Does the room around you have an impact on customers opinion/impression of you? I just moved in with my BF, and lets just say his room is pretty, um.. masculine looking.. needs a womans touch..
would it helped if I spruced the place up a bit?

Definitely! Make it look seductive and romantic. Mine isn't the greatest but I have a comfy and lush looking bed, a sexy black canopy and of course good lighting helps. Can you hang a curtain up so the wall isn't bare? Add a nice curtain, some pillows, throw a nice comforter down and make it look inviting.![]()

It would help to add a woman's touch in there; after all, these guys are paying for fantasy and surroundings certainly play into it. I'd take a clean, masculine looking room over a cluttered, messy room any day though.
Sites like woot.com, hautelook.com, and so on constantly have short-term deals on electronics, decor, and bedding. Also check around overstock.com, IKEA, Bed Bath and Beyond, and other home stores as many just had their white sale and are still posting great clearance items to spruce up your space.
Was in a similar situation and it def helps to spruce up a little bit, not just for your custies but when I did it put me in a better mood when I cammed too. When I started to add some girly things I got a "bed in a bag" set from walmart (it's basically a comforter and bed sheet set), I was lucky and at the time I was able to get 2 for 50 and a colorful lamp. The bed sheets are a really quick and fast way to start bringing a new vibe into your room. I usually check out the dorm/college sections of stores because they tend to have more colorful, girly things and are usually a decent price.
mine you can see here
I wanted to keep it neutral, with different ( but related) hues and tones , to create contrast and make it " interesting" the wall scroll there to add a splash of colour without taking away from " me" being there - and to help refract ambient lighting better.
keep it simple basically, and it seems to go over well, the wall scroll always triggers conversation points- which is helpful as I guess my biggest target IS the gammers/otaku/geeks in general

It depends on the clients you are trying to attract. I see young cute with Hello Kitty, I see Dom surrounded by black and dark. I see some women with lots of color (which I like) and I see messy rooms that no one pays attention too, it's a hot performer banking.
What you like go for.
Absolutely. The mood of the room is as important as the environment at an expensive restaurant.
