At least you had more success this time...to keep things rolling, it's one of the highest-distribution papers (and seen as the "cerebral" one) newspaper in Canada, so it's not as widespread as a major US outlet, but hey, it's a good start to put out good press....

Given the more liberal views normally seen in the Globe's viewership, it will be interesting to view the comments made...
As I said before, I think she's courageous, but ultimately I think her best chance of success will be to move to a more progressive-thinking area of the US.

If you don't expect it, you are naive. Not all people are courteous, as you drivers well know. That's all I'm saying. The fact that you turned this post into that indicates strong sensitivity to it. And that on a stripper site where you want attention in a club; you should not be that naive.
It has nothing to do with any 'rape' culture; it is just normal human response. Women looking at guys (or even other women) in general are more subtle about it, but we know it is there too.
I loved going to strip clubs; I actually made some friends there. Now things are different for the clubs and for me. As a result I am not as happy.
Customers are not entitled to grope, disrespect, or rob strippers. This is their job, not their hobby, and they all need income. Clubs are not just some erotic show for guys to view while drinking.

You're not very clear with this. The point is that it's trashy to dis people. No one here is naively saying there are no trashy people in the world, they are saying that trashiness is a BAD thing.
Maybe someday, there will be scientific proof that many people truly lack impulse control, and dont' just choose not to control their impulses. In that case, maybe norms that sexy people wear baggy cloths in public, that merchandise be kept in locked display cases, etc. would make sense. But for now I think we need to give the human race the benefit of the doubt, that we are capable of not acting like lower animals. People have the right to flaunt their physical attractiveness, as much as they do to flaunt their wealth with jewelry, label clothing, expensive cars, etc.

There's two different threads about this, can one of the moderators combine them?

Is this in response to me? Because yeah I do have strong sensitivity to harassment, it's been a daily problem in my life since age 13. And yes, saying "she asked for it because she dressed like that" is part of rape culture. It's one thing to look but catcalling and harassing (and calling a woman abusive names or threatening her with violence when she rejects you, or trying to follow her home, or exposing yourself to her) is crossing a line and men who do that stuff need to be accountable for their actions. Stop with the "boys will be boys" crap.
Sorry for getting off topic, OP.

No, it wasn't directly about you.

Ugh, just no to all the nice guy stuff in this thread. Now I am not suggesting that being an obnoxious douche is justified becuse a woman is attractive. People who act that way can't be serious and if they are they need to see how dumb they look, as a courtesy.
This idea that men should be so concerned with offending a woman by showing some interest is nonsense and completely wrong. Feminism hasn't changed the dynamic between the sexes. Men approach, women select. Sure some women like to be the hunter, but that is not the norm. From what I can tell 'huntresses' are usually looking for weak men they can dominate, but that is kind of general. The truth is that if the woman finds you attractive and wants you to approach her then it is a welcome thing. Otherwise it isn't. Pretty simple.
I realize sex workers are probably hyper sensitive to being pestered about being attractive when they aren't on the clock. That is completely fair. Attractive women are probably tired of being objectified for their looks in general. It isn't my job to try to cold read every woman I see and try to figure out their life story before deciding to say hi or give them a little smile. Give the white knight stuff a rest imo, there is no need to be so deferential. In real life this just amounts to talking yourself out of ever approaching women because X and Y and maybe she looks mean because of some Z... Which is dumb.
Sort of back on topic. The number of sex partners thing is interesting though. I think this tends to matter more to people who have an almost opposite sexual history (few and many, many and few) and maybe also the kind of relationship. It might be different depending on whether the person is more of FWB than the one and only, or if both people arent thinking the same thing as far as seriousness/status. Women have incentive to be liars in this area, so I never listen to what they say. You can tell from the signs where they are in the experience scale. Guys always lie about the numbers too, but everyone knows that.

Oddly an article about this in the local rag... this is a fairly conservative area compared to most of NYS, which admittedly is not that conservative. (For example, LE allows strip clubs with liberal rules, but ran the street prostitutes and rub and tug joints out of town. Maybe there is an little tit for tat going on with the clubs here.)
Make of the article what you will, but there are always nuts that take their holier-than-thou propaganda way too far. SU is a fairly liberal school, sort of hoping she will move to an area which could more readily accept her working life.
