There's probably a thread on this already,
but I was wondering what E-cig you use, and what you believe is the best brand.
(I'm looking for something that tastes and feels very close to a real cig.)
Thanks in advance

Blu ... however, it's still a poor substitute for the 'real thing'. But these days, with the majority of US hotels, airports, public buildings etc. becoming 100% non-smoking, even a poor substitute helps take the edge off. Fortunately, I don't spend very much time in the US these days.

Don't bother trying to replicate a real smoke.
First of all - it won't work. The entire smoking "process" is really different with a vape. Secondly - it'll take all of about a week for you to be completely over all things cigarette related and HATE the taste and smell.
I smoked for 20 years. Quit 3 times, always started again, craved them the entire time I was quit, cheated frequently, started again, etc. Switched to a vaporizer after seeing a dozen friends quit smoking successfully with them and insist that they didn't even want cigarettes anymore. Health was an issue, modern society despising smokers was annoying and less of a consideration since I'm in Vegas, but still mattered - but the real clincher was money. Between MissMynxx and I, we realized we were spending ~$600/mo on smoking!
$200 later for a vape setup - total for both of us - here's how it went. First hour - vaping is awful, I wanna smoke. You cough every time you inhale the stuff. End of first day, you've got the hang of it and no longer cough. 3 days into it, I was still cheating and vaping, trying to mimic my favorite cigarette's taste. She cheated but very quickly determined that she liked her smokes less each day and gave up. A week later, I was finally done "cheating" but still wanted to, she was done. At this point, I went to the vape shop and tried new flavors. DO THIS RIGHT AWAY! I found a couple I liked that were nothing like any cigarette - more like hookah flavors. Within one day, I tried a cigarette and gagged on the taste. 7 days later - 2 weeks into vaping - couldn't even stand to be near smokers anymore.
I can't even explain it, and I don't want to sound like one of the anti-smoker Nazis - I don't give my smoker friends crap, because I remember what that was like. BUT - our nicotine levels are already down to a 12mg fluid and neither of us has ANY desire to smoke anymore. AT ALL. In 2 weeks. And when I say I can't stand to be around smoke anymore - like, take how nonsmokers react and multiply it by 10. After a week of straight vaping, cigarettes STINK. Like, make you sick to you stomach. I can smell a smoker 100 ft away now, inside their car smoking out the window. The THOUGHT of smoking a cigarette makes me ill. Again - this isn't trying to be all high and mighty and a jerk about it "I quit and now you're all gross" - I hate that. But it's really true - once you make the full transition, cigarette smoke will make you gag.
ANyway - be sure to find a place locally that sells good quality fluids. There's a lot of crap out there. Good shops make their stuff in house using all natural components. As for equipment - "e-cigs" are a waste of money - get a real vape setup and call it good. It's awkward for a few days unil ou get used to carrying it.
We got the eGo-C twist model. Very basic. We also got KangerTech ProTank II mini tanks - the plastic ones that come in most kits retain flavors and wear out, spend a few bucks on a good tank. Full retail from a brick and mortar store, you'll pay maybe $100-120 for 2 eGo-C large size batteries, a charger, and a decent tank, some extra coils, and some fluid. Ours paid for themselves in 10 days EVEN COUNTING THE SMOKES WE BOUGHT the first week. Now our total cost to continue vaping is less than $80/mo for both of us.
Good luck, sorry if I sounded preachy. Make the switch. Healthier, cheaper, and a lot of fun to get into!

Personally I like myvaporstore.com for parts and cartomizers and vapor4life.com for e-liquid.
I have a Kamrey Telescopic Mod. I love the Mod's because
they use batteries, so you don't have to replace the actual unit when the battery dies. Plus, they have the potential to last all day sans recharging.
When you are initially quitting, I recommend ordering the highest nicotine level e-liquid or cartridge that is available. Usually this is 2.4, but some sites only go up to 1.8. As AJ pointed out, vapor isn't going to give you the same weight as cigarettes smoke--like, it's not as full bodied, and the throat hit isn't as intense I think (its been a long time). When I first tried to quit I would go back to cigarettes because the vapor just didn't satisfy me, but then when I upped my nicotine content in my e-liquid, I stopped craving cigarettes.
You can gradually work your way down to 0 percent nicotine. It's been about 2 years for me and that's where I'm at now; however I still nurse my e-cig all day for some reason and get panicky when I don't have it in my hand. In fact, I think I'm more addicted to my e-cigarette than I was to cigarettes.
Honestly, there simply hasn't been enough time to do long-term studies on e-cigs. So who knows if they really are better for you? For me it's been a great alternative to smoking traditional cigarettes, though!

Green smoke!! i tried 2 or 3 brands before settling on it..its expensive, but completely worth it! it was the only brand i tried that was a really good substitute. it got me completely off cigs..at first i smoked maybe 5 cigs a day when i started my ecig ( that was going down from at least 20 a day), and then after a few days i totally went off real cigs. it will take a few days to a week of just smoking the ecig to get you off the real shit, but its worth it!

Thank you all for your very helpful responses!
I've tried Blu before but it wasn't my cup of tea at all.
I'm gonna check into the Vapes![]()

The club I just started working at doesn't let you smoke while at work-- the whole 10 hour shift, yeah I didn't know that when they hired me-- but they let you smoke e-cigarettes so I bought my first one last night at the bar (10 pounds, please tell me I can replace the thing and not have to buy another one entirely???). It was my first time smoking an e-cigarette and it actually did the job pretty well, the first four years were a bit rough but then I got busy with work and I didn't even end up smoking when I got back to my flat (but to be fair I was completely wiped out and feeling super nauseous yesterday) or when I woke up an hour ago. I'm a pack a day smoker so that's quite a surprise to me.
The brand I'm using it Gamucci and I like it because when I inhale on it I can feel a sensation of heaviness/smoke in my lungs. That sounds totally disgusting, but if you're a smoker you understand the feeling!
The one thing I do find with the e-cigarettes is that they're a lot stronger nicotine-wise than regular cigarettes, so you can't just keep puffing on them, which I was inclined to do, or you get sick.

It depends on the brand. There are the kind that are 1 time use and have to be thrown away (my club made a killing selling these to customers and dancers while they were constructing the beer garden). That's most likely the kind you have. The ones that recharge with replaceable 'filters' or refillable liquids cost more upfront (my V2 cost $45 and 'filters' are about $2 each (but are equal to 2 packs) because I buy in bulk), but the refill isn't too expensive.
An e-cig will help take the edge off. It's cheaper than real. But it is never a total replacement. They are heavier, there isn't as much smoke, hard to just dangle or hold between lips. It has helped me cut back on smoking a lot. I was at 2 packs a day a few years ago, now 2 packs a week and 1 filter a week (4 pack a week equivalent). I'd probably be down to less, but I film myself with the real ones, my clips just aren't the same with fakes.
I use a mechanical mod from fast-tech, but I wouldn't recommend that for a new user. unfortunately, pretty much all good ecig set-ups are going to be way heavier than a cigarette unless you're getting the super cheap non-reusable ecigs from the gas station. I like mech mods because they're cheap and they do what I need them to do. But if you want to cover your bases, I would suggest investing in a variable-voltage/variable wattage set up like an ecig outfitted with a DNA30 (if you can get ahold of them, they just came out not too long ago) or a DNA 20.
I like the look of box mods. But for having something fit in your purse, that's variable voltage (not variable wattage), has good customer service, and is top-notch quality and made in America-- I'd get a Provari mini. BUT, make sure you get a leakless rebuildable-drip-atomizer. The only problem is you're going to have to watch several youtube videos and get comfortable building your own coils. I've used mesh wicks before but now I'm all about the organic cotton-- though some like silica or other material wicks
This way you can
-have it on it's side and not leak
-take apart and wash it really well
-do different coils for different things (currently I favor the clapton coil because it a. looks really cool, and b. makes testing flavors really easy)
-switch out your cotton wick in less than two minutes and burn off the residual on the coil so you can change flavors often.
But that's probably a couple months away for you--
get a cheap ecig for now and start researching. Join some of the ecig forums. Realize that most cartomizers and atomizers will leak but there are now several options out there that do not leak if your ecig is put on it's side.

I love variable voltage/wattage units! But the passthrus seem to have a maximum lifespan of 3 months for me. And the VV mod's drain batteries like no other![]()

Aurora14 - yu need to bail n the e-cigs and switch to real vaping. It's night and day. And as soon as you stop trying to replicate "a cigarette", you'll be over cigarettes. Even back when I first tried e-cigs - waaay back when they were new, like 2008-2009 - I was trying to mimic the taste and feel of a real smoke, and so were a lot of the units. Once people started using "e-hookahs" as they were first calling them, the flood of people magically quitting in 72 hours or less began.
For people new to the game - BANHammerGoddess and MyButter are talking about "mods", equipent and things people buy when they really get into the "hobby" aspect of vaping. Don't be intimidated by that talk, lol. Many people get a good variable voltage base like my eGo-C and call it good. If you get into the fun stuff later, great! Fun hobby! If not - the basic setup will serve you well for a long time.
As for the cloud chasers here - I take "make your own" to a completely different level, lol. I can't stand just winding my own coils and buying whatever cool mod the shop is carrying or is popular on the boards. I've started AutoCAD-dsigning my own everything, and will begin building them soon. My new head/tank design can't even be manufactured traditionally - 3D printing rules.
Ya, I'm not really looking to actually quit. I love real cigarettes. I got mine more for the situations where indoor smoking isn't allowed and I didn't want to go outside. Cutting back so much just happened to be a pleasant result. If it weren't for my smoking customers (some of my most pleasant customers), I would just all out quit.

^Yeah, it's helped me cut down a lot. I've gone from smoking a pack a day to like 7 cigs in the last week-- I was enjoying the e-cigarette so much in the beginning that I thought "hey I'll quit smoking!" and uhhhm, yeah that lasted about 48 hours and those last 12 hours were rough. But at least I'm significantly cutting down!

I'm a regular e-cig user and a regular analog smoker (real cigarettes = analog, for sake of explaining terminology here). I've quit for several months at a time using my e-cig. My failing with quitting is sticking with people who smoke analog cigarettes and then craving the old habit again. I've never been a nicotine junkie so much as an oral habit junkie, but the feel of a real cig is big with me. But anyway, back on topic:
I've used Volcano e-cigs, which have 100% USA made liquids. The flavor options are fewer, but the liquids are always high quality. This was my first e-cig and customer service was excellent there. I've moved on because I like other models they don't offer better, but their liquids are still a staple of mine. Shipping is fast and cheap/free, so take a look at this Hawaiian company.
Many companies sell exactly the same cigarettes with different logos. I personally use the Ego clear-o-mizer (or tank-o-mizer, depending on who you ask) with any large, 1 amp battery. Higher the amps, the longer it goes between charges. Tanks/clear-o-mizers are wonderful because you refill them with liquids yourself. This is the opposite of most 'gas station' e-cigs, which have pre-filled cartridges that you can only use once (not refillable). The second option is generally more expensive. Those pre-filled cartridges and e-cigs often look the most like real cigarettes, but have the least 'hit' as far as I'm concerned.
Vaping isn't smoking, as several have mentioned. It takes the edge off, but it's a different form of smoking. I enjoy it more, personally. My throat isn't on fire the next day, I can run easily, and it's much cheaper. The flavor options are great, but nothing tastes exactly like tobacco (always a bit nutty or too sweet, to me). A harder draw doesn't give you more vapor like it does smoke from a cigarette. You have to inhale longer to get more vapor because only a set amount is made per second by the battery. The nicotine content is often 0, 6, 12, 18, and 24mg per bottle. I stick to 18mg usually as I find the 24mg bottle has a very, very strong taste of nicotine and it's hard to smoke for long periods of time taste-wise. The 18mg I can vape on all day without feeling the flavor of the liquid itself is overpowered.
As I've mentioned, I've used vaping to quit smoking, so if that's what you're looking for you can do it. However, prepare for withdrawal from actual tobacco for the first few days to weeks because it is a different form of smoking. It takes the edge off of quitting, but you still have to get the actual 'tobacco' habit out before you're totally quit.
For what it's worth, I've had an e-cig for a couple years and I have *only* had real cigarettes on the rare occasions where I've run out of cartomizers. I consider it a huge success!

There's a dizzying array of options out there
But most convenience stores carry little blucig starter packs for about #30-includes a charging pack, 2 blu cigs, and a box of 5 cartridges...blucigs are good to start with cuz they are cheap and you can buy the cartridges anywhere
I feel like ecigs are WAY healthier and i'm super happy I made the switch. Also, all the flavors are awesome-I don't miss the taste of cigs at all, I prefer all the cool flavors

thanks for the responses everyonei have the ego-cc and i absolutely LOVE it.
its been twelve hrs since i had a cig. this tastes so much better.

^ From what I've read, there seems to be alot of debate as to whether or not they are actually healthier than cigarettes since there hasn't been enough time to do any long term studies.

I feel like e-cigarettes aren't exactly "healthy," but i do feel like they're healthier then real cigarettes.

another quick question;
i have a different ejuice then the one provided with the kit, and it tastes so much better.
the problem is, the head of the bottle is too big to fit and the liquid won't go in.
anyone know where i could go to buy a needle pin bottle NOT from amazon? kind of want to use it immediately.

this is my second year as an Ecig user, and i'm totally hooked on it ! i use a Joyetech eGO 1100mAh pass-through-battery ( i can vape on it while it charges in the usb), and C4- disposable cartomizers. Since i've started using it, my breathing has improved a lot and my house doesn't stink anymore... and it's also pet'friendly.. my chinnie used to get watery eyes even if i'd smoke in an open window and his cage is on the opposide end of the room...
i've started with a 36mg tobacco liquid, and i used to add a drop of grape flavour to every 3 drops of turkish tobacco flavour... after 2 months, i've switched to 24, then to 18, and now i'm at 10mg, but i keep 3 beads of uncrushed pepper in my liquit bottle just to enhance the throat kick a little... it works for me.

look, i'm no doctor, but the most dangerous substances in normal cigarettes are nicotine, and tar (among bleach and other shit)... tar clogs and blackens the lungs (cancer), and nicotine thickens the blood (heart disease)... i think electronic cigs are the least harmful alternative regarding smoking... any doctor who would claim that e-cig are more dangerous than normal cigs, probably has his pockets filled with cash from tobacco companies who pay them to claim stuff.... for every person who quits smoking, not only do the tobacco companies lose money, but the government aswell.
