    Default Keratosis Pilaris

Does anyone suffer? I have this on my thighs and bum. I want to become a dancer in the future but this is holding me back.

If there's any sufferers out there what helps for you? Any creams? Or is there laser surgery for this kind of thing.

Omg, my boyfriend has this! He's had this for years, since before we've met, and we could never figure out what it was (his doctor was no help). I've tried to figure out what it was before and never could, but I googled it after reading your post and it and holy shit that's it!

From that quick google I could find much on a treatment, Wikipedia mentions topical lotions/creams but says they are limited in their effectiveness.

Perhaps body makeup would help? Dermablend is pretty good. Also, maybe try covering it with fishnet, thigh high socks/stockings, body stockings, and bottoms that offer more coverage. It would help to know what kind of club you would be at (topless? Nude? Gown club or a laid back wear whatever club?).

Retinol creams, chemical peels, body scrubs with lots of grit. Retinol will increase your skin turn over rate and help with build up over the hair follicles. Don't try to pop them, they will scar.

i suffer from this too, especially in the winter for some reason. after doing some research and experimentation, if i use a body scrub every time i shower and really scrub them, then use an intensive moisturizer twice a day, it almost goes away.

I've had it since I was little. It use to be on my cheeks but it went away( thank god). My poor daughter inhereited it from me. The only thing that helps and my dad got me all kinds of things when I was little is sugar or salt scrubs twice a week and a good body butter. Body shops is good and keils crème de corp. I have them mostly on my arms but in between trips and I'm lazy and don't exfoliate or put body butter on I get them on my hips and sides of my legs. They go away after a few days of going back to my routine. Don't worry about dancing. Guys always think there goose bumps and I say "yeah your giving me goose bumps' and they like that. Lol.

also, i just remembered this, i read online that wearing really tight clothing can make it worse (kp is technically a blocked pore with hard keratin "plugging" the pore). since I've been wearing looser pants I've seen significant improvement.

If you have normal skin, use a lotion like Clean & Clear (has salicylic acid in it). If you have dry skin, any lotion will do, but a natural one with no parabens & fragrances would be best.

I used to have it on my arms. Dry brushing once a day followed by a vitamin c serum (homemade) got rid of it pretty fast.
