    Default FIOS problem with SM?

    HELP!

Long time lurker, first real post.

I have Verizon FiOS and I can't get to ANY SM site from any PC on my network. (streamatemodels.com cammodels.com streamate.com camsharks.com etc)

My hubby is a computer guy and we've tried all he can think of. We've reset our router, dumped the DNS cache locally on the PCs and on the router. He's done a DNS Lookup and tried hitting the IP address directly and still no go.

I know the sites are up, because I can hit them via my cell phone (also Verizon oddly enough)

It's almost as if they are blocking it?!?

Any thoughts before I call Verizon tomorrow and ask the embarrassing question of why I can't get to my adult streaming site?
I usually cam Monday mornings, so I'm getting desperate... it worked fine Thursday btw.

    Thanks so much

When this happened to me it was an Adobe Flash problem, so I reinstalled it and all was well. Xx

No. This isn't a problem with flash nor my browser or anything like that. It doesn't work with Chrome, Firefox, nor IE.

The site won't even BEGIN to load. It's literally as if the domains are dead (which we know they aren't) or they're being blocked on the FiOS end.

In the 3 years I've been camming, neither have I. It's been rock solid and fast as bajeezus.

I'm just dreading the phone call to support. LOL I'm trying to exhaust all possible other sources before I call them.

I assume you tried clearing cookies and cache? It may not help, but may be worth a try...

    Yes ma'am.

I can't even hit affiliate sites (or whatever those SM clone sites are referred to as) that I've never been to before.

I found this one one of the random Verizon forums... (You can tell I have nothing to do )

"Verizon doesn't block websites from users.

Verizon does use dynamic IP addresses, which means that you never have the same one, and you frequently get one that another user had just shortly before you did. What that means for you is that it's possible that the person that had your IP address before you did became blacklisted from one or more websites, and so when you got their IP Address, you to became blacklisted. It's also possible that It wasn't your IP Address specifically, but the entire RANGE of IP addresses was blocked by the website.

Because the problem is tied to an IP Address or more specifically a subnet from verizon that site was blocked, then you can unplug your modem over night in the hopes that in the AM you will receive a new IP and subnet to be on, and thus you will be able to access the website.
That is the easiest solution sometimes."

Hmm.. that's worth trying. To do that, I'd have to kill power to the actual modem (which is actually on the back of my house and protected by a UPS inside). I guess I'll try that. Worth a try.

    Thanks LadyJalyn

You welcome... There is a way to manually reset IP address, but I have no idea how to do it... It's a little too tech savvy for me

http://forums.verizon.com/t5/FiOS-In...ess/td-p/27747 7th post down.. perfect instructions.

And YAY! It worked. So somehow, the IP addy I was on was blocked by the SM network. BOGUS.

It's fixed and I'll be able to cam on Monday.

    thanks for the idea LadyJalyn

Try going to hidemyass.com and see if that can access any of the streamate sites if it can, then it sounds like Verison is blocking streamate which is strange. but you might be able to ask them for a new IP address.
