Default What can I use for good lighting in a tiny apartment?

I would be camming in my bedroom or living room. Both are crammed already, so I can't use big umbrella lights or anything like that. I also can't use anything huge and bulky because my boyfriend will be like "What are all these huge lights for?"

He doesn't know that I cam, and he wouldn't be okay with it. Which I know is wrong on my part, but I have a severe anxiety disorder, so I can't keep a job anywhere outside of home. I always get fired for being too timid around people.

Anyway, what can I use for good lighting that won't take up too much room? It's okay if I use lamps and it doesn't matter if they are floor lamps or desk lamps. If you have limited space in your home, what do you use for good lighting?

Thank you for any replies. (:

Buy those clip on lights with aluminum reflectors and put large CFL bulbs (warm tint, like the 300 watt one from Home Depot). Then aim the bulbs at your walls for indirect lighting. Should work nicely. They're small enough to take down and stash in a closet.

There are some floor lamps that have moveable arms. my room and apartment is small so I use photography lamps and a desk lamp right now, but I also live alone.

Actually when I checked the ikea site there are a few lights that stand that could work for camming. it's a matter of having daylight bulbs and a combo of 60 and 100 watts.

Since you want to stay in the 3-point lighting system anyway

I use a makeup mirror (like this: http://s1.folica.com/img/product/0/0...or-278x278.jpg ) to illuminate my face. The light in it is super warm/yellow so it really brings out my tan features. That, paired with my overhead light is really the only light I use, lol. Maybe try something like that, it's really inconspicuous too.

I use two clip-on lamps like this off to the sides and a floor lamp like this in front of me.

I use this http://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B001ANRC3E and put it on the floor by my side. I really like it but I'm not sure what's up with the price. I'm pretty sure it was only $30 when I bought it. I also use a lamp behind the computer.

OT but I have an anxiety disorder too (general and social) and I still get super anxious about logging onto cam. I'm okay once I'm on, but I can spend forever staring at the computer screen before I hit start. Camming can definitely trigger anxiety too. And keeping it from your boyfriend probably won't help your stress levels. It's a hard job to hide ... With questions and keeping lies straight. My parents are suspicious and they live in a different state. After awhile, people start to notice your lies don't add up. Anyway, I went wayy off topic sorry. Lol.

That's the total cam girl lamp! Even my friend who just stayed with me last month, was like "that's funny you and your friend (cam girl friend who lives with me) both have the same kind of lamp. random" and I was loling.

For a very long time, I just used a $12 desk lamp! I bought one with a flexible coil stand that allowed the light to be pointed in any direction. I always had to adjust it before camming, but it only took me a few minutes.

You can also use light coming in from Your windows, if you cam in the daytime. Just make sure to have the window facing You, and it will give off enough light, even on cloudy days to brighten You.

I wish I could utilize natural light more but alas I cam in the dark of the night; also in a really small apartment where I hide it as well. Not from my nonexistent boyfriend but my nanny and kids. The light in here is HORRIBLE! I have a lamp I use a lamp with a good bulb and an off white shade over it. I do really need one more light source though so I don't get so shadowy. It's funny when I can my whole place is dark except where I cam lol The makeup mirror works well too. I used to have one from the 80s my aunt gave me but it totally burnt out a couple years ago.

Get one of those cheap floor lamps with 3 bulbs on it-those work well...

Also, if nothing else I found turning up the brightness on your screen all the way really helps

Ha! I have one too, along with some clip-on lamps. Getting the lighting right so I don't have big eye-bags or nose shadows is the longest part of getting ready. God forbid I move to another room to film a clip or something. Lighting is such a pain, but when its good its sooo good.

Wow, thanks. It's like half the price at Walmart.
