Default in your experience will clubs lie for you?

Im trying to get an apartment however the only job I have had over three months has been the club. Now most apartments want you to have a job for 6-12 months and paycheck stubs. I found a few who will take a letter of employment but im having the issue of what exactly the club can do. They said they did letters of employment but I have been dancing off the books for three months now so the door girl couldn't give me more info since she's not an accountant. Has anyone had a similar situation and it work out good?

it really depends on the relationship you have with your manager. and no i'm not suggesting that you run off and offer sexual favors or anything like that, but i've had some chill managers who liked me write me up letters

Well I have good relationships with the two shift managers but I have hardly spoken to the general manager who would be writing the letter. So idk then. Im pretty quiet and just come in and make my money then leave. The only negative I can think of is got super drunk and passed out last month but he was helpful and mostly thought I was funny.

Does the letter have to come from the general manager? Why can't one of your shift managers write it for you, if you think they're more likely to play along?

Also, do you regularly deposit your earnings and declare them on your taxes? A letter from a shift manager plus bank statements plus any other proof of income will go a long way -- and if that's not enough, offering to pay a few months of rent upfront is usually enough for most landlords (though this doesn't always work with rental agencies or landlords with many properties).

I just paid a really high deposit when I moved into my new place. If I had proof of income, I could have saved $1500, but my credit score was good and my rental history was also good, so I managed to get approved with the additional deposit (which is refundable).

I've known dancers to get co-signers on rentals to help make up the difference between no proof of income.

5-6 years ago I did something similar. My husband and I were trying to move into a brand new apartment complex and they needed proof of income from both of us.
My club made me pay $10 and my manager asked me approximately what I made per week and wrote me up a paper. It said I was employed by VCG holdings and made X$/week and that I was in good standing with them and it said the date I started working for them.
The complex we wanted didn't ask questions about it and everything was approved and we moved there!

^Wow, that's awesome! I wish I had thought of that a long time ago. I did get a manager to lie for me about my actual job. He ran another business and said that I worked there and used him as a reference for a vanilla job. It worked.
