    Default Blah first night

So I met the house mom and dancer manager last night...I decided on Leah for my stage name. Sadly it was extremely slow last night...I guess it's my fault for starting on a week night. Admittedly I was in a bad mood and really tired when I got there which didn't help either. I had been up since 6am and had to work 9pm-4am. I was hoping they'd let me go home early but they really wanted me to stay til close so I could see how they handle tip outs, etc..

Overall I like the club and how they run things but it seemed like there was nothing but cheap asses coming in last night. Even the bartenders and servers were complaining that they weren't making $$. Everyone I talked to encouraged me to come back this weekend because their weekends are usually really good and everyone makes $$. I only sold 3 dances all night....Tried to push for more dances with each guy but they "couldn't afford more than one." I also made $10 off a drink! (When a guy buys a dancer a drink we get $10. Sweet!)

I made about $120 but after tipping out the bartender and dj I only brought home $90...but hey, at least I left with more $ than I came in with. It's still twice what I would have made at my old job for the same amount of time. Trying to stay positive!

So yeah overall an Okay night but not great. I need to work on my approach anxiety. I was surprised at how shy I've become after being out of the game for 2 years. The highlight was being nicknamed Jessica Rabbit due to my hair. I'm also the only redhead on staff there so they were really excited to hire me because of that. Thanks for the good wishes everyone. Hoping this weekend I bank!

Well hey, congratulations on going in!!

I've said it before and I'll say it again - it's almost a good thing to have a rough night for your first night. It helps set expectations low, and slow nights also give you a chance to get a feel for how the club works. Can you imagine if you'd made $1200 your first night and then $90 your second night? It's only up from here! Plus, like you said, $90 is $90. You would have had $0 if you'd stayed home.

I had a brutal first day too but thankfully everyday I feel a bit more at ease. Don't be discouraged though like Charlie said above, its only up from here! I find getting familiar with the regulars is always beneficial since they're always coming in I know I can count on a few dances, and when they bring their buddies they usually recommend me for their dances so it definitely pays to be kind to your regulars! Best of luck on your next shift, go get it!

Whenever I've started at a new club it takes me a couple of weeks to get the feel of the place and really start making good money. SInce you made more money on your first day than you would have at your regular job, call that a victory! Call that first shift your "dress rehearsal." When you go into work this weekend, it will be your "opening night" and you'll feel much better about your club. Your money should easily reflect that.

Good job on your first night back! Stripping is like riding a bike, just get back to work and make that money.

If everyone else in the club was complaining, that could indicate that the shift was unusually slow, so that's definitely something to keep in mind so you don't discount weeknight shifts right off the bat. Still, fingers crossed for a more lucrative weekend for you!

Try not to let others negativity drag you down. Even if its DIRE try and practise pole tricks, perfect your hustle, try to win a new regular by saying when you will next be working. My best night was had when four men came in the whole night, and it only took one guy to fall in love with me and make my night.

Some clubs really do pick up on the weekends, so don't give up!
Just focus on getting comfy your next shift or two and observing how everything works.

Thanks guys! Tonight is my second shift so here's hoping it goes well.

My husband is not a fan of this job and he doesn't like me talking about it, so you ladies are my support system right now! One thing I need to remind myself is stop being too friendly, talking too much and getting friend zoned...That was a mistake I used to make all the time and I kept catching myself doing it Weds. night too. I got a couple "You're too good/smart to be here" rants from guys...noooo! hehe I'll try my dumbed down/slightly crazy party girl persona tonight and see if it works better.
