Would 4 inches work?
Would 4 inches work?

Many areas have a min heel hgt that is required by local bylaws. I have worked in clubs where they didn't care as long as there was sm heel, & been dragged off the floor at other clubs from a paying customer b/c my heels were too short & my options were either to rent a pair of taller heels or go home (& of course, pay the club's leave early fine)
Check w/ the club you are looking to audition at. Most places want 6". I draw the line at 5" (knees problems exacerbated by taller shoes) & danced my last yr+ w/ that hgt, just didn't advertise it since you basically can't eyeball sm1 for a single inch.

for a newbie you can actually do tall heels as long as they have thick heels like these:

they may not be as graceful and slimming looking, but if they make you wear high ones id get some like that.

7" is my magic # for cocks I fuck and heels I wear.![]()

I don't wear anything lower than 7". I used to wear taller but they were hard to walk in once I started drinking... lol. I personally find stripper heels to be much easier to walk in/more comfortable than regular heels, I'm never uncomfortable or in pain in my 7 inchers. When I wear regular heels 4" is pushing is because they don't have the platform stripper heels do.

I have 6", 7" and 8" heels. I wear the 6" the most often (cause I'm already 5"6), but I wear the others occasionally.
SweetK, the thing about wearing higher heels is that they help give your body a sexy silhouette. They help push your chest out, stomach in, and make your legs appear longer.
Are you worried about walking in heels that high? I was when I first started, and I bought a pair of clear 6" Pleasers and wore them when I was at home in my apartment and it helped me get used to them.
Don't be nervous about the higher heel. They're very comfortable once you get accustomed to them!
thank you very much for the site! i'm loving them shoes! i have weird taste lol. i'm not too worried about the height, but with my current weight, my balance isn't good. i thought when i get trimmed my balance would be better lol. but i thought of going in curvy still![]()
You don't really get much of a platform until you get to 5-5.5", and the platform is what makes them comfortable and flattering, so you're better off going a bit higher. You'll get the hang of walking in them!
Thank You Ladies!![]()

there's too much of an arch in anything below 6.75" heels, in my opinion. i personally prefer 6.75 and 7 and no shorter/taller. my feet are not dying by the end of the shift, ever.

If you have small feet, shorter heels will look nice. If you wear over a size 10, a 7" heel or taller will look better on your foot shape. THe height of the heel doesn't make much difference in balance, it has more to do with the construction of the shoe. Try to get a shoe that has a one piece sole. The styles where the heel is attached seperately from the platform toe will be the hardest to dance in.
This is good:
This is much harder to dance in:

I don't even know if I can answer this because I STILL fall at least twice a night!lol
No but I started in 7 inches and have stayed in them. I tried 8 one night (well for like 15 mins) and thought I might die on stage. 7s look good and are fairly easy to walk in IMO

IMO it's not so much the height issue with heels as it is with the ANKLES. (well, and alcohol LOL). Start off with a pair having ankle straps and as suggested earlier, walk around your apt./house/etc. Once you learn how you can and cant move, you likely wont need heels with straps.
Tip 2: Scuff them! This sounds goofy but find a place (or time_) where you can put on your heels and literally scuff them on concrete for a few minutes. New heels tend to realllly grab on the stage for me, and one little slippy step mistake can have you face-planting the floor.
Tip 3: Blowdryers! If the plastic is unmanageable/way to tight to deal with, take a dryer and heat them up while wearing them. Be careful, of course; it stretches out the plastic a tad. They will loosen up over time due to your own body heat and weight stretching out the material, but if you need to get your feet ready in a rush this technique has worked wonders for me.
Best of luck! Let us know how it goes!
*side note: I've always fit best in pleasers. Also, my feet (as well as 99% of girls I work with) are trashed. The smartest advice I received from an older veteran dancer is to wrap your toes. She individually tapes her last two or three toes, and they look great. She uses nude tape. I should also note she is a dance instructor as her second job.
I'd grab my trumpet and I'd do a stripper sound, like the old Louis Armstrong, real raspy. And the people would go nuts! Then I knew that the sexual, sensual, guttural sound, that throbbing sound, is where it's at.
Cant go wrong with 7s. love mine. But get an ankle strap!!

I wear 7 inch heels. I wasn't used to walking in heels before I started dancing so I started with 6" then switched to 7" and they made the 6" look so short lol. For a newbie who isn't used to it I'd say 6" then work your way up. Five inches and below just looks too short to me. Higher heels improve your posture, making your stomach appear flatter and your ass, legs, etc appear more in shape. Some clubs have rules that your heels must be a certain amount of inches... a Chicago club made a new rule a few months ago that your heels can't be HIGHER than 5.5"!
"Rather have my feet hurting than my pockets."

I just started, and I have a pair of 6 and 7 inches. The only reason I wear my 6 inch pleases is cause they glow in the dark AND they have an ankle strap. If my 7 inches did both, I'd live in them.
I think either of those are a good starter height for heels, I wouldnt suggest going under 6 though.

I dont think heal size matters as much as comfort. I prefer Ellie brand shoes & they have to have straps.. I am highly uncoordinated & if they dont have straps they either fall off or I fall over. Most of my heals are 6inch, I do not recommend the heals with the gun shape heal from pleaser they are very hard to walk in and are kind of hollow feeling..
