Default Thinking about doing a green smoothie cleanse

I recently bought a nutribullet and I've been obsessed with it. Every day I've been starting my mornings with a green smoothie with carrots, kale, spinach, ginger, and some mixed berries. I've been feeling SO MUCH better (more energized, less cravings, etc) since I've been starting it. It's a great way to get in a ton of veggies on the go.

I'm thinking about doing a green smoothie cleanse where all I "eat" is green smoothies for as long as I can. I'm thinking realistically like 3 days but I'm hoping to do it for like a week.

I want to do this because I've been struggling to lose weight and I feel like it would be a good way to "restart" my system.

Any thoughts or advice? Has anyone ever done this? I'm actually kind of excited about it, knowing how good they make me feel already...

I make these all the time. One of my favorites is not sweet, so it may be an acquired taste. Lemon is key because it brings it all together, and avocado gives it a smoothie consistency. 1 cup purified waterJuice of lemon wedge Little bit of avocadoKale or other greens CucumberCelery Dash of cayenne pepper (optional)You can switch it up or not use all the ingredients. I like to use parsley as well. If you like sweet you could make a carrot, apple, ginger smoothie. It's not green, but also healthy and tastes good. 1cup waterJuice of lemon wedgeHandful carrots (leave skin on)Half of AppleBeets (if available)Small piece of fresh ginger (a little goes a long way)

I love green smoothies! After a month of me having one in the morning I noticed a big energy difference. I need to start doing them again soon

i just got a nutribullet recently too, and love it
i've been thinking about going on a green smoothie cleanse as well. I got both kale and spinach. Usually when I make smoothies I'll mix it with strawberries, blueberries, rasberries, and a banana. I also usually use ensure to give it more of a milkshake taste.
oh and another thing i just started using are chia seeds, they're supposed to have several health benefits and should help aid with weight loss

can someone tell me if/how a nutribullet is better than a regular blender?

A nutribullet is high powered and will liquify what you put in it. It's also EXTREMELY easy to clean. You fill the cup with what you want, and the blades are in the lid. You screw the lid on, then pop it upside down in the base, and press down for about thirty seconds. When it's done, all the cleaning you need to do is to take the lid off and give it a good rinse real quick. THAT'S IT!! :-) plus washing the cup Sven you're done but it's ten times easier and faster clean up than most blenders.

I tried only "eating" smoothies that I made in my nutribullet. My smoothies always consist of spinach/kale, a banana, pineapple, mango, peach and avocado. I didn't do it for a cleanse. I live across the street from a fruits and veggies market and I don't drive so it was just convenient for me to make smoothies rather than constantly order delivery. Anywho, my 100% smoothie diet did not last long.

I lasted for a whopping 2 days. I drink a lot of Hennessy at work. With the liquor, I really needed solid food. The smoothies were not enough. I was starving and just didn't feel good. Then on the end of the second day, (this will be TMI, stop reading if you don't want to hear something gross) I had this sudden strong stomach cramp, I went to the bathroom and had the craziest explosive liquid-y poo. Luckily I was at my house during this cause it was unexpected and sudden to say the least. After that incident, I started eating solid foods again and everything went back to normal. Perhaps the explosive smoothie poo was my bowels way of telling me that they've been cleansed.

Now I work every night so I get food at work or afterwards (usually a Caesar salad with chicken) and while I'm home, I'll (try to) only eat leftovers from the night before and smoothies. The smoothies are good and all but without some solid food, I'm starving. Perhaps if I stopped drinking liquor, the smoothies would be enough but with my constant hangover, a smoothie is like a snack that I'll eat before going on Grubhub to order some real food.

^^ yeah, i get what you're saying. I'm working a 9-5 right now so drinking at work isn't a problem for me (but i AM trying to get back in to dancing eventually). this week i'm doing what i would call a "partial cleanse" since i plan on drinking this weekend for my friend's birthday but next week i plan on doing a full fledged cleanse. I've been eating a light breakfast, having 3 green smoothies throughout the day, work out, then a normal protein/veggie dinner. honestly my workouts haven't been able to be as intense as usual but otherwise i feel SO much better. just "cleaner". I have been going to the bathroom a lot more, but i look noticeably thinner, and have a healthy "glow" that i haven't had in a long time, along with much more energy and just feeling happier. I honestly can't wait for my cleanse next week!!

I only do cleanses when I know Im going to be in the house for a few days and I just rest because my energy levels are super low during this time. Infact, sleeping alotttttt lol is what helped me get through my last cleanse. Right when it turns spring is the best time to do it, also if youre into moon cycles you can find the right one to detox on which gave me better results me good luck

Adding smoothies to your diet is a great way of getting in the fruit and veg that are usually missing from our diets. A few of my friends 'juiced' (only drink juice for 15days) and were raving about how great they felt. If you haven't done it before and have an intense job then you might be better off substituting a smoothie or juice for just one meal or snack.
