The Ifriends thread

Since we dont have an Ifriends thread here & they dont have a forum on site for a while now to talk about things i am opening it for us ladies to discuss matters related to this site.
The reason i come up with this thread now is: i got an email from them telling me i qualify for the new video chat platform to test it so i am invited to beta test the new system.
I am a veteran there, was my 1st site actually but did not work there for some years now, just random sessions now & then to keep account active.

Anyone else been invited to beta test? Does this means Ifriends will try to resurrect the site & make it lucrative again like it was years ago? I hope so, if they invest into a new video chat system i believe they'll invest in bringing traffic to the site too, i really liked the site & it's features especially that free chat is not mandatory there, even if they make it mandatory i could do with a good site to work on u know...

IFriends was the first webcam host site I migrated to after I decided to shut down my own adult website and self-hosted webcam. I continued to use IFriends on and off over the years, because they offered a comparatively high percentage payout, as well as a platform for selling videos ... but in exchange for comparatively low site-generated traffic. Of course the traffic 'shortage' didn't matter if you were steering your own traffic to your IFriends account.

Over the years, IMHO they failed to 'keep up with the times' ... both in terms of advances in technology ( i.e. girls who can generate their own traffic can now use Skype as a de-facto webcam host for much less money than IFriends charges ), as well as in terms of the gradual 'webcam market' business model change from small numbers of big spending customers to large numbers of small spending customers.

IFriends always treated me well. Here's hoping that they're serious about 'catching up' !

I love the non-mandatory free chat on iFriends, however I can't help but wonder if that's what caused them to fall behind the other free-chat oriented sites. I feel they could still do well if they advertised more, I think that's more important than a site overhaul, though it does look very dated and is unnecessarily complex. I've been there 11 years but didn't get an email re: a beta site. I only host about 6 hours a week there now though. Interested to see what it's going to be like, I hope nothing like iFriendsv2, which wasn't any better than iFriends 1.

^^^ Not sure about a dedicated Ifriends thread but if there is any i am sorry, i overseen it. Anyway, i tried the site today, for me was as dead as i knew it, the difference is in layout, we get to see members & guests on the right side of chat window in two small boxes (similar to SM) but the info about them opens up just under the video picture same like before. I dont see anything spectacular, no new technology yet, i gave it a little test time, not much to do in there, tried standard session & free to private & i got no members in my room at all just a few guests but they could not type as i blocked guest chat. They really need traffic, paying traffic. Let's wait & see.

I got asked to beta test because I am an "active and valued" performer. HA. I've never once streamed on the account! So I thought that was sort of amusing.

I would like to use it to split, that's why I signed up, but I find the site to be rather confusing. I haven't streamed yet because all the different options are overwhelming and there isn't much explanation as to what exactly the difference is in each type of option you have before streaming.

Looks like they pick random models to beta test, i was kinda surprised myself to read 'i am a valued partner' lol, i was thinking they offer this to me to make me go back on site after not working there regularly in the last 4 years but i see they offer it to new models as well.

I reckon u will do well on Ifriends Sarah, the most important session options are 'Standard' & 'Free to private', if u pick standard option u'll have members in ur room able to chat with u but cant see u, u'll have a protective wrapper over ur picture, if they join ur paid show the wrapper goes away & u are seen.
You are informed in chat window that the member went into paid show.

Free-to-private is the same like on SM, people see ur stream & if they want more they take u private.
The system is the same like on any other cam site where u have a free area and member area so Ifriends is similar to Jasmin let's say, the only difference is u cant switch from member area to free area by pressing a button, u need to shut off session & open another one so u switch from standard to free-to-private and opposite.

That is not comfy to do always if u wanna test things around plus if u are in free-to-private & have a nude show on another site u need to shut down ur Ifriends session completely, take a very short/ few mins break from it (like on SM) & resume when done. When in Standard u can do nude shows on other sites & if u get a member on IFR. they will eventually stay & watch. Not sure how this will fit ur needs but u can give it a try.

I must say i like the concept but for me was not lucrative anymore because of the lack of paying traffic and 4 years ago i switched to SM. But u know how it is, u have more chances to succeed, u younger, looking great & are american so yeah, go for it! Good luck!

I think everyone got that beta test email. Hadn't been on there in awhile and got an email to every single screen name (I had several).

I would love it if they resurrected the site, but not holding my breath. I can be on all day and get zero shows, and I have to keep pausing when I get shows on other sites because the guests without credit cards can see through the wrapper and hear me.

It used to be my favorite site, sad how it died.

You can mute the sound in guest chat. I've never found the wrapper to be overly thin, personally, though I know others find it so. I feel like any quality customer isn't going to wank through the wrapper. I also pause my shows on IF if I get a show elsewhere, because I feel it's better business. Most of my IF are from regulars some even from 10 years so I don't like to give the impression they don't have my full attention when they join me.

Sophia answered many of your questions already (thanks!), but if a member does not wish to subscribe to your FanClub, he can elect to purchase your content individually. For videos, the pricing is a minimum of $0.49/min but they have to purchase it in its entirety.

Here is a run-down of our payout % types:

As far as strictness, we have definitely eased up. You can eat on cam, listen to music, and promote your twitter accounts. We only ask you are available for members in front of your camera, and refrain from illegal activities on cam. As for what you can and cannot do on cam, usually that is consistent on all websites

ifriends was my first site in 2001 when i first started to cam and i quit it in 2005 and went back and forward and now im splitting it with aw and for me ifriends has been good. i never thought i would do free to private, coz i hate free chats, but what i see on if is that the twats are not many nd when they bother, i just kick them out. Instea by being on free, im making a decent amount of shows on private and made a check, which wasnt big, but its a quite good start. I will keep working on it coz its something like being my first site, i have this kind of love feeling for it. call me idiot. lol

When i tried the site together with SM i tried mostly Private mode cause i did not wanted another free chat like SM but there is no business for me anymore in there, years ago i also tried free to private mode and i got some freeloaders in my room so i switched to pvt mode only. yes, its working fine. when i tried only private, i wouldnt get anyone paying for hrs, so i started the free to private (which i hate and never do anywhere else) and its working fine. i was able to make 100usd in 4 hs. i know, its not much, but for me it is because the exchange rate from a dollar to my currency is 3.4, so for ME, its worth it, for me........let me get that clear. i charge 2.99 with the 5% desc for vip and elite members though. i dont offer audio and i dont undress. my shows are domme. hope it helps.

Nice, in my case i need to make sure the site i am splitting SM with it's worth the effort/resource consumption cause i can only split two sites here with my i5 pc, for me is a big deal to split so the other site must make me consistent money, i rather focus on SM only than keep a dead/slow site open there, this can be done only if u have a strong pc (i know u have an i7 new desktop) but not when u got MY I5 and run SM HD720, that is eating soo much resources already, not much left for another site. xx
