stay the hell away from dark lipstick. even red. you'll want lighter colors and some gloss
no dark eye shadow, instead do a white/nude/light pink/ and add some sparkle
make sure your eye brows are nice and full and not overly arched
line your water line with white eye pencil
curl your lashes and add some fakies!
don't add face powder to the parts that wrinkle ( if you have any), as the powder can settle in and accentuate those. just do a nice creamy foundation and only powder your nose
nice rosey blush in the apples of your cheeks
your hair color can also age you dramatically if its too dark or too light, i like to add curl around my face to soften it..
are you going for the lolita school girl look * super young*? or just youthful in general?
I have just a few pointers as I have not been doing this long but celebrated my 37th yest.
I am dark so I always have a lot of lighting. I also make sure the camera is at eye level or above a bit.
Bright colors for clothes. Like fuschias and teals but only in the clothes.
makeup.
to eliminate dark circles I use a concealor 2 shades lighter and put it just under the circles, not on them.
I use a light makeup appliation using an antishine primer only in my "Y" zone
I use lipcolors that are light but not bright and cakey. I use just above nudes. Try a shade darker on inner lip to make them look pouty.
I use eye colors that compliment my skin not my clothes. I won't use a teal eyeshadow, by itself, but I will use it to compliment a smokey eye
I use a light eyeliner under my eyes and a dark to outline the top in the wing like fashion(just me, lol,)
eyelashes are great!
Light blush to accent lips.
I have started also wearing 1-2 shades lighter in the top of my hair and darker in back. Back hair harshens lines and stuff.
Well, that's all I got. It works for me. I still get carded sometimes. lol.
Almost forgot the fountain of youth, a great smile.

THANK you ladies so much!! You all are such a wealth of knowledge!!

I've pulled off 18 before and I'm 25. I did really bright makeup that wasn't "heavy" - "dewey" foundation (like a BB cream), shimmery highlighter, light, sparkly eyeshadow, "natural" looking falsies (not the super heavy and thick ones), sheer blush, and pink gloss. Make sure you cover any discoloration around your eyes, especially under-eyes.
If you like doing heavier makeup, maybe check out some Scene makeup tutorials. That usually tends to read younger.
The most important part, in my experience, is acting young. When I'm bouncy, giggly and energetic guys tend to think I'm younger. Also, wearing younger looking clothes, like the VS Pink undies with stuff written on the butt helps.

I just found some links on this topic the other day on pinterest:

They seem to stress to stay away from powder and certain liner techniques. I'm in my 20's but I've actually taken some of the advice and stopped using powder over my whole face. I just do the T-zone and chin now. I find my bronzer and blush stick better and my makeup stays fresher looking. It's easier to touch up if I need to as well.
Less is more if you want to look younger. Dewy skin try tinted moisturizers a glow to the cheek a pink or peachy blush depending on your skin tone or a stain I like Benetint. For the lips go glossy and a your lips only better color. Also some very subtle highlighter under the eyes.
Stay away from piling it on all else fails Botox! :p
I'm 52. I find whilst less is indeed more, you can go for any look you choose so long as you apply your make up well. And the best trick is attitude...works for me everytime!

I am probably not much help, due to my makeup failures.
I have often read that light lips are youthful. Not bright pinks, but subtle pinks, with a light just a tad darker line that blends around your lip line making them look fuller. But keep it very light, and put a dab of light eye shadow on the center of the bottom lip, lightly. I do this at times and it takes years off me!
I go for light browns or light gray liners. I like them smudged gently, they look very nice on me that way and yet not loud and messy. Stay away from pinks on the eye, they make you look tired.
Light brown mascara, curl it well, never clump it. Or use a fake lash that is a neutral color just to ad length.
Checks should be light pinkish like you pinch them and see that glow? That is how they should look, I can't use anything glossy it shines way too much, I prefer a slight matte blush, it stays and does not settle into fine lines if kept away from the eyes, apples of cheeks only.
Lights brighten and ad youth, darks cast shadows and ad years! Same for hair. BUT... too blonde over 40 and you look older, go golden blonde or very light brown tones, with golden around the face like the sun would do.
Hair styles matter too. Long straight hair can drag an older face down. Bouncy waves and curls ad youth imo. bangs hide frown lines, not too wispy they the look too thin, but a tad thicker bang.
Me... I look better with my light (almost can't see them) brows. My eyes pop out more. I do pencil in brows often but with a very light bownish color using a shadow, works for me, pencil can be too harsh for me.
I am super light skin, with blue/green eyes and some freckles I hide. Freckles can be youthful, but I hate mine.
hair pulled up or back is youthful for work as well. High pony tails.
Too much shine is clownish IMO, too much dark is clownish/old IMO.
Look at pictures of christy Brinkley if you have her skin tone, or Cindy Crawford if you have her skin tone, or Oprah if you have her skin tones. Pictures of them today, they look damn good! I am talking about their makeup, forget any plastic surgery that may have been done. Always look at the makeup only not their facial features, we are all different.
Go light on the face, it's sunny, young us again! You can still wear lots of it, have fun!

HIGHLIGHT THE RIGHT AREAS. Get a light refracting highlighter....powder, pencil, a shimmery pale butter colored eyeshadow if nothing else is available.![]()

I'm almost 27 but can pass for 18 (or younger; I've had guys put me at 15 - 16) using this method:
- Go sparingly with foundation and either just use where you need it most, or just use concealer instead.
- No eyeshadow. If you must, use a very light, natural brown or even light bronzer to emphasize eye shape only (outer lid).
- Use an eyelash curler, but don't go too extreme with the lash curling. I never use fake lashes for this look.
- Use a light tawny brown pencil (I just use my brow pencil, which is a light-med brown) for eyeliner JUST on the outer corners of the eye. Never line the waterline for this as it will make your eyes appear smaller. Young = innocent = eyes as convincingly large as you can get away without without looking fake.
- Use the same light-med brow pencil to draw on very light freckles on the cheeks and nose. "Pat" these areas to help them look more natural.
- Go for a very natural looking blush the same tone as your natural blush.
- Lip balm to keep the lips looking fresh.
- Go very easy on the powder!
If you have a naturally youthful looking face and you're using this method, you might be able to get away with something as bold as red lipstick, even better if it's ever so slightly smudged on.
At times I've found that using red lipstick can aid the appearance of looking very young, because once the rest of your look is together, you end up just looking like a teenager "trying" to look grown up, which actually makes you look younger as a result. This is very "Lolita"esque, as Dominique Swain rocked the red lipstick in that film, and I think the stylist knew exactly what she / he was doing with that.![]()

Add- Sleep is the best way to always look fresh and Young. Less makeup is needed if You are well rested.

Taking care of your skin should be a top priority. Makeup can only do some much. Also don't cake it on and make sure your makeup matches your skin tone. It also helps to have the right hair color for your skin tone. So many people dye their hair blonde and looked washed out, even with makeup on.
the less makeup the better; in general but you do want to give yourself a flawless complexion. try to keep it dewy. and honestly, LASHES. use some "wispy" style falsies to accentuate the doe eye look! i HIGHLY recommend katy perry's eyelash glue; that stuff HOLDS. i once went out ended up on a harley, drinking moonshine and in multiple hot tubs leading up to an majorly epic 'eventful' evening and those suckers stayed on through the next day with that glue!![]()

+1 on the freckles idea that incant suggested. i actually had mine tattooed on, they look natural and REALLY add to the school girl look. using a brown pencil also works if you are good, i remember they used to make a "freckle pencil" but it was discontinued![]()
two loose braids, or pigtails as long as they are put down low and loose!

Less = More
Mascara/false lashes only (no eyeliner!)
Light hue on eyelids and around lacrimal ducts
Use a dark/color shadow on browbone only until halfway across eye
Highlight browbones
Highlight cheekbones
Fill in hollows of cheek with bronze-color and under jawline
Use a lip-plumping clear or light gloss

I'm 27 and pass as a 17/18 year old when I'm all dolled up. The eyes and cheeks are what I concentrate on. I fill my eyebrows, no eye shadow, I use a thick black eyeliner though. I wing it out just slightly at the very end. I use doll style eyelashes, I think the whispy ones work really well too. I also pick a very pale pink blush and keep it to the apples of my cheeks. No matter the amount of makeup you wear you have to act young or they won't believe it. I agree with the other ladies, act fun, bouncy, lively, sweet, have fun with it.

as long as you have confidence and a great attitude most of these guys dont care .. . i used to do my makeup as if i were going out .. im talking photoshoot ready and guys would say oooh nice makeup and others didnt notice. just like i would always wear a sexy outfit and thinking oh this is going to get guys attention and ready.. nope i wore nothing but basic tank top and panties this week and still made the same i did before ... my attitude never changed
i used to only wear nude or light pink lips .. ive been wearing red lipstick all week.. even a rich orange .. guess what.. i got even more compliments on my lips and actually a few fetish shows just for that.
ive work dark smokey eye to just simply liner and lashes .. i just make sure that i stay consistent in keeping my image of being well put together and cheerful!
Botox, water. Clarisonic brush and coconut oil!

I'm 25 and on cam I pass for 18-20. I rarely wear makeup off cam and treat my skin well. WEAR SUNSCREEN. And moisturize like crazy.
on cam, I wear a thin layer of matte foundation, go crazy on those dark circles and cover my eyelids with both. It really brightens them up. I don't wear eyeliner or eyeshadow but use a black mascara and Benefit Gimme Brow for full brows. I don't pluck them either. I have small lips so I use lipliner but fill it in completely and touch up between shows. I also use Revlon Just Bitten and Lip Butters for color, and sometimes gloss too. 8
I let my curly hair dry naturally for a "just got fucked" look, most of the time. And get mani/pedis in girly colors and wear cute lingere.
I work out and try to stay fit. And I SMILE A LOT on cam.![]()
