Angry Got a 1099 form from Realtouch Interactive on the mail.. YESTERDAY.... smh

I m in such a pissy mood I don t even feel to re write the post I made on the girls only forum on RT so I m gonna go ahead and do copy and paste...lol
Sorry but just when I thought I had no bs to worry about I get this form on the mail ( they sent me one back in feb or so for the $ made on dates, then one of the admins said ( like a month ago) that we didn t have to report the $$ made on dates, and I filed my taxes back in feb, I had no idea, I mean I m always told I m supposed to report any $$ I make and specially if I get a form for….
So anyways, I wanted to post this here cause since RT went pretty much dead after they stopped making the device, not many girls check the forum anymore and support hardly ever shows up ( and they haven t gotten back to me on this one yet)

I understand they r not making the device anymore now, but I still think they should be around and check the forum once a day to see if models have any questions or concerns or whatever it s and send the1099 forms when they are supposed to n not 5 days before
the deadline to file my taxes

What should I do? file for an amended return ( I file jointly with my man and we use turbo tax) or just leave it the way it s and forget about it? ( my concern is applying to become a citizen in a couple months, what if that shows up and it looks like I don t pay my taxes? well I reported what i made from dates which was WAY more than the device sales s commission form that I just got so.. I don t know.. Any thoughts??
Did any other RT girl got a form this late??

"I know we talked about this before but I wanna let u girls know about the surprise I found on the mail today...
I got a tax form from RT from the $$ made on devices s sales.....
I got a first form months back ( sometime in Feb or so) from the $$ made on dates, I filed taxes with my main back in Feb , thought we were good to go but no...
Sometime last month I think, someone said they got a form and I thought " wow it s like march now, almost everybody probably filed taxes already..."
Well to make the story short it s almost April 10th, April 15th is the deadline to file taxes and my hubby and I will have to make an amended return or pay some fine if they realized I didn't declared this $$ made on devices s sales..
I m gonna be applying for my American citizenship sometime in July so unless it s very complicated to do I guess I have no choice than to file an amended tax return in 5 days from now or sooner..
Now my question to this site is:

    1) While u guys didn't let us know that the money made on devices was the only money we were suppose to declare or send forms for??? ( I got a form from u back in Feb, I knew it was from dates $$, nobody said anything, I went ahead and file it... then months later I realized I was only supposed to declare the money made from device s sales...

    2) Why am I getting a form today, 5 days before tax season ends???? why didn't u send it when it was the right time??

It would be great to get an answer, I know support is not around that much anymore but If u read this thread , I would appreciate if u get back to me and explain why I m getting a form so late and why we are having this lack of information/ communication since the device wasn't being produced anymore....

Did anybody else get a form sometime last week or today?

Thanks for reading my rant girls but my man and I are not happy to have to file an amended return days away from the deadline, not cool!

I'm not exactly sure what you're talking about with regards to income, but it sounds like you're saying that you only claimed some (not all) of the money you made from the site, and that you were under the impression that you only had to claim a portion of the income, but then the company reported all of your income on the 1099. Am I reading this correctly?

Yes, it totally sucks when a site issues 1099s that late. Technically, Real Touch could get in trouble with the IRS for that. The deadline was back in February I believe.

Yet ultimately you and you alone are the one looking out for you. You are an independent contractor & are responsible for keeping track of your own income, reporting & paying taxes on all of your income. Some sites (like NiteFlirt) don't send 1099s or only send them when you reach a certain amount of income with them. But you STILL have to report & pay taxes on all the income, regardless of who is or isn't reporting it on your behalf.

I'm sorry if I totally missed the point of what you were writing.

Yep, the deadline for sending out those 1099's was January 31.

I wonder what new shiny thing AEBN is promoting now that they're tired of RealTouch. This reminds me of when they decided to start promoting RealTouch instead of Xpeeps and gave the models a whopping 24 hours notice that they were shutting down and turning the site into a Streamate white label.

    Hi there Jess,
Nope what happened was, they first send a 1099 form around Feb or from the money made on dates ( that s where I made most of my $$ there, not devices sales comissions..) but I thought everything was included back then.
Nobody send anything, I was like cool, I got all my forms, I m gonna file, so that s what i did, I filed jointly and I got some $$ back too not long after I filed.
Then ( sometime in March I believe) the admin said something like " we only report the $$ u made from the devices s comissions, not the $$ made on dates ( like u said we are supposed to report everything....)
So now I got a form from 700.00 something I made selling devices and it has a cross on top and it says something like " corrected if checked" like they r trying to say, " this s what u have to report, not what we sent u last time.."
Hope I was more clear this time, I was so upset the other night I probably didn't express myself right..lol
But yeah i mean 1) even tough it would be "tempting" to not report all the $$ we made, we know that we HAVE TO report all of it so... I would like to know why the site doesn't report that money ( and why they sent this new form so late..) but so far nobody from support had said anything, I didn t send them a private message cause I was almost sure they weren't gonna get back to me... and well.. I made that public thread on the girls forum and they haven t said a word... not surprised I gotta say, once the stopped making the device it s like the site went to hell.
That lack of information and communication is something that pisses me off, not many models and members ( the few left) check the forums anymore there, that s why I made this thread here cause I know there s a couple RT girls in here.

^^^ you're screwed. No choice but to file an amended tax return reflecting the additional income reported on that late 1099 and to send the IRS a check for the additional taxes due, by the April 15th deadline. It's an absolute certainty that, as soon as the IRS receives the corrected 1099, IRS computers will run automatic cross-checks to try and verify that the corrected income amount reported on the 1099 was actually included on the tax return of the reported 'payees'.

Also, given that 'independent contractor' businesses are legally required to report and pay taxes on all business income regardless of whether a 1099 has been issued, this 'incident' may also precipitate an audit even if an amended tax return is filed - i.e. the IRS wondering how much additional non-1099 reported income your 'independent contractor' business may have ( also ) chosen not to report.

Bottom line probably is that the paying company is being audited by the IRS themselves, and is faced with the choice of either 'eating' all of the money paid out to other businesses without 1099 reporting as if it were actually income of the paying company ( = a much higher tax bill for the paying company ) ... versus 'officially' shifting the tax burden stemming from payouts that weren't previously reported on the original 1099's downhill to the 'independent contractor' businesses that actually received those payouts by issuing corrected 1099's .

Ultimate take-away is that you can't trust the 'word' of any company that they won't issue 1099's !!! If / when it boils down to that paying company having to decide to pay a ton of additional taxes to the IRS themselves, versus issuing 1099's ( or issuing corrected 1099's ) and passing those additional taxes downhill to someone else, they'll choose the latter every time !!!

Second take-away is that an 'independent contractor' business that is 'caught' under-reporting business income ( as has just happened as a result of the corrected 1099's ) loses credibility / raises suspicion with the IRS ... which in turn can prompt the IRS to ask additional questions.

another model said that the first 1099 we got was showing all the $$ made ( dates + sales commissions)... isn t that what we r supposed to report?
I know I said my first form was showing only the dates $ but I think she is right, it was showing everything ( that s what I reported) and now the site want us to send this " corrected form"....
They haven t said a WORD, even tough I made that thread and other models left comment, they r like nowhere to be found....lol
WTH it pisses me off when sites are so unprofessional!!
If what I reported the first time included ALL my earnings, shouldn t I leave it that way instead of submitting this new " corrected form" for a much lower amount?
