In social settings, with casual acquaintances, or striking up conversations with strangers, say, at the metro, or on a first date, do you generally tell people you're a stripper?
I'm so humiliated about being unemployed. I have awful thoughts of pushy people saying "why don't you have a job" and "why don't you just go work at McDonald's?" I feel like that's sooo embarrassing for someone who went to a top university. I feel like it's for high school dropouts and ex cons. I feel like stripping is so much less degrading that working in the fast food industry. You wear high heels, makeup, and bikinis, not french fry hats, name tags, and dorky tennis shoes. Plus it's much more enjoyable. I just feel like most people beg to differ. They don't see stripping as a real job, much less an honorable one. So they expect me to play follow the follower and do what they say.
So anyway, as a stripper, what do you tell people you do?

I tell people I'm a stripper unless it's my boyfriend's sisters (who are 20 years older than him and uber bitches)
