    Default Training Regs to Pay.

The club I work at is a little dive in a boring town. There's not a whole lot of traffic that comes through so we make our money off our regulars. I started dancing a year ago and am starting to roll my eyes at how I acted. A customer gave me a $20 and I was ecstatic- now when I get that $20, I'm less than enthusiastic because I know I'm worth more. But I have always acted so appreciative of my regulars, I feel like I've trained them to believe that's all that will keep me happy.

How can I fix this? I'm always keeping my eyes open for a new target, but like I said, this is a club that is 80% regulars. Tactics like saying, 'hey, it was fun chatting with you, but I'm working and need to make my phone bill tonight' won't work because it's a pretty quiet club and there is only a few customers that are not already claimed by a dancer. What am I going to do, prove my point by getting up and sitting alone at the bar? Maybe the blunt 'I have a bill due tomorrow- I could really use your help' act?

If a guy comes to the stage to tip, I have no problem keeping him there and tipping. The bartenders and cooks love me because I'm making excellent sales, tons of drinks and meals. But my wallet isn't nearly as fat as the other dancers. Hustle Hut has helped a ton, but in my quiet little club, I need to milk my regs for all they're worth or I'm not making anything.

I wouldn't talk about your bills, or what you need the money for. Nothing turns guys off faster. They go into clubs to relax and have fun and forget about THEIR problems, so the last thing they want is to hear about the dancers problems.

This. The pity hustle may work in the short-term or with certain clients, but those will be the white knights and they're a headache and a half. I think you have to slowly wean your regulars off getting so much time for so little -- without knowing what you're currently doing and how the club is sets up it's a bit tricky to get specific, but cut the time you hang out together on the floor short by a song or two every time you see them until you're happy with the time to money ratio. Doing it gradually makes it less abrupt to the customer, so that gives you more time to transition to better regulars. End your time together the same as you do now -- tell them it was nice to see them, you can't wait to hang out again, etc., etc. If there are no other targets in the club, go hide in the DR or dance area for a song or two, chat with the staff, or otherwise make yourself look busy until the customer leaves or has someone else sitting with him.

You could certainly try and ask them for more money, but I find that the regulars I made when I was a newbie aren't regulars I want now -- they latched on to me because they know the time to money ratio was more in their favour, and they tend to flock to other newbies for the same reason. There's the odd chance that they might decide it's worthwhile to spend more money on you to spend more time together, but the best way to show them that is by being busy with your new regulars.

I'm curious to see the responses to this too. I have a couple regs who seem to think they're entitled to wayyy more of my time than they should be for the $200 or $300 they spend when they come in. Problem is, I haven't found a way to hurry them up! If I don't sit with them for a certain amount of time, they will just let me leave them without spending.....and ultimately another girl will snatch them up while I'm trying to hustle the rest of the crowd, and probably end up getting all their $$ instead.

It might be a timing thing. Some customers just want to settle in first and it will always take them x amount of time to feel ready for a dance, and then whoever happens approach at the right time gets the money. Do you go to these customers as soon as they walk in? I would let them hang out for a bit on their own first. Ultimately, they're spending the same amount of time on the floor, you're just cutting back the time from the beginning that you spend together. Of course, some customers just feel more entitled than others and sometimes it comes down to you deciding if they're worth the effort -- especially if they come in and expect all the attention when there are other, possibly bigger, customers to hustle.

I second cutting things a little shorter each time and hiding in the dressing room if there are no other options. In my experience, many of them will remain oblivious to the hint or pretend to be, but who knows, some might give you a raise without a single awkward exchange. A couple of my baby stripper regulars really surprised me in this way, and one continued to be a regular and the closest thing I've had to a true friend in a customer for the entire five years I worked at my last club.

I use my phone a lot at work. Xoptic spot has a program where you can get paid to sext with customers. I don't do the sexting thing, but my customers don't know that. If a regular isn't paying me for my time, I step away and say that I've got some sexting to do until my turn on stage, then offer to go back to VIP instead if he wants to. If not, I give him a little hug and sit in a corner by myself and surf pinterest. He thinks I'm working, and that's all that matters.

The goal is to create the illusion of scarcity. If you make yourself seem popular and expensive, they will fall in line. When I returned to dancing in July 2013, I was barely bringing in $100 a shift. My daily average for this month is currently $519. I'm in a low money city where my $100 is the norm for my club/ shift.

I didn't get here overnight. I've been at this club for 8 months. My daily average keeps going up, month after month. I don't focus on the money when I'm working. I focus on being a good dancer and trying to please the customer in any way that's legal.
