Shiiiit, you never know what they're talking about. What she promised him after the club lol. It could be one of THOSE kinds of situations..I've overheard plenty conversations like that and wouldn't you know the guy is making it rain on her afterwards.

I'm kind of confused on what you're asking for exactly and I'd like to offer you sound advice. Working at an urban club, typically means guys want to see pole tricks. If those dancers are great at their stage work, their presence and pole tricks, while you're just okay, it could be those girls just know their customers. They know the guys (the type) that'll make it rain on the girls who do pole tricks. There isn't really an exact science of what to say, what did that girl say to make him spend so much?

Perhaps you should talk to those guys too, ask what brought them in that night or whatever small talk you can think of involving the club. Sometimes just speaking to a group of guys is good, because when it's your turn to go on stage, they would already be familiar with you and won't mind throwing a couple bucks your way. I would smile, wink at them and show them extra attention cus I have already introduced myself. It's kind of a machismo thing with men in groups. And it might even make them feel awkward since you're showing them all this attention they'll feel a little compelled to at least compensate you with something. Emulate what those girls do, definitely if they appear to be top earners.

Hmm I guess I'll tell you what I look for. I tend to somehow find customers that love to throw money on stage. And I am a shit stage dancer with only the occasional pole tricks and ass clapping, but I don't drink at work so I have time to observe people when they walk in.

A guy walks in quietly and sits in a corner of the bar. He immediately hands money over to the bartender to change out into singles. And this is the key part...
He puts his money away. My best customer changes out 100-200 at a time, but will throw over 1000 that night. But that 1000 he has is in his wallet, not in a brick of singles in front of him on the bar.

I find that in urban clubs, guys that come in and change out a ton of money immediately and hold it in their hand or put it in front of them on the bar, rarely make it rain. They just have it there for show.

Also my customers that make it rain on me tend to be very respectful and not grabby at all. I find that the customers that are the grabbiest and roughest are the cheapest. I usually just sit and talk with them for a little bit and when stage time comes I let them know I'm going on stage and boom money comes!

In a way, it's like when you find a whale in a lap dance or VIP room club. They're quiet, respectful, and keep to themselves, usually indicating they are there to spend.

Also bklynbombshell hit it on the head with small talk and showing them attention from stage. They then feel a little obligated to throw some money. She also has a point that you never know if those girls are meeting with customers outside of the club or promising something extra. I've had girls promise extra stuff to my customer but then they look stupid because he doesn't make it rain on them.

And sometimes it's just luck and the guy just feels like throwing money Everyone has their day in these clubs. Yours will come up soon don't worry!

^I drink at work and am still able to observe customers in the club? Not sure what you mean by that...

It sounds like the guys at your club don't like to just make it rain on everyone they like to make it rain on girls that they know, so I would focus on cultivating relationships with the customers so they are more likely to tip you on stage. This is true for any club, my best tippers have usually been customers that I spent some time with. Watch as well for what they like onstage-- what makes them tip? Girls who do lots of pole tricks or girls who hang on the side of the stage and show them extra attention? Is there a certain move they like, are they am ass man/tit man? Some guys love to be amazed by pole tricks and will cheer and clap and throw money, other guys could care less and want you to make eye contact and hang by the edge of the stage. Do they like certain music? I can't tell you how many guys have tipped me extra because I danced to a song that they like, years ago I used to have a customer come in who hated white girls and would only tip black/hispanic girls at the club, but he always tipped me (though not as much as he tipped them) because I always danced to his favorite Lil Wayne song.

Some clubs are the same as everywhere else and other clubs have a very specific hustle, best to evaluate and see what's working for the other girls.

Audrey_k yea but I'm sure you don't get crazy drunk by 10PM before there are customers. When everybody is smashed and drunk off Hennessy and patron shots before anyone comes in, it helps to be sober. With these customers sometimes you get them just because you happen to be the first girl to approach them, which is usually the case that happens with me. And I wait a loooong time before going up to them. But everyone is so busy drunk in the corner taking pictures and videos for instagram, that they either 1) don't even know the guy is there or 2) see the guy, but just assume he's a guy that's there to sit at the bar and tip a couple of dollars. They don't bother watching to see the interaction between the customer and bartender and exchange of money. It's different than drinking throughout your shift or drinking with a customer. But heavy drinking is gonna impair how you observe customers if you are crazy smashed before they walk through the door, especially early on in the night.

Also very valid point about music. I've seen guys throw money just because they really like the song. Sometimes they don't even look at the girl they're throwing money at. This happens more often than you'd think. It's quite funny actually. The first time it happened to me was my first night. I was wiping down the pole with a paper towel and all of a sudden $300 thrown on me and the guy wasn't even looking lmao. He was just so into the song. It was some west coast g funk and the DJ actually played it for me because I'm from Cali. And I guess this guy was visiting from LA. So that was a lucky night.
