Default Help! How to wear a wig and KEEP IT ON?

I've recently trimmed my hair and have been wearing pony tail extensions but I'm growing tired of the weight and men asking me to 'take my hair down'.

So I want a wig! Found a great shop with a very large selection.

    My questions are:

How do YOU keep your wig from shifting or falling off while dancing? I whip my hair around a lot and wondered if I could do this with a wig without if flying off.

Also how do you response to those customers that ask you "Is that your real hair?"

Also do wigs make you warmer or hot? When at work and I'm dancing hard I sweat sometimes profusely. DRI cool wipes are a life saver!

I wear wigs all the time. I sew those little combs all round the edges of it. Three along the forehead, one on each side and three along the back. You can buy a package of like 100 of them on Amazon for a few bucks. With all the combs secured, my wigs don't budge.

They do get hot. That's probably the worst thing about wigs. My head gets hot and sweaty and itchy underneath them. I've heard it's worse if you don't use a wig cap but I've always used one so I wouldn't know.

Nobody's ever asked me if my hair is real but I'm white and I think that makes a difference. If they did I'd probably jut look at them funny and say, "Yeah?" and change the topic.

I've never worn a wig in the club because like you i get hot and sweat and just thought it would be far too irritating. I sometimes wore a clip-in ponytail and if someone asked me to take my hair down i'd just change the subject "It's cooler for me tied up, but then i like things tied up" (with a cheeky wink).

    Hey There
I suggest you go to BestLaceWigs.com and get a glueless cap lace front wig. Human Hair. These wigs are the best of the best. Customers will not question rather or not that is your real hair. Because these wigs are designed to look as if its growing from your scalp. Hope this helps

..i got a stretchy rubber headband to put under it that really helped keep it in place! i would also recommend wig tape and combs. i wouldn't do upside down pole tricks or head-bang in them though. they are extremely uncomfortable, itchy, and hot. every night when i took mine off a few years ago, i let out a sigh of relief and had to scratch my scalp because it was so damn itchy!
if its a bad wig you will get lots of comments, so be sure to get a lace front and one with human hair. i would also suggest trying them on first, i got one offline and was severely disappointed..it looked SO fake.
i would stick with hair extensions, halfwigs, or the fake pony tail if i were you. they are much more comfortable and natural looking in my opinion..and i used to have trichotillomania so i have tried almost everything

I get wigs with combs and don't do jack shit onstage. Yeah people ask if it's my real hair. I tell the truth: "My hair is fake, my tits are fake and I'm still fucking hot! Any questions?"

When you go to the store the staff should be able to show you how to put it on and fit it properly. Try them on. Even if you have to try on like 20 of them. You need to make sure it looks good on you. Just because it looks good on the dummy head, doesn't mean it will look good on you.

I didn't have combs on a wig until my most recent purchase. Mine were always adjustable so I made sure it was on tight enough. I didn't whip my head around, but I did do some flipping upside down on the pole occasionally. Only time it ever came off was when it got caught on another dancer's top (it was full of sequins and we were both drunk). One of the girls I worked with did the headband and lots of combs sewn in, she LIVED on the pole.

All the regulars at the club knew I wore a wig, occasionally I would dance without it in the beginning of my shift. It would freak out the new girls at the end of the night when I pulled it off. They didn't realize it was fake. Only customers that ever asked about it were guys I hadn't seen in a few months and they asked if I dyed my hair.

Like others have said, it gets hot and itchy under there. I would take it off for a few minutes and put it back on if I was taking a breather in the DR.

I get good quality heat safe synthetic. The Equal and Cutie lines are my current favorites.

I got spooked when someone I knew from high school came into the club (didn't recognize me thankfully), so for my next shift I wore a cheap-ass wig from eBay. I Kirby-gripped the shit out of it, seriously like 30 grips going through. It didn't budge all night. And I got complimented on my lovely long red hair
All went well until a woman tried to run her fingers through it. It didn't budge, but neither did her hand!

I wear wigs everyday, both in camming, and when I am on a private party gig.
I use a wig cap, but don't like the clips in the wig, because I feel they are too tight on my scalp.
I, instead use pretty headbands, flowered clips.
No one has ever asked if I am wearing a wig, and I only buy cheap synthetic ones on ebay. I have over 50 different wigs, mostly shoulder to butt length.
It's in the styling of it, shaking it out, laying it out, washing it with mild shampoo,& using wig spray that will help keep it fresh looking.
