    Default Canadian booking agencies

Has anyone booked through agencies in Canada? I'm looking at Erotic 2000 and Erotique 2012 mostly. It seems like a good deal - The clubs pick me so I know I'm what they are looking for, there's no percentage taken by the agency (club pays them, not the dancer), there's accommodations if they send you further from home, and transport is included.
I'm trying to find the downside here because honestly, if it was as good as it seems, wouldn't all Canadian dancers just work through agencies?

Also open to hearing about experiences with booking agents in other countries.

Where are you trying to go? My impression is that a booking agency is only really needed on the west coast (and these agencies focus on ON, QC and the Maritimes, all of which you can work in without an agent), and even that's mainly if you're doing the showgirl circuit. I'd be leery of any agency that says you should never book yourself directly with the club and without your agent (as the Erotic 2000 website says).

I mean, reach out to them and see what the deal is. The actual booking itself may be free, but I'm willing to bet there is some fine print or hidden costs in there. Maybe a mandatory training, schedule, whatever. I find it best to just do it yourself so you're never stuck or dependant on anyone.

You also don't need a booking agent to work outside the country, provided Canadians are eligible to gain a work visa. If you aren't eligible, a booking agent is just going to be a shady character.

I'm not looking to go too far from home as of yet - Maybe the smaller towns in Quebec, Quebec City, or Ontario. I've heard that the money for a French speaking girl can be pretty good in New Brunswick. Or even just staying in Montreal and doing a circuit of clubs instead of sticking to one. Lately I've just had a fantasy of constant "new girl money" coming my way.
Have you had experience in the smaller towns?

I've been looking into some clubs and they won't give you the time of day unless your with their agency. Most are based in Montreal. Anyone know of Ontario based? I'm looking to travel to smaller New Brunswick towns.

Which clubs won't hire non-agency dancers? And are you looking for an Ontario-based agency or clubs in Ontario that don't only hire agency dancers? Ontario is not an agency province at all, so you'd be fine just going around on your own.

Hmmm yup I've never heard of any club in QC or ON that won't hire non-agency girls!! I don't think there's much of an advantage of an agency - my understanding has always been that if there's accommodation provided, they book, but you are still the one paying for it. There are some clubs that provide you with cheap accommodation but again, they don't need to be booked through an agency.

I don't know if you communicate with any of your regulars outside of work but when I was in Montreal I found it useful to let them know where I would be when I switched clubs, even if just for the day or week, so I had some guaranteed income but also the new girl money coming in!

As for New Brunswick, I've heard good things as well, although all of it second hand. I don't know anyone who's gone with an agency though, everyone I know who has danced in the Maritimes has always gone on their own.
