    Default Unsure about this club...

I took the plunge and went to my first strip club. After reading through hundreds of threads here, I thought I would be prepared. Thing is, nothing was how I expected it to be!
For starters, it was a Saturday night and the place was sooo empty. There were only about four people at the tip rail, but eventually a small birthday party entered, then a bachelor party. Both parties had plenty of women though, and all they seemed interested in was drinking.
Secondly, it's an all nude club, but I guess I thought that would mean there was no alcohol served, which was obviously not the case.
Also, by how you ladies talk on here I assumed the dancers would be constantly walking around attempting to get guys to pay for lap dances and the champagne room--but all they did was stand around talking to each other! I went with my boyfriend and was not approached once for anything. I had to stop one of the dancers myself and ask for a lap dance.
I asked one of the bouncers a few questions, and he flat out said to me that when you get a lap dance, "you can basically molest the dancer". Uhhh, wtf? That can't be normal!
Not to mention the fact that the dancers do sooo much on stage for just a dollar!! They rubbed everyone who tipped's faces in their chests, flipped around and did crazy grinding stuff that I thought for sure would get someone kicked out, put their faces in guys' crotches... I mean, I'm no prude, but seriously? What's the point of getting a lap dance of they show/give everything away on stage??
Bottom line is, I'm really unsure if I want to work in a club like that, but if they're all like that I suppose I can deal with it. Any and all thoughts, opinions, comments and suggestions are greatly appreciated!!

What area are you in? That'd help, also please read Club Chat section for your area, & also other clubs that may be high mileage as you described..we also have a reviews section, it's kinda old but you can get an idea. Also read Hustle Hut for tips on hustling in clubs, this section can help too, the Newbie section.
Tuscl & stripclublist give reviews from the customer's standpoint, it can give you an idea of club atmosphere.

You have to understand that there is a lot of variation among clubs. Just because you've read that Saturday nights tend to be a busy night, doesn't mean that's the case in all clubs or even every week in clubs where that tends to be true. A crowded club also doesn't necessarily equate lots of money for the dancers, since as you noticed, many are just interested in drinking.

Whether alcohol can be served in a nude club is determined my local bylaws, and I'd be very surprised if the club was serving alcohol and letting girls flounce about nude -- that's a surefire way to get their club shut down in no time. I would take this to mean that alcohol and nudity are permitted in your area.

You also have to understand that the dancers you have seen write on here aren't the norm. You will find a small handful (if that) of dancers like the ones you'll find on here in the club. Many girls in the club just sit around talking to each other at the bar or in the dressing room and not even trying to make money. They are often the ones complaining at the end of the night about how dead it was.

Many dancers are also averse to female customers, so I'm not at all surprised to hear you weren't approached. A few other ladies have made similar observations on here, and the reality is that many dancers have had negative experiences with female customers (just run a search to read all about them), so they just flat-out avoid all female customers. Generally, couples don't tend to be huge spenders anyway, so it's often not worth the effort to get the couple warmed up if the club is otherwise busy.

As for the liberal contact on stage and in the back… I mean, it happens. Some clubs are dirtier than others, and some cities permit more contact than others. Just because one club allows it doesn't mean all do, but some cities are definitely known to be dirtier than others. Run a search in Club Chat or browse through Club Reviews for your city and see what is said about other clubs near you.

Overall, the thing about strip clubs is that nothing is standard, and there's very little (if anything) you can expect to be the same in every strip club. That's good news for you since this club doesn't sound like a good fit for you to work at, so go ahead and check out another one -- just know that it won't necessarily be like anything you've read about on here, since everything you read on here is an amalgamation of the experiences of hundreds of different dancers worldwide.

I'm in Montana, and I've already looked into the very few outdated and bare threads specifically about the clubs here, as well as the scanty info on TUSCL. I'm not asking for specific info about Montana or about how to hustle, I'm asking for advice/opinions on if what I described is a dive club where I shouldn't work. It seems really out of the ordinary when compared to what you ladies are always saying. And what do you mean by high mileage?

@Shanna: yeah, I kind of figured they didn't think we would be big spenders, but when there's only a few other customers in the whole place and a bunch of dancers? Idk, I guess you must be right and they don't put in the effort... I guess I was just surprised that it was so different than what I was expecting!

Many of the clubs I've worked at have a small handful of hustlers with the rest of the dancers just coasting by. I think you find more hustlers in the more upscale clubs since those usually come with higher house fees and higher earning potential, but there are still always some stragglers who do nothing and complain at the end of the night when money didn't fall in their lap. Personally, I'm okay with working in a club without lots of hustlers -- more money for me! Clubs with too many hustlers can be brutal because the girls are vulture, pouncing on customers as soon as they walk in the door, and in some rare clubs, all crowding around and trying to hustle the same customer all together. Still, I do think it's worthwhile for you to try and find a different club that has a tamer style as that will likely appeal to you a lot more, and make you feel much more comfortable! Some cities/areas are just full of dives or that kind of contact, but it's always worth it to at least see what it else out there. The great thing about this job is that it's often very easy to leave one club for another, so you're never really "stuck" in a lame club.

Ok, I looked up the mileage thing, now I get it.
The nearest club aside from the one I wrote about is twenty miles away, and there are two others I know of but it takes about three hours to drive to them from where I am. I plan on visiting the one twenty miles away this weekend to see if it's any better.
Another quick question... Is it common/advisable to chat with the people at the tip rail, or do you just keep dancing as they put money on the stage? Each time someone tipped one of the dancers at that club, the dancer made a point to kneel in front of them and start chatting and grind on them or make them feel their boobs. Not sure if I'd do that, seems kind of strange to stop mid-dance.

It's always a good idea to acknowledge the tip in some way -- how interactive or friendly you get with the customer really depends on the club, the rest of the crowd, the tip, etc. Stage shows aren't really dances in the proper sense of the word, so it isn't much of an interruption, especially if you continue to do some sort of move/pose just in front of the tipping customer. But I really don't think it's a big deal to pause and say thank you, maybe even ask/offer to come see them after your show to lay the groundwork for him spending money on the floor. The thing about stage shows is that (in many clubs) they're more marketing than income-generating, so you want to approach the tippers or even just the oglers after you're done since they're likely to spend money on you for dances/VIP/CR.

It sucks when you live in an area full of shitty clubs. I quit dancing in my city last year because I don't like the dirtiness/politics to take trips to dance in another city 4 hours away. I would go for 1-2 weeks at a time, every 4-6 weeks and that can be a good alternative to maximize on your money if you don't like your area. Definitely check out the other club in your area but if you really need/want the dancing income and want to make the most of it, be open to travelling. The smaller the strip club market gets as other segments of the sex industry gobble up the market share, the more difficult it is getting to find an awesome club. I wish you all the best You can always get some experience in the smaller divier clubs in your area and then maybe move somewhere with better dancing income potential too I guess!

OP was told by mgmt that 'customers can basically molest the dancer' I would be concerned hearing that as well. Don't make assumptions of whether she can stomach the job just bc she does not like the possibility of customers getting away w/ whatever they want.

It also sounds like OP realises she is worth more than a full-on crotch dive for a measley dollar. That sounds like sm1 w/ standards, the club she described sounds like a free-for-all. She should look for a cleaner club to try b4 deciding whether dancing is her thing or not.

Thanks so much for the kind words, Aniela! I absolutely do have standards, and I went to the club 20 miles away this past weekend to check that one out as well. It seemed much, MUCH better than this one, though there weren't very many customers there, either.

@kelliek, I'm an escort, so I don't have a problem with any aspect of stripping (aside for maybe my dance technique...). I just don't like the idea of giving it all away on the stage or being molested for 25 measly bucks in a dark back room.

Thanks so much to everyone of you who gave your input!!! I really appreciate it.
