Default What do you do after a bad night...

to keep from getting frustrated? To stay positive and wanting to go in again the next day?

I used to be really bad about beating myself up ... "Maybe I didn't approach enough guys", "Maybe my hustle isn't on par", yada yada. Now I'm way more zen about it, and accepting of the fact that there will be shit days when nobody is buying and that it's not my fault. It's helpful to have a little set of reminders to use for the days when I do start going back to berating myself though.

    Here's my list:
~ Remind myself that I made money the day before so it isn't ME, it's the crowd
~ Skim through Hustle Hut and find a new line to use or some other tip for the next day.. try something new
~ Going out with friends and finding a man to hustle for drinks or just to intimidate makes me feel better >:]

    Or while still at work:
~ Requesting a certain song for your stage set that makes you feel like the hottest girl there
~ Smile even if you're getting dejected

    Anything you girls can add?
"People jack off with the left hand and point with the right."

"You can check out any time you like, but you can never leave."

If I have a really bad night I usually take the next one off and do something fun like go out with my girlfriends, go on a date, go see a movie, go get a massage, etc. I give myself a day to be away from the club and just have fun and get rid of that negative energy. I find I am in a much better mindset when I return. If I have a bad night and then go in the next night, all the negative energy from the night before seems to follow me.

usually when im having a bad night its because
    A. im lazy and i just don't gaf that night , or im being pissy or
    B. its just a bad night and everyone is complaining and doing badly

so i just chock it up to that usually. also i kind of look at it like i do with approaching customers..every no brings me closer to a yes. it can't rain all the time, so i just feel like the next shift will be good which it usually is because i think positively about it. BUT if i am consistently having more bad nights than good ( even when its a good time of the year and other girls are making money), i start to really question my look and hustle and i switch it up by changing my clothes, hair, and hustle. or even sometimes the club. also, sometimes the crowd that night may just not go for my look. some nights you will be sought after and dancing non-stop, and other nights its like pulling teeth to get dances.

I need some motivation, I have gone in once in the past 3 weeks.

    I am my own boss.

    It pays for school.

    It pays my rent.

    I love the atmosphere.

I don't have to be nice to anyone.

I can be a bitch and still make money.

I make money every time I go in.

    I have Monday-Thursday off. Wow. That's awesome.

I get to live in that cute as fuh apartment soon, all I have to do is work.

It's fun to go in and flirt.

Even if I don't make much, I still walk out with more than I came in with.

I never do anything I'm not comfortable with.

Someone might come in that I know, I can talk to them when I'm bored.

I always me money when I go in.

    Phone bill is due tomorrow.

I really do like working, it will be fun to get a nice workout.

I enjoy getting naked and dancing around all night long.

It's Friday, so I will only go on stage 3 times max.

I love making money, I love having cash in hand at the end of the night.

There is no competition, it's only me and my attitude that matters.

I love having fun at work, that's the most important thing. Me, me, me. Then, the money flows to me without effort.

Money always comes to me easily.

    My mangers love me.

    The staff loves me.

The customers love me, they would not be in the building if it weren't for me.

I have nothing else to do tonight, I might as well get paid.

    It will be fun

I always have fun when I go in.

Oh, and at work I change my hair, outfit, make up whatever if I'm getting a lot of no's. I find that not only does it refresh me but it helps with customers. Guys wants to dance with girls that other guys want to dance with, so if they see you repeatedly getting rejected or just sitting around your stock goes down and you begin to be perceived as the girl who nobody wants to dance with. In that environment sometimes just changing from a pink bikini to red lingerie will make you look different enough that they'll think you just arrived and won't remember you were the girl who was sitting around for the last hour with no one to dance with.

^Yep thats what I did. Change an outfit and suddenly sometimes I start making money. Otherwise after a bad night, nothing special since its so unpredictable and just go in the next day and get back to my hustle.

I go to the gym, study even harder and remind myself that the past shifts I worked, I made more than double what I would have made at a vanilla job working as many hours. Sometimes we don't make as much as we would like to, but it can't always be a great night. We're still very lucky when it comes to our earnings.

I find that it really helps to occupy my mind with something else and when it's time to go to work, I tell myself that it's a new day and not yesterday or the shitty shift I worked last time.

I look at my pay stubs from my HR job as a staffing specialist to remind me that I'm now making more in one shift as a dancer than I used to take home in a week at my office job. It also reminds me that I have options and that I choose to be a dancer.

Another way I motivate myself is to look at my earnings over the month. When I'm able to work 6 days a month and still pay all my bills it makes me feel great. I keep a spread sheet with all my earnings and expenses. I also average my daily earnings. When I look at my *average* day, I feel much better.

I definitely forgot to write what Sansonnet said - normally changing outfits works great. If I'm having a bad day in my normal black, often changing to hot pink turns it around.

Your "stock going down" is totally true; if I need to take a break, I sit in the dressing room or else in the back corner by the cook so the guys don't see me sitting around and get that idea. So many girls at my club sit in the customer chairs on their phones and then I watch them get rejected by all the guys who saw them sitting there... we are not allowed to be normal girls Facebooking to alleviate boredom, gotta be the fantasy girl who swoops out of nowhere after presumably being somewhere exciting!

Audrey is also totally right about the negative energy. I am taking a few days off to avoid the end/beginning-of-the-month rent money frenzy. Today I went out and bought some small things (new lipstick and eyeshadow) which cost $10 but got me excited to wear them, and also looked at some bigger stuff; window-shopping and saying "If I want that, I have to make the money next week at work" is a motivator for sure.

When I have a bad night I like to go shopping the next day, and treat myself to sushi. It really helps me to spend a little bit on pampering myself. Sometimes I go to yoga too. I usually go back in the next night and make up for it.

Whenever I have a bad night, the next day I tend to read a book and relax as much as I can. Then I go in the next night and try to make up for the night before

I remind myself that a "bad night" for me is the equivalent to a great night by the standards of the average person in my age group. Seriously, what I call a bad night is not that bad in relation to how much other people my age are making!

I remind myself that I need to stay humble, since for every bad night there is a much better night, and I need to be grateful of the good nights I have!

I use the negativity from the bad night to fuel into positive energy so that my next night I'll make up for the bad one.

Smoking a blunt also helps, because if I have that to calm me down at the end of a not-so-great night, life is okay.

The better or worse the night the more I take note of what I'm wearing, how my make is did, most of all how I felt through out the night. I find a lot of the time when I'm banking or breaking it has a lot to do with how I feel and how I carry myself.
Either way I try to get the ball going the right way and pretty much try the same things to keep a good roll going or to break a cold streak.

I play a lot of happy happy music (my new fav is tegan and sara's "everything is awesome, it's bright and cheesy and silly and it always makes me smile like a goon!)
I dance at home not so much practicing work stuff, but playing on my pole for fun, silly wiggling my hips as i straighten up the house. and over all just trying to keep my mood as bright as I can.
A nice hot too many bubbles bubble bath, I'll put on sirius spa and just day dream to a happy comfy place.,
The next work I try to work out and do something before work to make me feel great, get a custom tan, work out, yoga, go and get a make up make over.
I normally try to spend a little extra time doing by make up and getting reeady, while blasting happy music and pump me up music
Then head into work an hour or two early, Get a rolling start, take my time while it's very to get a dance or two chat with the girls, and just get my mojo in the right place.

THANK YOU for posting this! The last time I worked was AWFUL lol...I took the entire week off to relax and recharge. I worked out and took time to start reading threads on this site hehe I go back in a couple of days uughhh. For me it always seems that a bad night is always followed by an amazing night-it's always up and down. They can't all be great nights, otherwise you wouldn't appreciate the amazing nights as much!

I have to say that sometimes you have to take off when you feel like it.
Like, I had an AWFUL 3 weeks in my personal life, so I took a couple weeks off to just deal with all that shit. I am really bad at compartmentalizing and I knew if I went to work it'd radiate from me and I'd make no money, which would only make me feel worse.

So yeah, know when to take time off. This can be an emotionally draining job.

I always enjoyed reading through this thread after a bad night: https://www.stripperweb.com/forum/sh...ghtly-earnings

(not that I endorse working five shifts a week - but I like the overall concept behind the thread)

This one also always made me feel motivated to go in to work more often: https://www.stripperweb.com/forum/sh...hp?142434-500K

I had a really bad day Thursday. But almost every other girl had a bad day also. I was tempted to call off today out of disappointment and knowing that Friday usually brings 18 girls to work. Luckily we were very busy and I did a VIP right at the beginning of the day with a nice tip. Ended up making 4x what I made Thursday.

Sticking with it and just forcing yourself to go in the next day is the first step. I also made sure to bring in food so I could take a break and eat something good for me. I imagine that I made good money, as weird as that sounds. I remember a day that I made good to great money and just pretend I made it on that terrible day. It keeps me from being depressed about the bad day and allows me to treat the next day normally, rather than feeling and looking desperate.
