Default Every woman: Life as a truck-stop stripper

Everyone knows what charming places strip clubs can be, but perhaps there is no club so charming as one in Moriarty, New Mexico—a truck stop with taxidermy and the bras of former employees on the walls, a few poles, a shitload of black light, and plenty of titties. Never mind that The Ultimate Strip Club List website describes it as the place “where strippers go to die.”

Vice usually does a pretty good job on docs. This is going to be a little over the top, going to the worst strip club in America! But it will be a little more evenly handled than say if Nightline or Fox News did it.

Lmao I used to work there. Omg that was forever ago. The DR is SMALL. The stage was supported by milk crates.

I've worked at places similar to that. Rapid City, SD comes to mind. Also, Gillette, WY. I visited a club in Roseburg, OR a couple years ago that would make the club in the video clip look like an upscale gentleman's club.

Ooo I'm gonna watch this!! I generally don't like reporters and journalists going "undercover" to "experience" strippering, but this looks good. I don't think you can get the full experience of it unless stripping really is what you do - what you do to pay for your house, your family, fill your pantry. It has to be what you rely on to live. Going into it as a third party, with a journalist's POV, it's not really a true experience. Just my opinion.
There is no reason to take it up the ass and then act all butthurt.

A lot of us have options. Being dependent on income solely from stripping is probably more the exception and not the norm. I'd say that only about 20% of the dancers I work with have stripping as their only source of income. Most of us have other revenue streams and/or family support.

i've mostly relied soley on stripping, along with most of the girls i work with ( so i guess everybody is different) awhile ago had another job, but it really is a totally different life style and experience when you only strip to support yourself. doesn't mean you're a better person or anything ( although i can't stand the little teeny bopper types who come in and act like its some kind of social group or party. gag), but it IS different. think that's what she was saying

Doing it because you need the money is different than doing it because you need to write an edgy article. That's what I meant.

I've seen this a while ago and didn't like it at all! The girls are trying their best but it's almost condescending the way they go into the club for a few days and expect to have the "stripper experience".

They let us in on their agenda simply by picking the worst strip club in the country to "investigate". It was planned to be an exploitation piece. They could have gone to Vegas to some of the biggest, most popular, most lucrative, most relevant operations but chose the most dysfunctional one they could find. They title it Every Woman then bend over backward to find the least representative spot possible.
