lol I think it's funny that since I have my GEO blocked in my city, I can't even see my own placement because it makes myself invisible to myself viewing. x__x

so heres my work around... last weekend i was looking around at my local pawn shop just checking prices.. saw a laptop that had everything i need! for only $149. came out to $100 because the battery is shit and has to stay plugged. get home ready to work.. the fucker has 2 processors running at 2.30ghz but its not a i5 or i7 so it still runs at 85-99% so i just took everything off except anti virus, and streamate shit.. that laptop is my streamate hd highest xml file and my other laptop is my other sites i cam on and skype ect.. its another temp solution until i just get a damn desktop that i can upgrade on my own...
still here.... just in another chapter..

I never have split cam. Feel that you must master each site to make the most off of it.
Each time I invest into better equipment my sales increase 20% immediately.
I see girls split cam who have lower placement, your feed is boring. SM guys want your full attention, not part of it. If you are a TOP girl & can handle more than one cam site at a time are girls who should split cam. Otherwise you are killing your own sales.
When I started even in the porn category I used to be on the bottom of the third page. I worked hard & bought better web cam, better internet, better laptop. Never quit camming for the day at just $100. My placement now is AWESOME!
Make no mistake, I earned it. I also tripled the amount of pics I posted on twitter & tweet all day long to get more traffic to my cam shows.
Get an I7, get the fastest internet & concentrate just on SM all day long for a week & see your sales & placement increase.

So I have this theory about placement... I may be wrong, but... I believe consistency play a big part in it too... For example... I was on every single day for 6 weeks, averaging about 6-7hr a day... after 6 weeks placement jumped to the top of the first page... then I took some time off after an amazing night and it dropped by A LOT. I also tried to recall every single time I had a super good placement and it seems to always be around time after spending 6 weeks being online almost every day... Now I been on for 4 weeks, almost every single day on average of 6-7hrs a day. So if this theory is true after 2 more weeks I should see a drastic increase in placement as long as my average income is about the same as it is now... Will see how true this is... Ill let you guys know...

This is what I think as well.
I took two full weeks off from SM and my placement went way down (okay way down as in row 5 or 6 instead of row 1 - 3, and just a few rows happens to make a big difference for me). Even when I did get on for 2 or 3 days the next couple weeks and made $100/hr, I was still pretty far down from my usual placement. Only now when I'm putting in more hours consistently am I starting to go back where I was before.
I have noticed they seem to update placement more often now, and consistently being online WHILE making decent money seems to be a really big factor. And ratings, I always move up when I get a lot of ratings.

Yes! The same is true for me. When I was making $100+ an hour average, my placement was in rows 1 - 3, logging on a few hours each night.
I am making maybe $30 - $70 an hour row 5 or less... It makes a HUGE difference! This is exactly why I check it every time I log on. It gives me a massive positivity boost when I see it going back up because oh holy fuck I'm looking forward to my old hourly average! *_* I will get theeere!

Based on my own placement, I don't think that total hours worked or total earnings is a big factor. I think % of time spent in paid and consistency are a really big part of the equation, though.
I can compare my stats with the info Kourtney gave, since she is one of the few that has provided some hard numbers, and with Sarah since she is open with some of her details (and I tend to perv on her a lot). I'm not trying to be weird or competitive, just offering my evidence.
I'm usually placed on rows 2-3, and fall to rows 4-5 if I get on in the evening when a lot of higher placed ladies are online. Theoretically, I am probably placed slightly above Kourtney, and I know for sure that I'm placed slightly below Sarah.
At the moment, I work VERY few hours and my total earnings are quite low (<$500/week). So if placement is based on hours worked and dollars earned, I have no business being placed where I am! There's no way that I work more hours or earn more than Kourtney, and I wouldn't be anywhere near Sarah at all.
The most likely factor that would put me between the two of them is % in paid chat, which for me is usually 40-60%. Kourtney listed her % in paid as quite a bit lower (which works for her because she probably charges much more than I do). I'm guessing that Sarah has pretty high % in paid, because it doesn't seems like she's in free chat all that much. So if % in paid is a major part of the placement equation, my placement makes more sense.
I've improved my consistency a lot this past month, in terms of trying to get online 5 days of the week, even if it's only for a little while. Within about a week of increasing my consistency, I jumped from row 2-3 of the 2nd page up to the placement I'm at now. So it seems like the number of days you get online, even for a small amount of time, is probably a big factor in placement.
I'm pretty certain that using the encoder, sound, and maybe offering phone boost your placement. My ratings are all good, so that makes sense as a factor, too. I assume average hourly earnings is probably in there somewhere, too.
I wonder if the SM people get a kick out of watching us try to puzzle out the placement thing. They're probably reading this like, "Oooh, those SW girls are over there doing math and logic problems, how cute! Wait, they're getting a little too close to the truth - change the algorithm and confuse them again!" It's a modern day tower of Babel! LOL

I'm going to stop checking my placement though because it never predicts how my shift is going to go.

In conclusion, we really have no idea! haha
I'm kind of all over in percentage in paid... some days it's 30%, some it's 60% in paid now that I went back to pvt/excl only with maaaaybe 1 gold show per night. This week so far is 40% overall, last week was 42% overall. I think Magical_Hoohah's theory makes a lot of sense!
Magical_Hoohah say hi sometime if you are logged in! I never mind models stopping in to say hey![]()

All this makes sense... After all it is a puzzle of things, but I would like to figure out what has most weight. Im stuck at the bottom of the first page and can't get it moving if I have $400 night or $20 night... It's the same darn thing... So I think Ill drastically drop my pvt price, spend a high percentage in paid (now it is usually only around 25-30%) and see how much that moves me... Dropping to the second page at night when it's a peak time is hurting my earning badly...
