Default Elle Canada Future of Porn Article

Hopefully I can post this link...if not someone just let me know HOW lol

    http://www.ellecanada.com/relationsh...porn/a/84233/2

Elle Canada did an article on cam models that I was interviewed for! Pretty neat..only ONE misquote...I was asked what my most common requests where [tits ass] and my weirdest request..but it's put in the article like it's a common request.. I answered that some guy once asked me to hide drugs in my no-no spots so he could pretend to be border patrol for tokens. I declined. Only annoyed me a bit cooosss I would hate for people think I commonly jam drugs in my body on cam OR get asked to often...lol ><

    Otherwise great article =D

I loved your contributions, Pepper! "Narnada" made me laugh out loud.

Overall, the writer seemed rather lazy and lacking in journalistic ability. For example:

As the largest free sexcam site (users can sign up and view performers for free but must pay to make a request), Cam4 is the most heavily searched website in its category.
What is "largest"? Most models, most clients, most unique/overall traffic? The article makes Cam4 sound like the be-all end-all of webcam modeling - no other sites are mentioned. I think he saw the Cam4 homepage's "the largest xxx webcam community online" claim and just went with it, despite the fact that it is most certainly not the "free sexcam site" getting the most traffic. (Compare Cam4 and MFC's Alexa stats, for example.)

There could be another downside to cam sex, though. A new syndrome dubbed SADD, or sexual attention deficit disorder, stems from the over-consumption of porn on the Internet. In the grips of this intimate ADD, those afflicted can no longer focus on real sex with another person. They have trouble maintaining an erection or can only climax with manual or oral encouragement. While this condition isn’t strictly caused by live-sex websites, the platform does cultivate an infatuation with what’s out of reach.
Except that "SADD" is the conceptual creation of a single pop sex writer/sex therapist. The article misleadingly implies that it's a legitimate ADD-related diagnosis.

Masturbating to an onscreen performer is not sex, but the result is the same if one is simply looking to orgasm. It’s an unromantic and terrifying trend where intimacy is concerned, but is it preferred to a real, live partner?
First off, "terrifying"? Um. Second, people who're only looking to orgasm can do so for much less time and money than what the typical customer spends on webcam models. Most of my customers aren't watching me so they can eliminate intimacy before cumming, they're watching me because they *want* a little intimacy with their orgasm! An even more bizarre claim when you consider that he quoted just one cam customer in the entire article, and that customer indicated significant social benefits from his time perving.

Hhahaha yah there was a bit of a dodgy writing style going on for sure..lol
Inappropriate words here and there for the subject matter...and I didn't FIB about Narnada. I outright told him a smart cam girl doesn't reveal her location and that I am adimant about it enough that I tell people I am from the ficticious land of Narnada. I did find it amusing that he made it seem like he figured me out, not that I told him ><

I think it is very rare for a non-industry person to accurately convey our industry in a way we would approve of or agree with - unless you do it - people just dont get it - I find it amusing how they perceive our reality -

lol yep. It was still a pretty good article and it was released in the new Elle Canada managzine, not just online. I do like when media takes an interest in cam modeling that isn't all "online whores being sluts!"
