Default razor burn vs something much worse?

Okay. I will probably delete this soon.

I either have several ingrown hairs or some sort of STD. I've had bad razor burn a few times before, but the timing is making me paranoid this time (recently got out of a monogamous relationship and have had two new sex partners). Other than waiting to see if it heals on its own, and going to a clinic if it doesn't, is there really any way to confirm that pussy bumps are just razor burn? Has anyone thought something was just razor burn, but then it turned out to be herpes or something? Maybe PM me? Please?

I get ingrown hairs now and then and I used to get really paranoid about it until a nurse showed me how to tell if that's what it is.

With an ingrown hair, you'll be able to see the trapped hair inside of it. It might take a day or two for it to grow enough to be seen but it'll be in there. If it's inflamed like a pimple, you might need to gently pop it to remove any pus to see the hair. I use a sterile needle to do that if necessary.

I hope it's nothing serious. Every time I've gone to the doctor over a bump they've laughed at me (not in a mean way) and told me it was an ingrown hair.

Does the irritated area feel how shave bumps normally feel for you? If so, it is probably just razor burn. If it's more itchy or pus is coming out of it, it might be something else.

I get shave bumps quite often because my skin is sensitive. They don't cause much irritation though. But if I'd had a new sexual partner and the shave bumps seemed different than the usual shave bumps I get I'd go to the doctor if they didn't heal up as they normally would.

Thanks, y'all. Everything is healing up normally, so I'm going to assume it was just a particularly bad case of razor burn. But this experience did nudge me to make plans to go to a clinic with the friend I've recently been sleeping with, so hooray for actually taking care of myself.

Always get tested anyway. Just in case. Once or twice a year. Even if you're with someone monogamous. Cause you never know.
