my registration date arrived all of the spots were taken INCLUDING the 15-30 waitlisted spots. Unbelievable. The class I wanted is already filled at all the colleges within a 2 hour distance already. Priority registration students have taken all the spots.

Is there a way I can do online accredited community college at an out of state college and do the exams online? Most online classes at community colleges make you go to the school for exams. I don't see that being a possibility if I don't live in the same state.

There are actually quite a few. What classes are you looking for? The CC I attended did not require this for most classes unless it was selective admission courses.

I for a time was bored and threw myself through a few classes from the university of Pittsburgh- namely aesthetics, colour theory a few math courses and just other " Throw on the art classes and missing things because I can" most of the exams didnt require me to go anywhere, the ones that did required a neutral place like a library- but I never had to go to a campus for anything

I'm SURE there are some out there but I imagine many community colleges (specifically due to their focus on more local community) may have a requirement for attendance to the first day or some kind of orientation. Only speaking from experience, however, emailing the dept. chair or whatever the subject & making other arrangements would be worthwhile.

I have my fingers crossed for you, doll! Its a weird time with higher academics right now and WE are the ones suffering.

Winter term begins 1/6/2014 There must be other schools, I would think? Good luck!

I have taken quite a few at Rio Salado CC. It's entirely online. Some of them do require an in-person proctored exam, but there is a way to do it if you're out of town. The last two classes I did, however, did not require me to go in at all.

They have stuff starting at least 3 times a semester, so it's easy to get in as well.

Sinclair community college and clark state community college. I emailed the accounting professor last night and he added more seats to his online class just so I could get in.

Not sure what kind of CC's they have in your area if that's the case. I took a few refresher English courses for writing and speech and the only time I had to go to the school was the days we were giving the speeches. They even had some where we recorded the speeches and they were played on the message boards. I've even seen some classes done using solely Webex style software for lectures.
