^Someone posted this link in another thread. But, I liked the way it was relatively nonbiased; they portrayed their first hand, real, organic experience (instead of steering the documentary in a way that either glorified or condemned exotic dancing in general).

I agree with Olive. As I was watching I wondered why they would not try a club in a better area - but I suppose that they would not have had the same free access as they did at the dump they choose. I don't think Rick's or Hustler or Flash-dance in NYC would be so accommodating. What struck me most was the loneliness of the strippers who worked there full time and the customers. I think someone in the video said that the dancers have to psychologists as well as dancers? I suppose that is true. Overall I like the video. I have no plans of ever going to New Mexico - but if I do that club is off my list.

Well that is another reason I admire strippers s much - Not only do they "bare all" they have to listen to the junk in some other peoples lives. And for that dancers should be paid well. I dont know if this is coming out how I intended it - i need more coffee! I want to watch this again .....

What annoyed me most was watching the customers snapped at the girls in the first video and they just took it. I would have been like who the fuck do you think you're talking to like that? You can hang out in misery by yourself, peace! And then I come to find out they made I believe was $49 that day and the next like a little over $20.
These girls were also hanging outside with the guys during work; boosting up their ego. Oh hell no pay me. And don't even get me started on that nasty roach motel they had to stay at. That club is nothing but charity work.
Showed positives and negatives so didn't seem too biased. But did y'all notice the weird lullaby music?
Overall, I liked that video series/documentary.
Kinda reminds me of something I can relate to - being super nervous and scared starting out and not having much guidance until I discovered this forumWhen I first started I would chat with customers and listen to them but some of them had depressing stories and that really fucked up my hustle. Learned the hard way about the best ways to make money while keeping the mood light and flirty.
Funny because I got offered to work a club which I found out to be a truckstop strip club and there is NOOOO way I could do it. Hats off to the girls that do but not for me. Coming home with $46 for having to deal with all that would suck sweaty balls.

That was pretty good. I like Vice and I was a bit worried they'd botch it. I kind of wished it were a full 90 min movie to capture the mundane, slow and repetitive parts of the business with all the crazy shit that happens too, but what they did with 30 mins was pretty even and entertaining with the characters they found. I'm sure that's why they went to that truck stop and not a major city club.

^A lot of that, "hanging outside with the guys", was for the camera IMO. It was good, as it gave some insight into trucker's stories as well. If they were really there to make money they would have tried to sell lap dances, which they initially avoided (when the red head finally did her first she had her nipple licked by the customer![]()

Totally for the camera, I believe the hanging outside with the customers was so they could hear the them talk. Inside, the music would drown out any attempt of recording a conversation.

Additionally, you also posted a darn good review on a customer oriented site. I guess you can take credit for coining the phrase "where strippers go to die."
Now for the documentary itself, very interesting. I wonder how representative this would be of "the experience" in other clubs as a whole. (i.e., one in a large city/metro area.) I also wonder if the other strippers would have given these 2 newbies the time of day if the cams weren't present and running.
I'm right 96% of the time.I don't sweat
the other 5% .......................

I would think so. Yes, there's competition and even good girls have bad bitch days, but every club has dancers who will help a newbie out in my experience.
As far as another club? A city club would be interesting as the characters change -- the big spender professionals, young broke party boys, the mixed-sex group looking for excitement, and then the pimps and hobby guys.

^Most clubs would have refused their proposal/request to film on the premises, unless they were compensated finically. So, a small establishment like this was probably one of their only options. Also, a high percentage of dancer's wouldn't want to appear on film either, for obvious reasons. In fact, it's probably the main reason why they didn't show a lot of ITC footage, why they only interviewed a small number of women and why the interviews took place OTC.
A club I worked at had a "documentary film crew" come in to interview willing dancers. Needless to say, only 5 out of the 200+ girls working for the company volunteered (and 3 of them were foreign, so they essentially had "nothing to lose").
