Default Thinking about it... want to do it... what do I do?

Okay so I've always wanted to try and be a dancer. My hours at work just got cut so I figured this would be a perfect opportunity to finally do it. I found the club I want to try at, BUT I get scared once I think about being on stage. I have no clue what to do? How do I approach guys after to give them lapdances? And how catty should I expect the girls to be? Also where do I keep the money?

Time to move from thinking abt it to reading abt it, then. Start w/ the stickies on this board & in Hustle Hut(the latter of which should become your Bible) & the search function will turn up multiple threads abt purses vs garters vs whatever else you can think of to carry your $$ in.

Other dancers, management, and customers will be far more understanding than you think they will be. Everyone was new once and knows where you're coming from.
It's hard not to overthink every detail, but no matter how much research you do on any website before you begin, you'll never know until you just go to the club and ask for an audition.
The only preparation you should worry about is getting shoes, an outfit, and any license your city may require. Start by calling the club you want to work at, ask when they do auditions, if you need a license, and if they have any outfit requirements. Then just go in and get your money!
    Good luck!

keep your money on you at all times, either in a garter ( make sure its very strong so you don't lose your money), or a little purse.
everyone will know you are brand new, and will cut you some slack. honestly, stage was my biggest fear when i started..but you just gotta go for it, don't over think it. watch the other girls on stage. ignore the other girls unless one of them talks to you first and keep your head down. you'll be fine

You know, SW is ENORMOUSLY helpful but one thing I always really wanted that I never saw was a "day in the life of a stripper" kind of thing. Most tips are more general or vague or overviews of broad concepts (or about tiny details), and I had a hard time understand what a stripper actually DOES on a day by day basis. So now that I'm a baby stripper, let me break it down for you:

-First, your audition is going to be specific to your club. Call and ask exactly what to wear, when to show up, and what you'll do when you get there. Don't be scared of sounding retarded, they won't know it's the same person when you actually show up.

-Once you're hired, your managers will go through all your paperwork and "official" stuff, and you'll get some basic training from the house mom, DJs, managers, whatever other people work there. Never be scared to ASK a question. Yeah it's gonna feel awkward at first, but that's okay. It won't always feel that way.

-So once you're hired, this is what a typical day may look like...at least what they look like at my club:

6:40 pm: Show up, sign the roster saying I'm here, pay my house fee. Go in the back and get dressed and freshen up my hair/makeup.
7:00: Tell the DJ that I'm here and to put me on the rotation, tell him if there are any particular songs I want for my first set.
8:00: Sit at the bar alone with some water til my set comes up.
8:15: Go up on stage, dance for two or three songs. I love dancing and would stay up there all night if I could. Get tips and ask the dudes who tip me if they want to "have some fun" when I get done.
8:25: Get off stage, go in the dressing room and blot sweat off myself, powder my face, put my clothes back on and drink water.
8:30: If anyone expressed interest to me on stage, I go immediately to their table. Say, "I'm bored. Let's get this party started. What are we drinking?". Chat and try to sell a lapdance (many tips for this all over this whole forum).
9:00: Get up and walk around, acting like I'm on my way to somewhere but I'm actually scanning the floor for a potential spender. Approach him and do that same hustle all over again, altered for whatever he's like. I drink a few sips of my drink, then pour it out in the dressing room and refill it with water so I don't get too drunk but it looks like I'm "partying".
9:30: Get called up on stage again. After this set, I go in the back and put on a totally different outfit to catch more ppl's attention and bc my last one is getting sweaty.
9:30 to 2:00 am: Repeat this same pattern of dancing, walking around, chatting, lap dances until someone wants me in VIP or something, if that never happens then just repeat.
2:00: Tip the DJ and housemom, put my sweatpants on and go drive through Jack in the Box.

    Hope that helps!

And your other questions: I approach guys confidently, with an "I'm bored/horny/lonely c'mon let's have some fun" attitude. But you'll figure out what works for you. Every girl and every guy are different. You can't expect any level of cattiness from the other girls, each club is different. Everyone at my last club was really nice, there were one or two who were superbitches when drunk but I didn't see them a lot. Keep your money rubber banded around a garter or in a little clutch purse but ONLY if you can keep up with it. Empty money into your locker periodically just in case.

I think that's because things can vary so much by club, that there's no way to specifically spell everything out in a universally applicable way. Like, in some clubs you can skip your stage rotations for the night or barely anyone pays attention to the stage shows. In others, you pay at the end of the night. Some places don't require any tip out. etc. etc. But basically, unless you're in a stage-centric club: sign in, approach customer to chat/hustle, dance for them or move on to someone else depending on their response, and repeat.

OMGosh you are beyond amazing!! Thank you!! That's exactly the type of answer I was looking for. THANK YOU so much for your help. I loved the last part, Jack in the box at 2am. That's probably the only time it actually taste good.

    1) Call the club or show up ready to audition.
2)I don't approach customers first. My tits do.
    3) Most are too busy with making money to give a fuck about other dancers. I recommend you do likewise.
    4)Secured on your person.

Being on stage is amazing. Just embrace it and do what feels natural. You'll learn. It's the best part of the job imo.

Be prepared to work the same night as your audtion. A little drink or weed for your nerves is okay but try sober, it's a good feeling. Don't forget the prices of rooms/dances cuz some guys won't know. Research what type of club you'll be into. Stage w/no floor work...no contact...quick wanna dance or slow convo based. U might be surprised at what you thought you'd like vs reality. You'll have a lot of emotions about what's happening..guys not coming up to you..being comfortable asking for tips..being rejected...body insecurity..lights aren't that flattering
The only way to get rid of a temptation is to indulge in it...
