    Default Paying taxes

Hey everyone, so I talked to my club and they said that they dont give out w-2's or 1099's and what i choose to report on taxes is my own business. I have an entertainer's license in this state.

If I only dance for one year, could I get away with not paying taxes? Or if I do pay taxes, can I list another profession on my taxes (fixing computers and say that I didnt use my adult entertainers license).

    thanks

i don't think it would be smart to not claim any taxes, especially if you've always claimed them in the past ( i think that just asking for an audit), and if you have loans out in your name, etc. they aren't stupid.
you'll just file under section C

    Definitely this.

By claiming under a bogus profession, you will also lose out on any deductions you may have that are applicable to dancing. You can just list something generic like entertainer/model/dancer -- it's not like you have to say lap dancer or stripper.

I would also add that the Affordable Care Act now REQUIRES any business paying more than $600 total in 2014 to another business ( i.e. independent contractor dancer ) to generate a 1099 to the IRS. Thus, even though particular clubs may have chosen not to generate 1099's in the past, there's no guarantee that they won't be forced to generate a 1099 next January !!!

Please, check out the section, "Dollar Den" there's lots of info there. You can do a search too.

Dollar Den and this thread from Camming Connection https://www.stripperweb.com/forum/sh...still-worth-it

The info is mostly transferable to dancing (only minor differences between profession deductions) and it is going to get busy in a couple of weeks

I was in the same position as you last year. All the info you need is here if you search for it, also get an accountant who works with dancers or self employed people (ask around the club.) they're expensive but worth it with how much they can help you write off!
