I would buy a desktop , skip the laptop and have money left over. You can always save and get that laptop later. Buy a Logitech cam for around $70, and you're still in the black. $600 isn't going to buy you the best laptop for camming, split camming, editing videos, etc...I recently saw a refurb i5 being sold for under $500. Not as fun a laptop, but they're more powerful and less prone to give you issues. Because I don't think you need any issues right now, and like I said you can always save for that laptop later. After you buy a car.
I know not having a car sucks. I was in that same boat and recently jumped out, but even if you find a car for $600 that's not going to afford the insurance, tag fees and registration. Camming appears glamorous but can be pretty fucking difficult. Despite this, t's definitely possible to save up at least $1000-1500 for a 'point A point B' car fairly quickly if you work hard.
