    Default non surgical nose job?

My friend is getting this done in a few weeks and she was telling me about it today because she knows how much I am dying for a nose job (seriously I fucking hate my nose). I'm too afraid to go under the knife and I don't have the money for it, or the ability to take weeks off from work and she's in the same boat.

She said that they inject your nose with dermal fillers/botox. I've gotten restylane in my lips and had some botox around my eyes but never something like this. I've been doing a lot of research for it online and most of what I've read is positive, but there are some negative reviews as well. Curious if anyone has actually tried it?

i had it done nov 1 of last year, and i loved it!! i only wanted very minimal work done on it, and he suggested juvaderm injections in my nose and cheeks. very quick, and he did amazing work. with mine you seriously cannot tell that i've had it done, my nose just has no bump on the top anymore and the tip is slightly raised to give me more of a little button nose. it doesn't look puffy or swollen. it can really change the shape in a natural looking way that lasts a year ( the cheeks last around 6-8 months). i definitely suggest going to a pro tho, although they can dissolve it pretty quick if you dont like it.
it cost me 550, definitely worth it

Thanks for the info! Yeah I have been looking and it seems like there are some plastic surgeons that do it and then just general botox clinics. I would be more comfortable going to an actual plastic surgeon even if it's more expensive. And that's my issue, I have a bump and I just want my profile to be a bit more refined! I'm thinking I'm gonna go for it.

So I'm getting this done and a little botox next Friday! I'm SO excited, taking all these pictures to send to clubs has just re-surfaced and re-enforced my hatred of my nose.

How long did it take for the swelling to go down Simone? I would love to get back to work the day after but I don't want to look weird...

the day you get it done you cannot work, he gave me instructions not to even go to the gym or do anything strenuous..he said the swelling should go down in a few days time, so i'd take 3 or 4 days off. it will be completely 100% in a weeks time, but i dont think you have to take a whole week off unless you heal very slow. ooh im really thinking of getting botox done just to weaken the muscles in my face and to cut down chances of any wrinkling in the future..im scared i will look puffy tho :/ never done botox. let me know how it goes!

I haven't done it either, I'm getting botox on my eyes to make more an arch, it's an "eyebrow lift" and make my eyes look bigger/wider... I'll let you know how it goes!

Oh boo I was hoping it would heal faster oh well I guess it's a good excuse to take the weekend off!

What is this wonderful wizardry called? I'm EXTREMELY interested, and I've never heard of this concept before. I have a bump on my nose that I've been dying to get rid of for 20 years, but plastic surgeons in my area charge anywhere from $7-10k and I'm terrified of going under the knife.

^ the nonsurgical nose job is perfect for bumps on your nose! the only thing it cannot do it make your nose smaller, but it can definitely fix the shape if you have just a little thing that bugs you!

I would like the tip of my nose to be a little slimmer and more feminine, but that's not a huge huge issue. The main thing is the bump. My sister broke my nose when I was little and I would like for my nose to look like what I think it probably would have looked like had she not done that.
Can you wear glasses when healing from this? The other concern I have, is that every doctor I've spoken to about a nose job said I'd have to ditch my glasses for about a year. I have super dry eyes, so I don't like wearing contacts very often if I don't have to.

^ my little sister has a broken nose as well, from a fight she had with our other sister. she's set on a full-blown nose job, although i try and tell her to consult the doctor about non-surgical, cheaper options first :/
if you want the bump taken off your nose, i wouldn't suggest anything touching it until its healed ( including glasses), but afterwards it would be fine. although the doctor told me that if you constantly move/or bump anywhere with juvaderm injections, you may have to get them refilled more often.

it's very low risk and temporary so you should do it before getting a real rhino. there's only so much it can do tho and you might not notice a huge difference from just one syringe so the price can jump up pretty quickly. some ppl (like me) metabolize filler more quickly and more immediately, for ex I need about 2x the amount of filler in my lips to get the results that everyone on realself gets with just one syringe.

also I'm wondering why juvederm and not radiesse? radiesse is calcium based (aka mimics bone), is not a hyaluronic acid, and lasts a lot longer. juvederm is 3-8 months (depending on where it is, nose will be probably 8 months) and soft, but radiesse is 2 yrs and is harder. Its what ppl usually use for cheekbones and jawlines.

^ not sure why he did juvaderm, he explained why but it was so long ago i've forgotten. he said my nose ( or any part that doesn't move or get touched a lot) will last a year, but my cheeks will be around 6-9 months depending. i'm planning on going back soon ( thinking about a real nose job because i want a really defined sloping little nose that non-surgical cannot give me). i'm gonna ask him when i go back, thinking about also getting botox for weakening facial muscles

yah the nose should still last quite awhile because it doesn't move, that's why a lot of ppl complain because a certain filler advertises 9-12 months but then the filler in their lips lasts only 3, it really matters how much it's moving. but radiesse is still a better option for the nose, the only thing about that (well any filler really) is that there will still be some left for quite awhile even if the results aren't there, maybe 5% of the juvederm will be there after a yr or 3 yrs for the radiesse and a ps might be hesitant to do surgery if you've gotten it recently.

I highly recommend botox, it helps the filler last longer and I think both combined are necessary. just don't let him give you a prepackaged amount or go on a Friday or Monday or accept any "discount." botox is typically mixed once a week in a big vat and loses its potency quickly so that's why a lot of drs do discount botox on fris or even mons because it's not potent anymore. also since its mixed with a bit vat they can give you as much as you want unlike fillers which the majority of drs will not split syringes because that makes it not sterile anymore. but if a Dr tries to tell you you need to buy a $500 syringe of botox then go somewhere else (unless you want that much obv) because you can get as little or as much as you want and it's just as safe. a little botox goes a really long way, I spent about $100 to freeze my entire forehead while still maintain movement in my brows.

^ just be sure not to be rough with your face ( scrubbing, tugging, sleeping on it) for a week after and you should be fine as long as you take maybe two days off! good luck!!

there's no downtime with botox, maybe a little swelling with fillers if you have a bad filler or injector but I always go out or go to work right after and look fine.

but yes don't lay down after botox! it will migrate!

Just got back from getting this done!

And OMG... I love it! So much! It's amazing how something that small can change your whole face. He used juvaderm on me too simone, I don't know why either, he explained but to be honest I wasn't really listening I was more staring at the huge needle! I know he said if you don't like it there's an enzyme that can get rid of it right away... he just used one thing of the filler and he had some left over so he did my lips which I don't notice a huge change with but look better, HOLY SHIT that was painful tho! My lips still hurt...

And I LOVE the botox, omg I think I like that even more than the nose... my eyebrows were really low so even when I wasn't frowning people would always tell me "smile everything's OK!" now that they're raised a bit my normal face looks more neutral/happy. And apparently the symmetry was a bit off so he fixed that as well (never noticed that until he said it... but he was right...)

I know this thread is a little old, but I was wondering how y'all are still liking this choice? A PS on RealSelf agreed that I am a candidate for tip refinement alone (just working with the cartilage in my nose), and I have a tiiiiiny hump that I am not sure I want to surgically alter due to how much longer it will take to heal. I am thinking of tip refinement + fillers on the hump. It's so small I wasn't even sure I had it without several photos, but I know once I refine the tip I'm going to become more critical of the rest of my nose...

^Now I'm reading that tip refinement doesn't necessarily result in significantly less recovery time, as most of the swelling from a full rhino goes to the tip anyway. Blah. I guess I may as well do the full rhino, since it's permanent. I hate waiting for consultations! I go into crazy research mode till odd hours of the night.

This sounds awesome. I've always hated the little bump on my side profile but i've always hated the thought of spending thousands on surgery and going through the recovery process and risk changing the appearance of my nose too much because other than the small bump I really like the way my nose looks so ive never thought it was worth all the trouble but now i'm seriously gonna look into this. Its so cheap too and if I don't love the results its not like its ruined for ever
