Default Does anyone notice a change in money when you change your hair?

Idk if this should be in body buisness because is more a money question but has anyone noticed a correlation between their hair and their money? My hair light brown and im a light skinned black girl. Im closest to Rhianna vs Beyonces skin tone. I have always had long black hair when dancing but changed it because every dark skinned dancer had dark hair (plus I was so bored with it) . Ever since I switched people tell me I look 18-22 vs 25-27 and sweet :. Now I want to go red, im caught between Rhianna's red and snookie's red since I now have a pixie cut and can use lightner. Now ill still use my super long hair for work but I wonder how the color will affect my income. Just for reference, im 5'8-5'9 athletic build with 34dd weighing at 135lbs so idk what sort of a look that would create over all in the club I usually go for Glam stripper.

Go red! My hair is naturally auburn but I dyed it bright red and the customers looovvve it and I get so much attention. I think my real hair color is too subtle to show up in the dim lights. Or you could even do red streaks? That would look really cool. I've found anything you can do to stand out from the other girls is good for business.

i've noticed that going blond was the best thing for my money, and if you get compliments w light brown and get told you look younger, i wouldn't change it! i've noticed that unnatural looking colors don't do well in clubs ( in general) unless its like a understated streak in a feminine color. but that's just my opinion

I'm a cam girl so my experience might be different but last year I decided to go bright purple -all over- with my long hair. It literally halved my income. Just a thought if you decide to do an unnatural shade. I usually notice other girls who are more alternative can pull it off.

When I went red in LA my money doubled, for the first couple weeks it dropped/stayed about the same but then it went up.

Hell yea. Like simone87, going blonde was a huge moneymaker for me. I got a lot of shit talked by girls who saw what my hair was like before I bleached it, but guys don't care that my hair isn't as long and luscious as it used to be. All they see is blonde. It's a fantasy. My features are Latina, but I am very white (I'm the palest girl at my club), so going platinum really helps me sometimes go into white girl territory. And that definitely helps in urban clubs.

One thing I have to agree with everyone else is that I've noticed girls who dye their hair unnatural colors (like bright red and or blue/green ombre) tend to dye them back to a more normal color right away. I never bothered to ask if it was because it affected their money, but it's happened often enough to take into consideration. I think you should try the more natural color first and slowly transition. That's what I did and the lighter I go the more my money goes up. One thing you should consider also is how the color looks with your skin tone and how it will show up in club lighting. Good luck!

Not really amount just how easy it gets. With the long porn star wig money flows easier from old farts. With the 'hawk the young little shits like it. But my hair is the last thing on people's minds.

I was wearing my platinum blonde wig for a while & wasn't doing so hot anymore bc I got bored with it so after I colored my real hair (a brassy reddish/orange ombre color) on the ends & added matching extensions I started making money again bc my confidence went up I'll prob go back to blonde when I get sick of this look LOL

Not all black girls can pull of lighter hair but I'm gonna try it!

Maybe I'm an outlier but I have funky colored streaks in my hair and it doesn't seem to affect my income at all. In fact I work at a club that gets a lot of businessmen and professionals, and I've gotten a lot of compliments from customers on the colorful hair (I'm sure some don't like it but overall it makes me stand out). One of our top earners is white with a short blond pixie cut, as well. I also used to work at a mixed blue collar club that had a lot of alternative dancers, there were plenty of top earners there over the years with streaks or a full head of crazy colored hair. It doesn't work for everyone but it is definitely possible for some dancers to pull off an alternative hair style.

Squeak from Philly has crazy colored dreads but she has a slamming perfect 10 body with fake tits. She makes me feel like a lumpy little doughball. Squeak taught me something about crazy hair/etc. If the rest of you deviates outside the "norm" you better bring something exceptional to the table.

i used to have big long black hair and now i have big long blonde hair. most people say they like my hair better blonde. i find i attract more demographics now, it makes me look 'dirtier' and 'more aggressive' which really supports my fuck you pay me hustle. i would never do extras though lol

I've had loads of different colours, including some pretty crazy colours. I'm back to blonde now and I definitely notice that the lighter my hair gets, the more money I make.
I loved my bright red hair, but I just didn't appeal to as many customers. For me, being tall and blonde with fake boobs means that even with tattoos, I look Barbie enough to appeal to almost everyone. Tall and tattooed with dark/crazy coloured hair made me too intimidating looking I think.

it really depends on what kind of bangs, and if they look good on your face shape. light long bangs, or long side swept ones look great..i've noticed that the blunt, heavy bangs kind of look like something you'd wear in 1st grade and although a lot of girls are hot enough to pull off the super short "pin up" bangs, a lot of guys don't get that look so i wouldn't do it at the club..unless you are a stunning barbie in all other aspects, like was mentioned before.

To re-phrase what Tempest said, hair color (as long as it suits you) tends to affect how customers want you to act to get paid more than it affects how much you get paid. I did well with black, red, and/or purple hair, but the blonde persona comes to me more naturally and therefore makes a shift easier. However, I did notice an earnings bump when I was the only lady with red hair; maybe being the only WOC with light or bright hair will give you a similar boost.

I have noticed that women whose hair color and skin color are similar tend to look washed-out in club lighting. I would keep the lighting of your main club in mind when choosing a new color. And of course, it's much easier to go from blonde to red than from red to blonde!

It was a slow night at work, but I got so many compliments from customers on my hair. It definitely made making money easier (assuming it wasn't a fluke). Ih was super lazy and didn't even start talking to customers till almost midnight (I had attitude issues from some life drama). I still made my average earnings for Fridays. So based on tonight I would say it helped my money. Ill test the theory tomorrow to make sure it wasn't a fluke.

I wore my "real hair" and shockingly made money off a pensioner. (Turned out he was a cross dresser who had a boot fetish) -_-

Oooh good observation. I used to have a friend who was extremely pale. She bought a light pink dress off another girl who banked in it, but my pale friend never did. Finally another dancer told her it was making her look washed out and made her switch to a black dress, it made a big difference.

If she's the sweet blonde chick with blonde dreads, sick body and works MontCo, she is an amazing exception to the rule. She can dance and her body is curvy tight Amazingness!! Her secret is outshining everyone in the building with positivity.

I was with a friend last night who is a burlesque performer in Philly. She used to be blonde but recently changed her hair to black and turquoise. It looked awesome but she changed it to try to get into other clubs. She summed it up perfectly: "I refuse to starve for blue hair."
