    Default Another Newb.

    Hello Everyone,

Firstly I just wanted to thank the creator and all the posters within this forum; it has been an absolute wealth of information. I'm 21 and have been thinking about becoming a dancer for the past three months, researching by following girls on twitter, tumblr, facebook, etc. and reading some auto-biographies. I've also started using google reviews to find out what kind of men frequent the clubs I'm interested in, what they like and dislike, etc. I'm based in Kent, in the UK, just below London, so I have been emailing London clubs and got a couple of replies about auditions; Platinum Lace, The Windmill, Metropolis and Spearmint Rhino. I appreciate there aren't too many UK users here, and from what I've read, it sounds like a tough market. My friend works in Stringfellows and is going through what she is calling a "dry patch" (but she still earns double the amount I earn in a day!)

I've read all of the Newbie Sticky Threads which have been really useful. I'm getting quite excited about 'creating' my stripper persona. I do have some little niggles in the back of my mind, which have been addressed on the forum but they're still there:

    1) I have tiny boobs. I mean 30A tiny. I'm very slim and toned and I'm happy with the way my body looks but I'm just not sure if men will feel the same amongst all the lovely boobs! But hey, you don't know until you give it a try.

    2) I can't really dance. I feel good when I dance, and I think I could blag it with attitude, but I mean... I have a little doubt in my mind that when I'm up on that stage, completely starkers in front of girls who have been doing it for ages, and men who are used to seeing fluid rhythmic movements that I might just freeze with images of Pinocchio flashing through my brain! (Hopefully this won't happen...)

I guess I've already made my mind up that I'm going to give it a go, since I have nothing to lose and y'know, try everything once. I have firm ideas about budget and what I want to achieve with any money I make, but it's hard to budget savings when you have no idea what you will earn. I'm posting here because I was just wondering if maybe I'm over-thinking things. Before I audition I am planning to get 10 weeks worth of pole lessons (y'know, to actually touch one for a start), hit the gym to get some flexibility and more fluidity to my movement (hopefully). I was also going to invest in a proper manicure, pedicure and spray tan before my audition, and of course, a new outfit. This means I probably won't even have my audition for another 2 months. I'm wondering if I should just bite the bullet and go in completely new (lamb to the slaughter?) and do my nails and tan myself, and hope for the best, and go to the gym, etc once I'm earning?

For the first few months I am planning to keep my day job and work Thurs, Fri, Saturday, then go part-time at my day job and work Tuesday-Saturday, and then eventually dance full time. Hope I'm not getting too ahead of myself....

Anyway, sorry for my ridiculously long post, I just wanted to say hi, thank you and to voice some anxieties which I guess everyone has at first (?!).

    Thanks,
    Lily.

breast size doesn't matter that much. i'm an A/small B and i do just fine. lots of guys love tiny boobs and if you have a nice body in general, pretty face and you keep yourself looking your best you will be fine!!
when you start, of course you wont know how to dance! no newbie does. you can talk gymnastics, ballet, modern dance, et and still look very new and awkward up there because its not a dance style you are used to and you are nervous. don't worry about it.
i'd just go in there in my nicest outfit, do my own nails and get a self tanner and go for it. then buy stripper shoes the minute you have the money. don't spend a lot because you may not like it

Haha, that's all good to hear. Although when I say I can't dance I mean my friends take the piss out of how wooden and out of time I am! I have been practicing a bit and apparently it's got a bit better...

    That's good advice, thank you.

For now I just have some 4.5 inch nude heels. Hopefully they're okay for an audition. Not sure where to find a long dress that I can remove easily and that will flatter my tiny frame.

normal heels are gonna hurt like hell to dance in, so maybe buy a 40 dollar pair of clear ones, but only if you really think you're set on dancing. check the dress code of the club too. i've found mini dresses are a good go-to, long ones ( unless they have a bit sexy slit up the side and are really tight) look a little too frumpy and are hard to move in

2nd-ing Simone's suggestion re: shoes. Civilian heels w/ a good, solid platform will be workable at first (provided they are permitted; don't know if this is the case in the UK but in many areas of the US, heel hgt requirements are determined by local laws) until you can get sm 'real' shoes. This is a helpful thread on the subj

You def do not have to get your nails professionally done; I have always done mine at home & then kept the current nail colour in my dance bag to repair chips. If you go the self-tanning route I would strongly recommend a lotion over a spray as the sprays can sm times rub off on furniture, stages, & ppl you dance for. Just apply it well in advance of going into work, as lotion rubbing off on the pole/stage can endanger your coworkers & yourself by making those surfaces slippery.

Gym & pole classes certainly won't hurt, but you will not need 10 wks of pole to make you 'stripper ready'. Again this may also be a regional thing as it is in the US but the majority of your $$ will not come from pole tricks unless you are in an urban club. Def take a few classes to get acclimated, & if you love it then stick w/ it, but pole work will most likely not be your bread&butter at work. You can also work out at home via yoga/running/etc if you are trying to cut costs, & it will serve you just as well.

Hi im also from Kent originally. Dont worry about not being able to dance. From how you describe yourself you should get hired at most london clubs.

And dont worry about having no boobs. When you go in you will see than loads of girls have tiny boobs and make good money. Some clubs in london can be picky about weight and cellulite but it doesn't sound like that would be an issue for you

Welcome around! Honestly, I wouldn't bother wasting your time sending emails to clubs. Just call and ask about the audition process (ie. if they only audition on certain days/shifts) and then pick a day to go into the city and go to your top choice and work your way down the list if needed.

You are without a doubt over-thinking this. You absolutely do not need to waste your time and money on pole lessons or any other investments -- even manicures and outfits. Go with the best you've got for your audition and slowly decide on investments once you're actually working and can determine if they'll be worthwhile or not. Seriously, just bite the bullet and start making money now!

sorry for the threadjack, but all you UK girls make me want to visit england so badly. i love tudor history, esp. anne boleyn.

anywho, i definitely think you've got the right idea in keeping your day job for awhile first to see if you transition well. i have a day job too after seven years of dancing, and i find that the two jobs, being polar opposites, balance out my life and attitude quite well.

and don't worry about your boobs. i had a lumpectomy two years ago (still have a 5" scar and everything) and the guys still love my boobs. if your breasts are really small, i'd also like to suggest not ever getting them done (since you seem to be worried about the size) unless you plan on doing fat grafting. it's only my humble opinion but i feel like girls who have no breast fat to begin with end up having implants that look like skipping stones. o_O

I got my tits done and I love them. That being said not everyone wants huge knockers. They get me noticed, but they don't guarantee I'll close the sale. I have 2 friends that are around your size that I have wooed over to the "Dark Side" and they love it so far. *shrug* To each their own. You decide you want a pair of tits down the road get them. If not don't sweat it. Personally I'd rather see a slender cute IBTC member than a 200llb heifer with a 38 long bra size and FUPA. The high end clubs will be more concerned with your overall body than the size of your chest.

If you can't dance don't worry about it. Best thing to do is move slowly and point your toes.
