Most of toronto and the GTA it is not mandatory to do stage, with a few exceptions. You get part of your fee back if you do a show, and if you go on schedule (4 ish shows in a 7 hour shift, most bars you start at 7pm), they will pay you $50-$70 per shift depending on the club. Is there a reason you don't want to do stage? I know it's nerve racking at first but the more you do it the easier it gets!

I'm just to nervous to do stage. I've been at a club for 4 months and never did stage yet I've tried to practice in private and I just can't seem to get the hang of it, I don't find myself nearly as flexible or look nearly as good dancing as all the other dancers.
in ottawa stage is mandatory. You'll get the hang of it I'm sure! Just move slowly no need to be flexible : )
The only way you'll get the hang of it is to keep doing it! EVERY dancer looks awkward at first, but that goes away more and more with each stage show. Besides, customers don't tip for stage shows around here anyway, so there's nothing to be lost for going up there and not looking amazing.
Filmores in Toronto doesn't require you to do stage.
Not flexible? Who caresSome of the best, most sensual, stage shows I've seen didn't require full splits, pole (climbing or tricks), or putting feet behind their ears
That's something that comes with time and work outside of the club. Besides, some guys like "newbie" girls; they're fresh-faced, eager and softer (doing 4+ stage shows a night, for 4-6 days a week, you can lose a lot of fat and chisel some muscle), and they can tell (or *think* they can) from the stage show.

This.
I never saw your practice sessions, Anastasia--but one dancer who was as hot as I have ever worked with--in 15 years with about 2000 women--once told me that stage made her nervous as hell--every time she went up. I am really good at reading a dancer's comfort level, it helps me figure out which songs will work best for them, whether they might need songs shortened to get them offstage a little quicker, etc., etc. But I was shocked & amazed at her telling me this, because it sure didn't show.
We tend to be our own worst critics. Stage can really help you get privates, if they watch the stage at all in your club. Most clubs, they do watch.
