    Default Being a high-end dancer.

So, I'm going to be training a friend to be a high-end dancer. What would you say would be a requirement in order to look the part?

    Hair
    Makeup
    Body
    Style
    Etc.?

For me, I'm a big fan of the 50's movie star look. Bold lipstick, sexy eyes, soft hair, manners befitting a lady, being in shape, things of that sort.

I'm a little confused... If you offered to train someone, you already have expertise in the area. No?

From my experience I have found that the most "high-end" ladies stand out by not standing out. Their hair is neither stylized nor scraggly. Boobs aren't too big or too small for their frame. If a girl is tall and skinny like a model, that helps... but if she's toned and average she can have a classy 'girl next door' vibe that's very popular. Petite ladies do very very well. The makeup is demure. Nothing too bright or extreme. They look fresh and clean. Attractive yet approachable. Clothing will vary by club so I won't get into that... but accessories are often minimal and 'real'... less costume jewelry... maybe real stones/brands... actual jewelry. Nails are often natural and the nail polish is neutral. They're a bit bronzed but not over-the-top-tan. Tattoos are minimal or nonexistent. They're confident, outgoing, and secure in themselves without being a distraction. They focus on the customer as if they're the only guy in the world for the time they have together. They're comfortable in their own skin and know that they are THA HOTTTNESS... but they don't shout it from the rooftops. They seduce... they don't act like a needy/attention-starved toddler throwing a tantrum in order to get noticed. Strong yet soft spoken. Understated and intriguing.

I've worked in high-end places and in dives but the truly "high-end" dancers eschew gimmicks like retro styles, alternative styles, and 1990's porn star vibes (with only 2-3 exceptions) almost always. They aren't characters. They aren't cartoons. They are not artificial or fake-seeming... there is some genuine chord that resonates with people. They are the sexy girl in everyone's fantasies.

They do not try too hard.

At least that is what I've noticed...

I do have experience as a high-end dancer, and I consider myself to be one, I was just looking for anything that I may have missed. I don't want to commit her to only one style, when I know that many different looks work for a high-end entertainer. I also want to make sure that I haven't missed anything before throwing her into the lion's den.

My main explanation was, "If you take a photo of her today and show it to someone 100 years from now, she will still be beautiful."

High-end dancers are classically beautiful and not too trendy or gimmicky.

You either have class or you don't. In my opinion you can't really teach someone to be high end. You can make them look more polished and help them be a better hustler though.

50s pin up style is more girl-hot, not guy-hot, IMO.

I never said anything about pin up.

I stated "50's Hollywood" to convey that I was a fan of soft, girlish glamour.

The whole reason I even asked was because I knew that everyone had different ideals, and I would like constructive commentary, please.

like was mention on another thread, a high end dancer would put "basics" first : nice soft healthy hair, clear firm skin, white straight teeth, nice clean nails, fit toned body, good classy understated fashion sense. be a great conversationalist, be able to hold a man's attention even without taking her clothes off, but also be a great dancer ( i've seen girls who look great but once they get onstage its all over..they can't even point their toes, their dancing isn't fluid, can't dance to the beat, don't know how to "strip tease", and they resort to trashy moves to get attention.)

"100 years from now"... timeless beauty is based on genes, math, and instinct. If your girl is beautiful already... she's basically 90% of the way there.

Variables aside, most "high-end" dancers are effortless/natural, radiate health and youthfulness without artifice, and most easily (or most difficultly, depending on the person) are tremendously confident. They are finely tuned to customers preferences/moods and appear neutral enough to adapt to almost every customer's preference/fantasy... They work for a customer's favor... they recognize that it doesn't make sense the other way around. There is no magic look. There are far too many variables in terms of appearance and demeanor.

Let's put it this way... it takes a lot of work to be high end. High-end ladies (not just strippers!) tread a fine line between being polished, provocative, and being (in theory) attainable. It has far more to do with CONNECTING with a customer than a stylized persona.

Another important aspect is posture and gracefulness. Other dancers sometimes tease me about walking around like I'm in a Miss America pageant but it really helps with the whales.

One question for you guys --

If everything else is kept neutral, do you think red lipstick is okay or is that too girl hot? I feel so washed out with my platinum hair now that I find myself giving in, although I try to keep it to stains rather than heavy mattes or glosses.

I feel like lip stain would be very effective. Anytime a girl wore red lipstick, the customers always commented positively on it. I remember one customer commented how lipstick has become so rare on women nowadays.

Also I feel you on platinum hair washing you out. Was late to work the other day and had to go on stage without any makeup and had girls begging me from the bar to let them do my eyebrows. lol.

It seems like there's been a flood of posts on being "expensive" "high-end" etc, and I really think the most important thing is to be yourself and stand out from the crowd. There are definitely some things about me that are high-end-- I wear expensive lingerie, classic styles like garters and lacy bras, hair in long, voluminous curls-- but some things that are probably not, like glitter, bright eye shadows, etc. But it works for me because that's what sets me apart from the other girls at work. I think making money in the SC is about individuality, not fitting into the mold. Just my two cents.

I think that being able to carry on conversations on just about every topic will give you a broad range of appeal. And you can't really train someone to do that, other than suggest that they read more.

Customers judge a lot of things based on how you speak. Your accent, grammar, and what you choose to discuss. A girl I worked with for a while was a real cutie and hustler but when she opened her mouth, penises went soft. Double negatives, excessive cussing, complaining about baby daddy constantly. Ruined her money just by talking.

Ok this is gonna sound really weird and for many it's a no brainer, but ladies, wash your hair!! Lol. What I mean by that is the following: I use foundation, powder, eyeliner and mascara, pink lipstick. That's it. I constantly am being told how classy I look unless I was too lazy to wash my hair and it was oily and I went to work..... Then no one tells me I look classy and I make less.
