never. BLADES on the other hand is another thing. and for my sake much harder to remove myself from the situation/realization should I ever put them to use ( and a good incentive to try not to )

Eventually the federal courts are going to drag Chicago and the rest of Illinois out of the dark ages.

i will as soon as i move back to my home state! my current state is..not very pro firearm from what i've gathered.
i was hoping for a little pink .22 for christmas, but noooo...![]()

Eventually looking to get my cc permit. The bitch of it is that VA has reciprocity w/ all of the states where I have family ... Except for MD which is where the majority of them are. MD seems to def be one of those 'Dark Ages' states.
I second blades tho, have been carrying one for a few yrs but hopefully will nvr have to use it.

Down here way south of the border, I never go anywhere without my Baby Eagle pistol ( .40 S&W ) with nose mounted laser. I have found that, just like boobs, brandishing 'big guns' gets bad boys' attention immediately !!!
PS that laser dot has also allowed me to 'defuse' a potentially dicey situation. I guess the guy had figured that a 'mere girl' couldn't aim accurately without it ( boy was he wrong LOL ), but decided to high-tail it when the laser dot appeared in the center of his chest ( which was fine by me ... I already have to pay enough 'charity' money to the local authorities without having to also 'buy my way' out of shooting a local ) !

I don't carry one because all I have right now is too awkward and bulky
But I do carry a knife in my bag, and there is a gun within reach in the "most utilized" spots in the house... a .22 in the couch, shotgun by the bed, rifle in the office. Add my German Shepherd mix and my boyfriend's sword collection and you'd have to be one dumb motherfucker to try anything!

Simone, bad boys will laugh at a .22 pistol these days !!! You need at least a .38 ... better yet a 9mm ... and if you want to be 'sure' go 10mm = .40 With all the damn drugs around these days, it takes a larger 'hole' than it used to for the bad boy to realize he's been shot !!!i was hoping for a little pink .22 for christmas, but noooo ...
Selena, I'm with you on 'redundancy'. I've got a short barrel Remington 1187 20ga semi-auto shotgun under my bed, and a Beretta CX4 tac rifle with laser sight ( also in .40 S&W ) in the closet next to my door. A girl just never knows these days.

Nope. I'm afraid of guns, so that just isn't going to happen. Besides, I don't get the idea in my head that "everything will be ok because I'm armed" as an excuse to make stupid decisions.

i know! i got all excited because my boyfriend told me my dad was talking about getting me one for christmas, but come christmas, no little .22come the spring though when i move i fully intend on having one. i might try and get my license to conceal or carry, but when i move back i can at least have a rifle at home without the paperwork.

LMAO @ Chicago and Maryland "coming out of the dark ages" - they think they're the ones being progressive by banning guns!
@Tourdefranzia - it actually works the other way most of the time. Level-headed people with carry permits will usually go to far greater lengths to avoid a confrontation. That weight on your hip (or whatever) serves as a constant reminder of the responsibility you're packing. Idiocy while carrying just isn't an option. Of course, there are many people who go the other route, but in my experience they're the types that are going to cause problems regardless, and usually aren't carrying legally.
For conceal carry, I'm a big fan of the PPK and it's clones, I have a couple Bersa Thunder 380CC's. LOVE them. I had a 1911 .45 for the house and underseat car gun, and of course there's a basic 12 guage pump for the house. Also a Bersa Thunder .22 for practice, functionally identical to the .380's and cheaper to shoot, plus MM won't develop a flinch shooting the .22 so I know she'll shoot straight if she ever has to pull the .380. Pocket guns pack a wallup to the hand, and she doesn't like it. I swear those little .380's sting twice as much as my buddies H&K .40!
Yes! I have my CCW. I carry a Ruger LC9.

^those are what I"m talking about, LOL! LC9 = OUCH to shoot!

I'm armed with a Colt New Agent, 9mm.

^^^ nice ... the Colt New Agent is reportedly the 'perfect' concealed carry / pocket pistol. With the trench sights and ultra-short barrel, it isn't much good beyond 20 yards or so ... but in a self-defense role that's all you need ! And the 9mm provides reasonable stopping power. It's gotta be a wrist wrencher though in 9mm ???

i have a few small 22 with cci stinggers in it... when i can't hide a big gun .... a smith 357 3 inch.... for traveling... . and a colt1911 45...love her.... and a ruger p85 9mm...yes i carry i would rather be safe... and let the lowlife be sorry.....
Lol. My husband hates it. He doesn't like the extra long trigger pull on it. I love it though and I'm actually a better shot than he is. He carries a Beretta Nano and we also have a Ruger SR40 as a "house gun." The Nano is a little top heavy to me, kinda weird, and the 40 just scares me. Lol.

Yeah Chicago has strict gun laws and high crime, talk about irony and delusions. Anyway right now I don't have a gun but am considering a Colt. However I do carry a knife for protection but when I have gone into bad areas I get someone with a gun to accompany me.
