These are positive about the the porn industry, but I feel like its leaving a lot of stuff out IMO. These are mostly about porn, but it leaves out the fact that porn stars are basically forced to either escort or cam, or they have to retire or have some other side business to make ends meet.

These articles show what a pornstar would make doing 1 b/g shoot per week (84k/year), but after the first year (or first couple months for many girls), that girl will not even be booking 1 shoot per month. Unless she's in the top 5% looks-wise, or has a super untapped niche. Or started doing porn before the recession (2008 or so) and built a big name for herself.

IMO, Spiegler isn't the best person to comment on pornstars, because he is the most selective agent in the industry. He keeps his roster tiny, and only takes girls who are already highly sought-after, or girls who have a lot of potential (to which I have seen them all be cut if they stop getting work... though I don't know if they leave or he drops them)? Almost none of his girls escort, and only a couple cam, because those girls are still booking a decent amount of work or have side projects (one is a DJ). And I haven't seen that with any other agency. He also books his girls mainstream modeling work with companies like American Apparel and prominent streetwear brands like Married To The Mob & The Hundreds.

So of course Spiegler is going to be like ~*~*pornstars can easily make 84k per year*~*~. Yeah, many of his girls do. But most are not making that kind of money because they are having trouble booking work. So the issue isn't so much that girls aren't paid well in porn, its that after their newbie status fades and they've shot with most of the companies, they just fail to book work unless they have a super niche or something really rare. And that's when they are forced to either cam, escort, or retire. Most of them don't have the patience for cam, and I've seen some of them try to cam and it's pretty scary. No encoder, no presence, no makeup on. Its... interesting.

I was more pointing out (or not pointing out ) that the girls in the articles, were sticking up for themselves and seeming to be proud of working in the adult industry. I especially liked what Lauren (Duke girl) had to say about the college guys and double standards etc. But yeah, I was thinking to earn BIG $$ you would need to be working a ton!

Thanks for sharing, Gracie! This makes me feel proud to be an adult entertainer regardless of what my tax brackets is!

AHHHH that is what has been going down at Duke. I have heard many awful rumors about this young lady and nothing surface. She has been going through hell with a smile.

I pray for her safety at Duke, as the article states
"You have this extremely intense school that’s really competitive academically and then you add into the mix a social scene that’s rooted in social hierarchy and wealth, and then you combine that with male privilege and chauvinism and misogyny and what you have is this really horrible rape culture."

The chilling true statement and they get off w a slap on the wrist in most cases.
I was glad to read she has support from students. TY for posting these articles

Besides that , wonderful for her to find a way and pay for DUKE.. that is a pretty elite school for education and difficult to get accepted. She is awesome.
