    Default shoes?

so i'm thinking about getting little flats or wedges to wear on the floor, and then just change into my big 6 inch stripper heels on stage. anybody else ever done that? my big stripper heels are really hurting my feet! i will be limping after two days of wearing them, and my feet will be cut up like hamburger meat. i've done the hair dryer thing, and nothing seems to help. plus i just don't like being so tall in them. if i were like 4'10 i could get away with it, but i'm average height (5'5) and i'm not comfortable looking much taller. i don't feel like customers will be looking at my feet, but wondering if there are any SC appropriate, short shoes that won't draw any attention ? maybe just plain black ones with a slight wedge heel?

I've never tried that, but one time I had a pair of heels that were really cutting in to my feet and i tried the hair dryer thingy and that didn't work. I tried putting a bandaid on my skin where it was getting worn off but it just came off. Then I actually tried putting a bandaid ON the actual clear part that was cutting my foot (like fold the bandaid over it, folding the bandaid "hot dog" style, the long way) and that helped SO MUCH. like provided a soft cushion where it was cutting in to my foot. so maybe you could take clear packing tape and make a couple layers over the sharp edge? (as long as you can blend it and it doesn't look too ghetto) sorry otherwise I don't have an recommendations

You can buy pads to put in your shoes to prevent that. I have them in most of my heels.

These are the ones I use:

I can only speak for Pleasers (Funtasma) - try smaller heels. I'm 5' 10 and I wear 4" Caress heels. Guys don't care about your shoes - but management may. I can't wear my 3" heels at my club. Depends if you can cover them too - we wear gowns

I'm just curious as I've never seen this done...do you think your managers will let you wear other shoes rather than standard stripper heels?

These are pretty, SC friendly wedges (Razzle), but they're 5.5" http://www.pleaserusa.com/regular.as...&PW=150&PH=150

You might be able to get away with these 4" Camille wedges http://www.pleaserusa.com/ProductDet..._CD=CAMILLE-01

my club will, as long as they look somewhat "sexy" or formal.
thanks guys! i really like some of those shoes shy2! my main problem with the discomfort is that i have very short feet that get wide at the toes, so the plastic part always tears em up, but i can't go with a size bigger or they'll fall off and look too big at the heel. i'm gunna try the pads, and really stretching them out and then go shoe shopping for shoes i can wear on the floor

I work with a handful of girls who do this. Imho, platform wedges are a great option as they are comfortable, but still give you definition. I usually swap out my stripper shoes for ballet flats once I hit the floor since I waitress too, but i've opted for platform wedges before and they were incredibly comfortable (just harder to run around in).

That's cool! Omg I'm jealous! At my club they've been known to send girls home for the day for taking their shoes off during a dance or wearing "normal" heels instead of stripper heels. Even the waitresses have to wear 4-5" heels.

Platform wedges are cute and comfortable and still elongate the leg without the pain!

Yes, I wore slip on black wedges, & mgr. told me "take off your flip flops" I was going to say, you could maybe try clear duck tape over the section that irritates, as a sort of buffer?
I like those pads, nvr tried e'm tho

I know lots of girls who wear leg warmers with flats and you can't tell unless you look closely. I'd recommend doing that.

In my ex-club there was a requirement for open toe heels with at least 5 inch heels. no exceptions. i also think men prefer girls in heels so going with flats might hurt your business.

^ well i use the legwarmer to cover them up, plus guys no longer have to break their necks looking up at me..to me, that just kinda ruins the fantasy when i'm towering over a guy asking him for a dance and then looking at me like they just discovered big-foot lol. i know i'm only 5'5 but that's too tall to wear big 8 inch heels ( for me)

I had to get my new black stilettos in a hurry after my boots bit the dust, I wore thin-ish black socks w/ them for the first wk while breaking them in to ease/eliminate the blistering. I wear these black legwarmer things w/ them anyway, that are open-toe/open-heel but have a strap around the bottom, so I can slip the heel thru it & buckle around it for extra stability. Since it is all black-on-black you can hardly tell. I just slide them down my ankles so I am not rocking Urkel socks. Customers can also slip bills into my socks onstage once I am starkers.

Running to the dressing room to change shoes before every stage set seems impractical. I would just try to find a more comfortable style of stripper shoe. Which shoes are cutting into your feet?

^ the pleasers. i have weird feet, they are just very short and small but they are side at the toes and i have a VERY high arch. i also work long shifts for a dancer so i'm just trying to think of good ways to give my feet a break..and not make me look so damn tall.

I have a similar problem - my feet are narrow in the heel and wider in the toes. Believe it or not, one of the shoes that works best for me is an 8 inch heel: http://snaz75.com/el-821-juliet.html that has a tight ankle strap (stability like whoa). The part that goes over the widest part of my foot kinda relaxed as I broke them in so my toes aren't squished in there and getting cut up. The part where everyone says the higher the heel the more comfortable the shoe absolutely sounds like rubbish but it can be true.

IMO men go to the club to see fantasy women. If they want women in flats, they could go the hell home, you know?

Have you tried wedges? (concealed connector) http://snaz75.com/el-623-brook.html or these (cute and comfortable) http://www.snaz75.com/ts-606-5.html

These may/may not be your style, but if I were desperate: http://www.snaz75.com/pl-lovely-460.html

Finding the right footwear is an adventure for sure!

Have you tried just wearing a shoe like this instead of the clear ones?

    1000x1000.jpg

I can't wear the plastic ones either because they cut into my feet, so I always got with the patent ones because it's a material and it doesn't cut in so much.

For the height thing, I don't know I think men like tall strippers, it makes us look more like models! I'm 5'5 and if I have a custy that loves short girls then I take them off during the dance/in the room, but most guys just got on and on about how they love tall women and I end up lying about tall my heels actually are! I've honestly never had a guy complain about me being to tall, ever... and I wear 7' heels.

^ ugh i wish the guys around me felt that way..most of them beg me to take my shoes off, and don't like tall dancers..you get called "lurch" "big foot" and "sasquatch" if you're too tall. maybe there are just a lot of very insecure men around me who are easily emasculated, but the tiny little short girls are the most popular by far. i searched around and got a pair of really sexy stripper heels that are also very low!

"the pleasers" is really vague; could you post a link to a pic of the shoes that are giving you problems, so we can do a better job of giving suggestions?

FWIW, every time I tried to dance in boots I broke them within a few shifts. They dramatically limit your flexibility, and I would inevitably forget that at some point and dance like I had normal shoes on, causing the PVC "fabric" to rip out of the back. These are my current favorites: http://pleaserusa.com/ProductDetail....ADO755%2FB%2FM

PVC & stripping do not mix -- I had a pair of PVC type boots & they barely lasted less 6 wks. Get a pair that is genuine leather, it will chip/tear a bit over time esp w/ pole work, but I am very hard on mine & they usually last abt 6 months b4 blowing out at the platform seam. Also once had a pair that was suede rather than leather, but the fabric does not stick to the pole at all so it will give your legs a phenomenal workout trying to grip(if you are that brave) but I usually just ended up rolling them down b4 hopping on the pole.

Regardless of the material I have tried, I have also nvr had a problem w/ breaking them in -- just put them on & I was good to go from the first nite working in them. I did wear 2-3 layers of athletic socks under them tho, so that may have helped.
