Default The right balance of effort

So I've noticed that I make more on days where I don't try too hard and on days where I NEED money I don't make sh*t. I know other girls who've said the same thing.

so my last shift I put in minimal effort and acted like I didn't care and made horrible money. I was still smiling and approaching customers, just making sure I stayed relaxed and didn't come off desperate. What gives, man?

maybe I was trying too hard to not try too hard

anyone have any insight about this??

Sometimes, you can do everything right but the crowd just isn't for you. All you can do is tailor your hustle to each individual customer, but a lot of it does come down to being in the right place at the right time.

True. I tend to overanalyze everything I do at work ad nauseum and forget this simple fact.

But I do believe there is something to acting desperate vs being totally relaxed and letting it happen instead of forcing customers to spend money. I could be wrong. It's hard to gauge how much your behavior actually affects your income.

Relaxed and not trying too hard (for me) equates to being fun and keeping things light. I act like I don't so much need the money as I want it and I definitely let the custies know..like a mix of party girl with spoiled princess. But sometimes you can do everything right and the crowd is just cheap or it's nothing but regulars, or pervs that are only looking for extras. This is why I tend to do better on weekends...But sometimes even weekends bring in the cheap asses. Just take the bad days as a learning experience and keep experimenting. Good shifts make up for the lousy ones and it all tends to even out.

i've never had any luck with that hustle.. unless i'm on guys hustling dances they'll just continue taking my time up for free because " i look like i'm having a good time drinking with them". i think the reason it doesn't work when i act like i NEED it is because i am fearful and worrying about money, and its coming out in body language and speech. i just try and change it up to confident and cocky without giving my time away for free or acting like its "whatever". it was probably just the crowd or something, EVERY stripper is going to have off nights

I have had mixed results w/ this approach, but honestly what I find works best for me as of the last few wks, is keeping a more relaxed tone even as I turn up the heat on the customer for dances. I can usually redirect pretty well, the whole conversation I look for my 'in' to bring up dances/VIP but as I encounter resistance I try to maintain an attitude that says 'it is no big deal! ' while countering the excuses. It is a conscious effort on my part if the back&forth continues for more than one or two volleys, then admittedly I start to sweat a little & wonder whether I am pushing too hard, but I think the important thing is to make it seem like it is all effortless for you b/c if the customer picks up on your doubts then there goes your sale.
