What is the usual standard for makeup at a club? I don't wear any and I'm not sure if that's faux pas or not.

There is no standard. There are some clubs where you can get away without any -- personally, I also don't wear make up and it hasn't been an issue in the clubs I have worked at. There are others, generally more upscale gown clubs, where it wouldn't fly. Your best bet is to visit the club you want to work as a patron and see what the other girls look like. If many rock the natural look, you're probably fine provided your face looks good without any make up. I may still put on a bit of make up for the audition just so you actually look like you're trying though.

    depends where you work
at my club if you didnt wear makeup they would ask you to put some on or send you home if you refused
we have to wear LOADS for them to be happy

Makes sense. I'm still in my research phase but after being a waitress at one club and being complained to about lack of makeup I wasn't sure if that applied to dancers as well and if it was universal. Thank you.~

I don't wear make up in my day to day life but when I started a google search for tutorials was enough for me to get by. I used liquid cover up, powder, eye shadow, mascara, lip stick and blush.

Seconding that it depends on the club. I've worked in NYC clubs where some want your makeup to be over the top and others have allowed me to work bare-faced. The upscale clubs usually want girls with a full face of makeup, not so much the neighborhood bars.

i think it also depends on the person as well. some girls have naturally dark long eyelashes, clear soft skin, full lips, and don't really need any. some just need some eye makeup, and others need the whole shebang. i try and use as little possible on my good areas, and really accentuate/cover the areas that need help.
there's also the darkness of the club to take into consideration, in a really dark club you almost have to have "stage makeup" to have it noticed or your face might disappear. if the other girls are doing themselves up to the nines and you have absolutely nothing on, then you're gonna want to have some very striking features and good skin

Yea I second what every one has said.... a nice smokey eye with lashes and nice shinny lips/ lipgloss would do great but it all depends n your skin and how much coverage it needs if you have dark circles or problem areas you should defenietely invest in a good concealer and foundation/ remember since you will be dancing to get a waterproof make up.
I love Revlon color stay whipped foundation, I sweat a bit when I dance and I need minimal touch up all night long usually I retouch with powder foundation & or blush.
Theres this beauty app and website called Beautylish great for make up tutorials and ofcoursee you cant go wrong with youtube.

there's a girl at my club who wears no makeup and it works for her, she pulls off the "girl next door" look.

personally i hate lipstick, so i don't wear it.

i just do foundation, bronzer, winged eyeliner, white eyeshadow in the corner of my eyes/under my brow bone, neatly drawn on eyebrows, and fake lashes if i'm not wearing my glasses

its all up to you, some girls go full out smokey eye, some girls do the browns/neutrals, some girls even opt for colour in the eyes.

most girls wear lipstick, pink, red, or coral are usually the way in my club
